Great job making the best of a not so great situation, Alvin. I had to stop and pee during a marathon last Fall. Felt so defeated! I’ll be running CIM in ‘25, appreciate the recap as it helps with my planning. I’ve heard from many that the rollers in the first half can be brutal!

Hello Alvin! I love all your content, but I've watched this specific one so many times as I'm preparing to run my first marathon ever at the SF Marathon 2024. You've been one of my main inspirations to train as hard as I can, so thank you. Quick question for you -- would you say the pacers were running at a consistent pace even during those long stretches of uphills?

Hey man congrats. I showed up in a lot of the late race clips (guy in the “Daddy’s Money” singlet) and finished 2:50:0x. Happy you had a better finish than I did!

This should be the gold standard for all the race recaps. So happy for you Alvin! Thanks for taking us down the memory lane and I loved hearing about every detail leading up to the race, during the race and afterwards.

Congrats on the sub-2:50 and great job on the recap video. You captured the feelings of many of us marathon runners so well. Especially liked hearing about bonding with others who are only running near you for portions of the race. After my Tokyo finish several people came up to me and spoke about how they had followed right behind me the whole race, as if we were buddies without having spoken a word yet.

Welcome to my neck of the woods Alvin! It looks like you enjoyed it. It was interesting to see it from your point of view. I lived in Banff twice for a total of 4 years..... many years ago.... I am currently south of Calgary. The mountain running videos and pics I have shared with MK are from adventures in the provincial parks that are south of Canmore. I tend to adventure around there now as Banff and Canmore are a bit too crowded. Plus those trails are closer to home. Hope you had a good time up here and that the Banff half set you up for success at Grandma's!
