I'd be of two minds myself, definitely the kin showa and the sakura ,the one with Beni in the dorsal fin, as it's body is probably the best of them all, good length, structure and a clean fish over all. The kin showa will always lose Sumi when stressed, have found the same with my kin ki utsuri and same as mine, it's the reticulation that sets these apart. You can see it more on your chosen one around the head. That's what sets these apart from other varieties. Plus it much cleaner compared to the other two. So it comes down to body or looks? Tough one for sure, depends what they want to see,size or overall quality of the fish. Size the sakura ogon, quality the kin showa in my view. Be interesting to see how well they do for you and hopefully you take homes prize,as it's well earned at this stage. Best of luck and as always, thoroughly enjoyed
@@TerryOConnell-u8j cheers Terry. Yeah exactly my thoughts, Body Vs the quality, plus there is also the consideration of what my actual favourite is 😂😂. I haven't got much experience with metallic varieties and how there Sumi develops and changes so looking forward to learning more. 😊👍
@@OrchardKoi @OrchardKoi you will find that the kin variety don't have the same Sumi as the go sanke varieties, not as thick amd can almost drop totally off when stressed. Have a wonderful reticulation throughout the body, even where the sumo is. I have a kin ki utsuri and a kin shiro,both the same with the Sumi and only in parts does it be jet black,lighter is generally the norm from what I've seen and found. Beautiful fish though and a real stand out. Be looking for the kin showa ,but holding out for a stand out one. Like you said, want that balance throughout. So I'd be of the mind to put it forward, considering all its positives.

Outstanding results, wouldn't pass on any of them and I'd say you are over the moon with how they turned out. Great to see Rickie's ideas put into practice and seeing the end results,having followed from the beginning. Have a lot smaller setup myself,but have similar results size wise. Only thing I haven't got is the ozone,as mine finally packed in. Look out Koi wholesale, you've got tuff competition from the one and only orchard koi 👍EPIC

Hey, its one of them that you tend to ignore thinking you can do it without until you try with 😂. I was the same, the difference was night and day, growth and development literally night and day. My outdoor pond avg from May-Sept has been 18.5, indoor heated 24c. Doesn't seem significant until you experience it yourself. I no longer buy small koi at this time of year. Cheers

Haha @@OrchardKoi not got my head around heating outdoor pond yet. I would consider doubling the size of my current pond but then enclosing it within what I'd call a garden room for entertainment. Then it would be heated but over summer for growing then maintain around 12c. But then I think why not just build a 20k pond in my current koi house!? Dilemma, and then I think there goes 30k in money and the thought process starts again. 😅
@@KoiKicks exactly that it's the money, an this time I don't want to build something I'm always going to say, "wish I'd done that" wish i d done this" , etc. always end up re building, so im sticking with my growing and trying everything before I decide what i want 😂

So basically if i have the fins side inside the canopy and the fan blowing outside the warm air in side should reduce running cost aswell m8
@@leetaylor1501 yes basically. An if you are in the same area as the heated water you'll basically be recycling the heat transfer. I'll see how well this does over the winter 🥶
