My daughter's first hunting trip!!
Hunting has always been a passion of mine. I've slowed down the last several years due to becoming a father, work, moving all over the country for work.. now that we're settled, it's time to get back to what I love and showing my kids.
I look my daughter with me to south Texas to dove hunt on my grandfather's ranch. My grandpa is the reason I loved hunting. Growing up, it wasn't my dad who took me, it was my grandpa. He showed me everything I know about hunting. Now it's time to start passing that knowledge down to my kids.
First up... my daughter! Just turned 4 and has never been! Needless to say we had a tough time getting her to understand why we hunt and kill animals but in the end.. ...

Fishing Net Review: Rising Nets

Just a quick video going over my new 24 Inch Lunker Net by Rising Nets. This is truly one of the best on the market. You can also use this for conventional fishing as well. I posted this video due to the lack of videos on this particular company. I am not sponsored, just sharing my knowledge I've acquired by trail and error. If you have any questions, leave them in the comments below and I will...
Kayak Bass Fishing: Fly Fishing Gear

Hey! Just wanted to get on here and made a video of the gear I've been using. You don't have to have this exact set up because it is pricy, this is just the gear I've collected over the years. It may not work for you and the water you fish! Ask any questions you'd like down below!! My Kayak is a diablo amigo, made right here in Texas! It's the perfect platform for what I do. It has plenty of st...

Lake Whitney Stripers: Fly Fishing For Bass

Managed to get on the Brazos River below the Lake Whitney Dam! With a little luck we added another fish to the species list! Still have lots to learn when it comes to warm water/bass on the fly but we are getting there!! Hopefully this will result in me making more videos. I truly miss fishing and filming. Thanks again for watching! See y'all on the next video!
Kayak fishing Texas: First fish in the new kayak!!
Просмотров 195Год назад
After moving back home to Texas, Zip and I became bored of just sitting around. We have explored and waded a few creeks and rivers but due to most of Texas being privately owned we needed a way to get to the good holes. That’s how we ended up with a Diablo Amigo kayak from @Marinersails. This was our first outing in the new rig and let me tell you… it’s a BEAST. I cannot wait for the adventures...

