Framing a Custom Home 3 - EPISODE 2 (End of Day 1, Floor joists, LVL Install)
How's it going guys! Here's the highly overdue Episode 2 of the Framing a Custom Home 3 Series. In real time this episode starts around 2:30 pm and rolled up around 5pm on Day 1 of Framing. This footage was filmed way back in December/February of 2023. Taking a more laid back and longer approach to these future episodes so let me know how you guys like it. I have tons of footage that I'd love to use if people would like to see longer uncut formats! Thanks for watching and I'll see ya next time!

Framing a Roof Cricket/Saddle (SPENCER FALLS!?!)
Просмотров 7 тыс.6 месяцев назад
Here's a little blast from the past! Been missing the best cut man ever the past couple of weeks and stumbled across this old video I had filmed yet never posted. Spencer and I finish some 10/12 roof sheeting and frame up a roof Cricket in order to divert water from this side wall where the 10/12 roof dies in. Hope you guys have as much fun as I did with this video. Thanks for Watching! Follow ...
Sheeting a Roof - For Habitat For Humanity
Просмотров 6 тыс.6 месяцев назад
On this beautifully overcast Monday morning Jarod @Coffmanconstruction and I had the pleasure of sheeting a roof for Habitat. This is one of many jobs on CCI's regular schedule, as the volunteers prefer not to sheet the roofs. It feels awesome to be able to help close up a house that I know a ton of volunteers worked on. This was also my first time dealing with a big party wall where we had to ...

AMERICA 🇺🇸 IS BACK BABY & SO IS THE CERTIFIED LADDER HOLDER! YEA DADDY O!
Welcome back please bring more videos you are a big inspiration
A inspector would question this builder
winging it? we call this a hack job where im from.
Finally back!!! Pls don’t leave keep uploading I love your vids man
So are those actually 11-1/4 LVLs? I’ve actually never seen that…
@@Coffmanconstruction Yessir!
finally videos again
Finally bro, welcome back!!
No Spencers were harmed in the making of this film.
That’s bs without pulling a line to keep cuts square from end to end
I assume pulling a line would be an overkill. There is no need for super accuracy or high precision in this particular application. I suspect these cuts will be hidden behind drywall after basement is finished
Hey, I’m kinda new around here, and was wondering if I could know what kind of math you do for your job? Thanks!
A little bit of 8th grade geometry and trig at times. If you practice working fractions with your tape measure quickly you’ll do well in this trade.
@ Alright. Thank you, man!!
2 years later 😂😂 finally uploaded more on this house 😂 jk
Where have you been !
Best pov framing on here
I didn’t see a mark one that you cut to am I just blind or was this just wingin it?
Pretty much winging it, as long as you’re square and consistent then this method will save you some time. This was a custom with an unfinished basement. Our code was joists and beams can not extend more than 6” past beams/girders. Always fun to do😂
I’ve been waiting for this for a year! Lol
I’m so hyped
Have been waiting for you to upload!!! YYYEAAHH!
Two years later
better late than never
🔥
Woohoo!
Woohoo!
I really wish you uploaded more. Love your videos
When I ask my boss how to do all this I get a okay demonstration and then when I go to do it he tells me “get out the way you’re going to slow” so I’ve never really officially learned any of this
His hand placement at 21:30 gave me anxiety until you had him move it lol
Somone driving by seen him on his phone and probably thought the guy in the basket was doing all the work while he texted his gf lol

Great content man - id love to start doing this kind of work, currently stuck behind a computer but trying to find my way out
I have got to find someone like you to come work with me man. We could sit for hours talking about framing and hand cut roofs. I know you’re having the best time explaining these details to this man. Sharing knowledge with someone who cares is priceless.
The stanley 30ft fatmax is like made for framers with big numbers to 8ft and wide blade and the durability, I love them. I love your videos so keep the vids coming!
What did you use to polish your stiletto?
What kind of Profession / Career would this be considered?
I am a let’s say mature finish carpenter! And man I enjoy watching you guys and I enjoy being around men that like being carpenters!

Dude awesome video loved getting explanation on all this still learning
Amazing video really enjoyed it man
Lots of info for the new guy to learn at once, dudes all over the place and whips out calculator and tries to show new guy that at the same time. Use your framing square, all the info is there , dont need no fancy calculator. Just sayin. Frame on dude
0:58 marillion?
van halen 🖤🤘
just because of the playlist a like
This dude is the type of guy every employer would hire in a heartbeat
are you union
I don’t know anything I do finish! I just think it’s so nice what you did for that young carpenter! Spencer your destined to be a great one ! I am all in buddy !
Great job! I’m a young carpenter also and I need to learn stuff like this but it’s so hard to find a good teacher who will do on job training and not call you a retard 😝. This is needed, if you want the new guy to learn and be independent. In the long run it’s better for the company. You have guys who know what you know and will take it further and produce quality work the way you want.
Great teacher wish I could’ve worked with you for a day or so I’d learn a lot I still learn a lot watching your videos thanks
He's back!
