Hopefully this doesn't get taken down until after Christmas.
Bass line sounds like thunder in the distance during the ballad. Amazing control, amazing sound, fit the ballad perfectly
Pls I am so insanely attached to this
I can't believe this was 18 years ago already....
This era was peak drum corps in my opinion.
forever legend of DCI!!!!!!!
Any other year, this would be a championship winner, the cavs took drum corp to another level that year. Machine and Faust. we don't get many seasons where there are multiple truly transcending performances.
This show was a powerhouse!!!
No trumpets for the ballad was such a cool move, and it worked so well
If you look carefully, after the cross shape, the trumpet players go to the sideline and put the baritones back down and pick up their trumpets...
1978 till 2006 I'll gladly take this version of 👻 regiment please.
thanks for making this
The link for the transcription isn't working, is there any way you can send it to me?
Man, I would love to get the chord progressions for this. It's amazing, or the sheet music. Carolina Crown knows how to produce an awesome hornline.
This is cadets
@12:12 Carolina Crown was PO'd.
@1:46 The overtone!!!🎺😍
Rip the cadets. May you live forever in history
R.I.P the cadets
💔💔💔
Today is a very sad day. Thank you all previous Cadets for the memories and amazing shows
Coming back here too to see one of my favorite Cadets shows (unfortunately never saw this in person). The closer’s company front is one of the best company fronts I’ve watched since getting into DCI
@@Stonkzyhave you seen their 08’ company front in the closer?
Horrible narrative but incredible everything else. I never want to see two goofy looking dudes boxing in a marching show ever again lol
womp womp get over it
I actually think it's a pretty unique narrative and I can't quite see how it could've been visually illustrated without two people performing as boxers. That being said, making people pretend to fight in any musical setting, whether it be plays or in DCI almost never comes out looking that great because it looks clunky when you make it in time and to fake when you don't. It's all worth it though, because this show gave us "the boxer"
As a guard member, drill that intertwined like that in between the brass with high tosses and wide flutters always made me so damn nervous. Shoot, I was twirling MIRRORS my senior year of high school. Our show was called Reflections. We did half the show forward and then mirrored it all backward including the music. It was incredible and the first time we got to regionals as a band in over 20 years prior. That was 2006!
This will forever be a favorite...An amazing show...I never grow tired of watching this one!!!
This show is timeless. Regardless of scores, it will go down as one of the most watched shows year after year. Thanks for the upload.
It’s a tradition to be back here every year
I come back and watch this show every year. Merry Christmas!
Checking In 12.25.23
i fucking love christmas
That time of the year again.
How do you even begin to write battery parts that complex? It seems so difficult to do
I just start off with simple beats. You can do a measure of eight notes, then start to embellish them. With time it’ll come naturally. I’m not a drummer, so my writing is probably not accurate or easy to play, but I just do what sounds good.
@@kyrileal6348 Thanks for the tip
The perfectly timed moth at 11:26.
I auditioned for this show. I wish I could’ve marched 😰😭
One of my favorites
Their guard had an “full on” robot costume, ours is just a silver body suit for this show loll
Way better musically than the winner that year in my opinion. This is so good.
@@DischingoI was there that night. I liked Phantom Regiment better from a musical standpoint. But the Cavaliers were too good in execution and concept.
Man, the whole piece at 4:37 - 7:07 is absolutely magical and gives me chills and goosebumps - Especially the buildup starting at 6:22 up until that last big chord. I remember this one as a kid, but looking back I absolutely love the music from this show.
Bravo! I forget how brilliant some of the "years ago" performances were until I re-visit them...This pertains to all Corps.
5:27
Garden😎
wow, at 12:11, I thought I was seeing Cadets 93, seconds later I saw Cadets 94, and seconds later I saw Cadets 98.
That was definitely the intent behind the drill. I remember it was rewritten at points to go for something classic
Wish I marched when the activity was like this.
Me too (although probably 3 years prior)
Awesome show.
It's the last 1.5 minutes for me! Whew!
Best 2nd place show I've seen
2:40, oh I Love that chord progression ❤
12:10 hey wait a minute
The Carolina Cadets
Is it weird I still clap and cheer at my screen? Lol
MERRY CHRISTMAS DCI FAMILY!
Yep, here we are again at Christmas
Merry Christmas
merry christmas yall see everyone next year!
Awesome farting sound @5:35 😁
Merry Christmas 🎅🏿
Perfect time to watch this
