Don't Buy Phalaenopsis Until You See This PSYCHOPSIS Difference
They really are amazing when they flower. So beautiful and the colors, wow!
Well flowered
I love orchid growers because they are some of the most intense gardening and plant hobbiests. People who grow roses or aroids are not nearly as unhinged as folks with orchid obsessions. ❤
Beautiful
Another that makes me hungry 😅😅
🤣 just remember to eat the right ingredient ..
Ok now I’m worried. Several of my phalaenopsis orchids started to push out air roots for the first time. I assumed it was because I added a layer of spagmoss on top for extra humidity (mine is ca 55%) Does that mean they are unhappy and I have to take them out of the pots to check the roots inside? I’m hesitant because they are all in spike or bloom atm.
It is possible that they sent up the roots because the air movement into the pot may be less with the sphagnum moss on top of the media , make sure the moss is very loose . I find it very difficult to control the moisture content of my media using sphagnum moss without having holes all around the pots . I would suggest lifting the moss and checking the media underneath . The moss should be loosely arranged around the top so should be easy to move to check . You can also use evaporation trays to keep the humidity levels up around your orchids . I hope this helps . 💕👍
Singapore Vanda Miss Joachim 😍🌿🌎💖
Yes💯💕 they have been renamed to Papilionanthe
Fusarium took two of my Vanda's recently. An "Anti-joyous" event but a good learning event none the less . Don't mess with the "MUNGIS". "BING BONGIS !
Did you get my last message when you mentioned them ? If you did not see it them use a systemic fungicide over your orchids fusarium can be a bee with an itch
@thenaturecompany No I didn't see it. I have my remaining 2 mounted to my orbellini palms. Can I use a systemic with them on trees ?
yes you can , treat any other orchids that were in the same area . Just to be safe 💕
@thenaturecompany Just finished complying with your suggestion ! Thankyou !
yeah for this is is important to be safe and not sorry 😁💕💯
Don't "Pungis" with your Fungis ! "REMUNGIS" !!!
🤣😁🤣
Love your shirt , looking good with your orchids
Thank you, I'm trying to blend in with the greenery! 😂🌿
Elles sont sublimes et cette musique leur va si bien😊

JOYOUS 🎉
this time of year really is 😍
Very vibrant, beautiful!😮
They really do make a statement, don't they? 😍
I am just in trouble with the roots they are the only new and healthy roots just trying to grow upwards 🙈in my AC heated indoor dry air . I know what to do but it’s really annoying. I am putting little pebbles to not allowing them to go out and they start to cuddle than pebbles upwards 🤬 I think they are megalomaniac stubborn little naughty roots 😅 Anyway I will have to keep trying to put them down some how anyway. So they are pushing me to be more creative 😂
I guess it is the low humidity that is making the aerial root come out , try adding humidity trays underneath of a humidifier and you might not have as much trouble with them . 😁
Thank you so much! It was a tendance here to put vandas in pots to stabilise them résultats mine never bloomed. Now they are free. Many thanks 👍💖
🫂❤️ you can use terracotta orchid pots without a media , it also works well . These are semi-terete and terete Vanda that I grow in the full sun in the sub-tropics and this is how I grow them ruclips.net/video/2nNOJvWSC3w/видео.htmlsi=q7p1O2EN_I_owNh9 👍💕

I wish there was a way to scratch and smell over the interwebs lol
So, and I realize how silly and total touristy this question is, are there orchids that always prefer growing on a mount rather than being potted? It sounds that way.🤷🏼♀️🤪. Great content, as always!😊 # justanewbietryingtogrowanorchid, yet
yes there are a lot of different ones that you may find difficult to grow in pots but will flourish on mounts , Brassalova , many Cattleya , Paraphalaenopsis , and the list does go on and on lol . Thanks so much . Remember there is no such thing as a silly question . We are all here to learn from each other ..
dont do anything with them
I am also lucky enough to have enough humidity that I can do the same 💯👍 Thanks for you comment we really appreciate it
What an informational video on cymbidium repotting! This is what I need to learn from you. I have a few cymbidium pots that are seriously in need of a repotting ICU. 😁😂 I will go thru each of the steps after the flowering period is over. Thank you, thank you! Love your clear explanation!
We are just glad you found our content helpful, we really appreciate your feedback, thank you 💕🫂
"Perhaps it affects their sensitivities" lol!!! And the loveliest quote is that "we don't own them, we tend to them"... I'm gaining more insight from your philosophy. Thank Peter, may the hand of the universe keep blessing you. Cheers!
💕🫂 Thank you so much , I am speechless THANK YOU 🫂💕
Two of my new cattleya hybrids were potted in ceramic orchid pots last year. Ever since bringing them indoors for winter, a lot of roots started growing outside the pot. I've been misting them 2-3 times/day, but during spring and summer they are exposed to humidity as high as 92%. I've heard that trimming the under performing roots can help stimulate new root growth, but one is starting to branch out.
Yes the under performing root they are generally talking about are the old roots and where the velamen has started to break or be damaged or part of the root have died . By removing these it can help the orchid develop new roots , but remember to do it at the right point in their growth cycle . 👍by the sounds of it you are a great orchid parent lol 😍
How to water them? Do you need to water each of those aerial roots?
just a small spritz bottle to mist the roots will do , yes preferably getting to each of them . Using an evaporation tray below them will also help reduce how much you will need to mist them . 👌👍
10 points = dont cut them off
I agree we should only give points to those who don't cut them off 💯😁
I love the orchid roots that go crazy! Whether it's potted or mounted. That's one reason orchids are so beautiful and interesting!
Yes, there's something so special about those roots! ❤️
Can’t stand your accent
that's ok you can watch the videos in one of the 8 dubbed languages and then you will not hear my accent . I hope this helps 👍
I love seeing aerial roots ! After viewing them, I always feel more "grounded" 🤣
I always feel more ethereal like an airy fairy 🤣🤣🤣
@@thenaturecompany My average winter #'s ; 76 % dt humidity 95 % nt humidity My average summer #'s ; nearer 90% dt humidity nearer 100% nt humidity I leave my air roots to their own devices !!!
make space for me in your garden , I am moving in 😁