Dang 12mph towing didn't think it would drop 50% guess im spoiled with the F350 7.3 Been wondering how wifes Tacoma would tow
The videos on your youtube channel are very nice. Your youtube channel video quality is very good. Thumbnails are eye catching. Your channel deserves more views. But there is some problem with your channel. For which your channel views and subscriptions are not increasing. If you say I can share with you.
What psi did you run in the trail grapplers?
@@emfishing8766 it's been so long I really don't even remember
@@TejasFly I gotcha, I’m trying to decide between Nitto ridge grapplers and Nitto trail grapplers. I love the look of the trail grapplers but I tow a bass boat around the state 5,000+ miles a year and drive 300-400 miles a week to school so I’m wondering if I should go with the ridge grapplers. What’s your suggestion?
@@emfishing8766 I had no complaints with my trail grapplers! Ended up switching to KO2s and have ran them ever since
@@TejasFly did they do good while towing a lot?
@@emfishing8766 oh yea. Camper, boat, small 8ft.. they did just fine
Thanks for the video. What's the person capacity for this vessel?
@@Rxking713 i sold the boat years ago and if I remember correctly fly.. it was 3 person but.. I'd recommend only 2
@@TejasFly thanks for the reply. I am currently looking into going from a kayak to a small boat. And there is one on the market that I am eying but there was no info about how many personnel it can carry.
@@Rxking713 they are a great starter boat!
Looking into getting one of these as a first boat to fish the lower laguna madre by SPI. Would you recommend it?
@@JorgeGonzalez-l9j I truly enjoyed the boat while I had it. If I had stayed on the coast I would've more than likely kept it.
Great video bro!
Thats not a waterfall its dam... Taxans...
No shit 😂
Great video, man! My wife and I found this park last summer on the way back from TN to eastern NC. I fished it for about an hour with a tenkara rod and had a ball. Plan on hiking in to camp at one of the BC spots. (subscribed)
It's a fantastic place and I miss going there!!!
Had no idea I could get Buggs jigs at FTU, thanks I’ve been ordering online. 😂
Awesome video. I’m about to move to that area and look forward to learning the marsh. Lmk if you ever wanna fish together
If you ever want to do some fishing let me know! I have a great spot to stay with a ton of fish!
Dude.. I'll take you up on that deal! You have instagram?!
Great video
I just saw y’all’s truck lol and I looked up your user and now you have a new subscriber
Thank you!!! And Welcome!!
I have a 25qt the ice lasted 2 hours
That's so tiny... put that back
If you pay attention, I put all of them back.
@@TejasFly Honestly, they shouldn't come out of the water. My biggest was a 16 1/2 inch, in a stream in Michigan.
Stupid question: Kayaking and drift boating look like a great way to fish rivers, but what do you do about launching and pullout? It looks like hot air ballooning, where you have to get support people, likely paid, to get you started and finished. Am I wrong?
No stupid questions! It all depends on where we are floating. Usually comes down to 4 options. 1) self shuttle- Honda ruckus 2) we have a 2 car system 3) pay an Uber 4) call the wife when I'm almost done with the float. We always have a take out. Could be a bridge, state park, paid parking.. we always have a place
Great video
Thank you!!
Looking forward to seeing where you go with this. I am just learning about Texas fly fishing, primarily from Alvin D of Allwater Guides in austin
I am learning as well. Been fishing for a long time, just converted full time to fly fishing. Thank you for watching!!!
I used to use Gink a whole lot but I found that I have to re-apply that more often vs. a liquid. I’m Not loyal to any specific brand but I personally like the liquid floatant. Also fellow resident of NC, what part did you move to?
I was in Shelby!! Moved back to Texas about 8 months ago!
Absolutely beautiful out there!
I dig the intro
Thanks! Zip is the star of the show as it is 😂
So dod you ever get the boat?
Got transferred to NC for worked. Purchased a raft and a kayak to fly fish the rivers out that way. Then transferred back to Texas a few months back.. idk what kinda boat I'm getting
@@TejasFly right on, you in the oil field ? I'm going to go check out a 2020 piranha raso 14 CC tomorrow. Thought it would be a perfect little boat to get around Christmas and Bastrop areas
@@jamienorman4029 use to be. Now I work for Walmart transportation and a safety manager. All the WM semis you see in DFW are my guys
What boat were you going to get?
What's the name of the guy in San Antonio who custom built your rack? I need one that's at least 32 inches high and can't find one anywhere. I live in Dallas and would gladly drive to SA to get one made. Thanks much.
Sadly he no longer makes them!!
I tell my self every time I launch there, self, get those cleats laying on the tool box for next time I go there so everyone can have a way to tie off their boats. Obviously I forget every time !
The drive the other way isnt that bad if you are going to SA or something. Def a hassle to get to Aransas Pass by land though.
$172 for that soft cooler now. It was meant for a day use. I can do that with my old $5 15 Quart coleman cooler. I also have a 20 quart soft sided Otter box that works fantastic.
Then use that old $5 15 Quart Coleman.
@@TejasFly I do all the time. I am a OTR driver & will be gone up to 5 days in a week. I can throw 5 dinners & put enough lunch meat & cheese in the smaller one with two ice packs & just throw a bit of ice in it. Will last at least 3-4 days with the ice but use a small tupperware bowl & fill that with ice 2-3 times in the week & I am good. I have thrown 22 lb bag of ice in the 28 quart & has lasted me 6 solid days with the meals in it. Maybe I will do a short video of them sometime. When I do I will try to remember & post link as reply to you.
@@BBBYpsi i use to drive. Stopped 5 years ago to become a safety manager. There’s days I miss driving.
Your dog is so excited haha so cute! ❤
This guys face was 90% of the video
And??
Have you had any issues launching and recovering your boat with the Tacoma? I was looking at one with a manual transmission, by boat motor and trailer are 4000 lbs.
I haven't had that boat in several years but i never had an issue!!
What size is the soft cooler
pull the trigger slower. let it surprise you. jerking ur finger like that can throw off ur shots
I fish the jacob fork a lot
can you find trout there?
@@josewithaccent yes they stock it several times per year
yo nice, that's a place I can go to, I think, all other trout fishing areas are way too far away. One question though, when you google Jacob Fork you have the Jacob Fork Access, the Jacob Fork Park, and then in the middle Jacob Fork... which one do you suggest I head to for fishing?@@bradleyhager5756
It's a little heavy for whitetail hunting if you move around alot or track while you hunt. If you plan on getting in a treestand, blind you should be good
I got to go to bed, and I'm watching fishing videos.
Happens to all of us man.
Gold! Bummed you won’t make it next weekend. Mainly because I wanna meet the dog not you…😉 jk jk
Dude I know!! Gotta pay the bills though!! Listen.. my dog goes where I go so you'll get to meet him at some point!! 🙌🏼
@@TejasFly haha our dogs are definitely going to be friends.
@@TejasFly my dog is crazy though… she is at 💯 all the time 24/7
@@CalledCollectiveMedia same!! It's a never ending thing of "zip, look at me, chill out bro" 😂

Man I really appreciate this video! Most of us working family guys can’t afford these $5000 and up overland builds we see on YT. FB marketplace is gold for truck gear. That rooftop tent really intrigued me for my Tundra build, I’m out of Fort Worth so Gun Barrel is a reasonable drive for a killer deal.
Awesome tips on tungsten weights. I know this was posted 4 years ago, but just headed to their website to order this year's weights and they still have the best prices I've seen after doing hours of research. Definitely a like and subscribe from me!
Have you fished here in the winter?
Magazine
How’s does the truck do towing the rig?
Nice video! I bet your fishing partner slept well that night
what psi did you run with the trail grapplers
Hey man love the trailer. I have a similar raft and fish the same waters in NC based out of Charlotte. You get out to the Catawba tail race or east TN yet with it? I’m looking to head out soon myself and learn to row
No sir! In fact I sold it not long ago. Moving back to Tejas!! Those places were on the list to go to, just ran out of time!
Good video. I would recommend shutting off the engine before switching it from water to mix. That way the water pump isn't starved of water. If you notice in your video when you switched from water to the mix your water pump stopped peeing for a second. The instructions even say to shut engine off first.
I sold that boat over a year ago due to moving out to western NC! Never had an issue with the water pump being starved of water switching it over. Now on my big bass boat with a 150, always shut it off but those smaller engines seem to be so much tougher so I never worried about it,
Beautiful area. Don’t catch’m all!!
And also congrats on the family!
