PAULA REGO - A STORYTELLER OR A POET?
Просмотров 2 тыс.2 года назад
Is Paula Rego a storyteller or a poet? This video is about one of the most exciting artists of our time who stands out with her limitless imagination and unique insight into the human condition. She was a figurative and deeply emotive artist who rose to fame at the time when art was dominated by the dry pretentiousness of conceptualism. Although she is lauded for her visual storytelling, I argu...
UNDERSTANDING VAN GOGH

Vincent Van Gogh has become one of the most famous artists for the wrong reason. The story of his mental illness and has taken over the story of the artist. The Artist's Shadow - My First Conceptual and NFT Project
Просмотров 6912 года назад
In this video I announce my first conceptual and NFT project "The Artist's Shadow". It is as surprising to me as it is to you. Making conceptual art has never been my thing (except at the end of my video about it, link below). As for NFT - I AM your grandmother, there is no exaggeration here. And now, coming up with a project that is both conceptual and NFT - must be global warming! #theartists...

The Arc De Triomphe, Wrapped was the first work of Christo and Jeanne Claude that I've had the chance to experience live. As with all their projects, opinions about it are divided. In this video I share my thoughts about the Arc de Triomphe before and after the wrapping and give my answer to the question: does the world need it? If you are new to the story of Christo and Jeanne-Claude, I invite...

I feel like in all society, people aren't viewed as always aging, instead as moving further from a more young and more "perfect" version of themselves. There is never a chance for people to think of aging, and its negatives as also a good thing, only as a stepping stone for something else. I also feel like this is why people struggle so much to feel as if they are growing up. If you cannot see aging for both good and bad, as a natural process, it becomes harder to let your body move through that process more gracefully without feeling awkward and lost.

It is very easy to think so cynically, but there is no accounting for taste. There is a girl on RUclips who goes around asking people "if you could have one piece of art, what would it be ? ".. Warhol, Johns, Rothko, Matisse Van Gogh and Munch come up again and again. i never heard anyone say Turner or Degas.

Ridiculing something you don’t understand does not raise your opinion to brilliance. It’s ironic that you criticize their notion that concept (idea) is preeminent when you clearly think that your opinion (idea) is superior.

For artists, the story of basquiat is a cautionary tale. He was chewed up and spit out by the art establishment. The extreme depravity of the scene ended up being lethal. Live fast, die young, leave behind an oeuvre utterly devoid of any aesthetic merit. The cognoscenti meanwhile, will exclaim "ooh"! and "ah"! at what a visionary genius he was, and then peddle his paintings for 100s of millions 30 years after his death. Let that sink in...