You have some beautiful vandas! I have yet to get any vandas. While I think they're gorgeous, I've heard you have to water daily and require a lot of maintenance so I haven't even tried yet. Maybe one day... 😂
These are the terete and semi-terete Vanda , they are super easy to care for depending on your climate , tropical and semi tropical they are hassle free . You can check out my potting technique for them here ruclips.net/video/2nNOJvWSC3w/видео.htmlsi=q7p1O2EN_I_owNh9 . Where are you based ? maybe I can offer some advice on their care for you . Strap leaf vandas are another kettle of fish though lol .

What type of orchids are good for trees
Often Dendrobium nobile are the easiest but it all depends on your Climate , most orchids grow in trees in their natural habitat so if you can match your climate with theirs they will e super happy . 👍
Always beautiful orchids and amazing background music! 😊
Many thanks so nice of you to say 🫂💕

😁Afrikaans is not my fist language lol so at first I thought you were speaking in Dutch . Ek kan verstaan, ek is heeltemal tweetalig . I just need google for my spelling 🤣🤣🤣 but then that is for English too
@thenaturecompany I have never been to Holland but, from what I understand, people wear coats and sweaters there. Long sleeve shirts and trouser's too. But, their tulips are joyous🎉 🤣🤣🤣
🤣 the one thing I do like about the Dutch is their sense of humor and the fact that they don't suffer fool lightly .
Love it. You are soo good at explaining orchid stuff. Ta. Ive got a weird wrinkly bit of leaf on my cymbidium about an inch long. I live in uk, use a plant heat mat and red /blue lights. My oncidium has a bit too. Id buy you a coffee but havent sussed that out yet .
Thank you kindly , much appreciated 😍🫂. If you are getting pleating on your leaves it could be a sign of dehydration or that the orchid went trough a patch that it dehydrated . Perhaps a little bit of inconsistent watering , if you went away lol .
Mine has started growing now. LOL.
It is so rewarding to do it like this 💯❤️I hope you have a lot more success like this
Bravo! The most intelligent, clear, and understandable information I’ve yet come across . . . Absolutely no foolishness about “magic” substances to produce thousands of blooms instantly. People, listen to this man!
Thank you so much for your kind words , we really appreciate it 🫂💕
Mamma Mimbo ! That "Stanhimbo" makes me do the Limbo !! KIMBO !!!
🤣🤣🤣 if that's how you are talking now imagine how you will talk after you have smelt it 🤣🤣🤣
I usually just do it whenever it needs to be done and the plant is not flowering.....even then i sometimes dont follow that rule because sometimes it needs to be done even when it is flowering. I recently had to repot and divide one of my cattleyas that was being overrun by bush snails melting holes in the roots. And even though by all conventional advice about repotting and dividing orchids it was the "absolute worst time" to do those things, both halves are still doing just fine and putting out new growth. In retrospect i probably didnt need to divide them, but the older canes had a lot more root mass and i was worried i would miss some snails. So even though it likely set my orchids back by a little bit, theyre both still growing and living as well as always. 😊
Yes sometimes things need to get done when they need to get done . And for sure if you are not in a rush most orchids can recover from just about anything , it can just sometimes be some of those yellow flowering Cattleya that can be a bit iffy .. 💯💕
That is not a orchid but a Clivia... 😮
maybe you should watch the video again 😘
@thenaturecompany 👍you was right!!
Good morning from the Netherlands, my Phalaenopsis are growing out of the pot at breakneck speed, I repotted them from 9 cm to 12 cm for 4 weeks Back but now they grow out of the pots with speed, after transplanting I gave them orchid food 20/20/20 The plants are about a year old and I also removed the peat pots right away, the roots where almost all good, the bad ones I removed, but they really grow out of the pot
It is always so rewarding to know you are doing everything right . Phalaenopsis always grow extremely fast until they reach a specific size and then grow very slowly .
Great video, thank you
We appreciate your feedback! 💕 Thanks for watching
