    I has a 73 CJ instead of cutting the body for wheel clearance I made 6" body lifts and it was a lot faster and looked great However nice Job I just bough a1995 YJ it only has a 4 cylinder i don't think I will add larger tires because of the loss of power it will cost on the undersize motor greet video

    What about a cheap and simple shackle and/or body lift? You wouldn't have ruined the hood and side profile. Now the sheet metal doesn't even match. Sorry man. But that was the WRONG thing to do. You butchered it.

    I'm sorry bud but that ain't no build its a half ass lazy way of putting some big tires on . Here's a idea rip the tub off check frame an fix what's needed an tub then flip the leaf springs to the top of the axles front an rear get lockers an a snorkel an make new skid plates list can go on if ya r really into building it but all u have there right now is a mall crawler that ain't a build so no u ain't getting a pat on the back fir being lazy an trying to go on like u worked your guts out to build a nice rig better yet give it to me ill show ya how its done bud

    A great video, however, I tried 35s on my YJ for a short time. Immediately I could tell the larger diameter tire was causing issues when trying to Stop the Jeep rapidly. I decreased the size tire back to a 33 X 12.50 - 15 tire with the solid 10 inch wide tread stance and found a good medium. I did not have to upgrade the brakes on my stock axles.

  • @jasonrussell7085

    That turned out to be a nice jacked up low rider..would have been easier to just put a spring lift under it..you chopped up the whole jeep to fit around those used tires .

    wow - this is such horror torture for the restoration jeep crowd. really wish you hadn't sliced it all to pieces. That's gotta be the cleanest YJ interior I've ever seen (resto's not included, obviously) - you were so close to being able to easily do a factory restore and it would have been worth 3x what it is the you did it - and the really sad thing is it's no loner a candidate to do that. *facepalm*

    I love YJs and TJs and usually, I love watching Jeep restorations/rebuilds, but I honestly had a hard time watching this video. I cannot believe you hacked up that Jeep like that; why didn't you just do a body lift or shock lift instead of destroying the body? To each their own I guess......... any value that had as a YJ is completely gone now.

    • @nickracing6328
      @nickracing6328 2 года назад

      Yes that was a HUGE value on it before. I did it for myself not to sell, and I like it a lot now. You can have yours bone stock and sell it for 5k in 20 years. I would rather use mine every day and enjoy it.

      Personally I would have just put aftermarket fenders but to each their own. Some guys take pride in knowing they fabbed everything themselves.
