Alternate route from Pine to Flagstaff. Upon reaching Flagstaff, we learned of the closure of the North Kaibab Trail in the Grand Canyon. This would mean we have no way to reach the northern terminus of the trail. I decided to end my hike at Flagstaff and return in the Fall to complete the hike.

I loved the video. Spectacular. Epic vistas. Thank you.👍🙏
Thank you for sharing. I'm doing the loop August 2024
Thanks for this great movie guys, greetz from the Netherlands.
"I need to get north!" I'm going to be yelling that the whole stretch, probably, most likely.
I wanna be hiker trash! I wanna do it, i wanna live it!
I’m going to start section hiking in 2026 when I turn 50 but you’ve taught me how important it is to do the entire trail in order to establish a trail family. I might have to do that when I’m 60. Congrats to you! Thank you for sharing!
I think there are pros and cons to both, honestly. It is fantastic to do a full thru-hike at least once in your life. But if sections fit your lifestyle more right now, then do that and just soak it all in. You and me are about same age. Probably both know by now now it’s not the destination it’s the journey. So, go live it in the way that makes the most sense to you and just be present and each day and love it for what it is.
Too bad hiking sucks for you. Why post nothing but negativity? You took away any pleasure/ inspiration I might have gotten by telling me it's really not worth it,etc.... Why even bother then dude?
I really enjoyed your video of the PCT experience. Loved the music selections.
How goes the winter?
Was this in early April?

Loved this production, really, really good! Thank you!
Glad you enjoyed it!
This account of your journey was awesome. Thank you so much for sharing.
Just watched your video- possibly the best I have seen regarding the PCT. Interesting to me how your answers to how the hike was- evolved over time. It made me even more excited to do this hike.- which will be in a few more years. Amazing pics too, really enjoyed it. Thank you. I liked that you said you liked that guy you were on trail. interesting perspective - to acknowledge the difference on or off trail. I hope if you do more videos I get to see them.
Superior job on this PCT video. Your editing and narration were a cut above. Of all the videos I have seen on the PCT. Yours is the most balanced and insightful, as well as, entertaining to watch. It really makes me want to consider doing it myself. Planning to do the first section of it this Spring. Kudos!!!
Thank you very much! Hope you enjoy your hike! I’ll be in the desert section starting March 14th
I'm a bit late to the party, but I wanted to say thanks so much for sharing this journey (all parts)! This is really great storytelling and I appreciate you sharing the emotions you experienced during the trip and some of the mental health changes you experience mid-trip as well as post-PCT. Pretty freaking great cinematography as well. Just subbed and I'm excited to see what's next. The AZT is something I'm contemplating for spring so this was a fantastic watch.
EXCELLENT videos (all six). The photography was great, your comments were appropriate (I even enjoyed your philosophical comments on life), and the music was good too. I love Arizona and you really showed it well. We just got back from summiting Humphreys Peak (wind chill 1 degree F.) and hiking the Superstition Mountains (104 degrees F.) I look forward to more of your videos.
Excellent, thoughtful, and beautifully edited with wonderful music choices. Thank you for the hard work and for sharing your adventure.
Hello, I am Lina, I like your creative content very much. I sent you an email and hope to have the opportunity to cooperate with you.
Brilliant! Great footage and a story well told.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Definitely one of the best PCT documentaries!!!
Wow, thank you!
Very nice video with all the highs and lows of this endeavor.....I'm glad you did this... document ed the scenery....thank you
We must have just missed each other out there. I started at Echo Lake and went CCW on the 18th. What a beautiful trail, and was one of my favorite experiences.
Great commentary and edit! Thanks for posting!
Glad you enjoyed it!
I’m doing this trail Aug 19th I’m super excited
Nice
I’m headed back there in 3 weeks. Counting the hours. Miss hiking in the Upper Left
Another great video. What a good boy your dog is. Miss hearing you talk about your philosophy and mental health. But glad you’re sharing your adventures here.
Hey thank you! I miss talking about that stuff too. I think maybe this trail was so short I never really went down that road too much. All business. 😅
Ya, someone should tell that rattlesnake there's not much to dine on at 7600' in the snow
I want to do this trail with out snow! I was in Tahoe last June and it snowed and was cold so unexpected. Good job and I love your dog!
Thank you! Yes it would be much better and easier without snow. 😊
a mellow pleasure to watch. Lupine stole the show I'm afraid- loved 1:33 & 3:47. Loved bridge at 3:05 & classic landscape at 12:39. I've barely travelled on snow at all, but the few miles I've done told me how tough it would always be. You are having so many great adventures this summer!! jealous!
Hey Clint! Yea Lupine does tend to steal the show!
How would your dog summarize the hike?
Probably his favorite we have ever done.
So good to see you back on trail!!❤
It’s great to be out here! I haven’t really stopped hiking but just behind on making videos. 😂
Great job Magnet!
Thank you!
I hiked that trail early last July, basically 51 weeks before you. It is astounding how different your hike was to mine. Thanks for sharing, but man... Watching this made me miss that trail so much.
I really felt a fondness to this trail. My favorite of the year so far. I don’t know what it is, but just the right mix of everything. Hopefully we can both get back there.
good stuff
Very beautiful and inspring movie !
Great video with amazing scenery - thanks for sharing.
Awesome video! The 2022 class has produced some very impressive work. Yours is one of the best. Thanks for sharing it!
AAWWWWHHHH....BLUE MERLE FUZZIES !!!!
I love that. I lived in Sedona and Flagstaff for ten years. Ten of the best years of my 55 on this planet. I hiked every trail in Sedona. Cleaned the taproom and beer garden at Oak Creek Brewing for a year and a half and drank enough of their beer to swim in. Visited Mother Road the last time I was there. I get back every few years to hike and mountain bike. Flagstaff is still my favorite town. Northern Arizona is one of the most beautiful places on this beautiful continent. Can't wait to visit the north rim again and I'm hoping to hike the Grand rim to rim. Thanks for the video
Very enjoyable thank you
Glad you enjoyed it
What an amazing hike and spot, will make sur eto go there one day. Do you know if dogs are allowed on those specific hiking routes?
Dogs are not allowed because the national park status. And honestly they would really struggle with the rock hopping and the steep climbs.
Enjoyed this very much. I did the La Push to Cape Alava portion of this hike with some friends over fifty years ago. Very special. Much of the hike was over long logs and big rocks on the beach. It's a wonder we didn't break something. Good job on this.
Thank you! Yes we had to walk over lots of big slippery rocks, and logs. I just didn’t do a great job of getting video if that, but it’s still the way you remember.
I am always excited when I see your name popping up and this video did not disappoint. What incredible pictures you captured!
Glad you enjoyed it!
What an incredible and surprising, (unadvertised) hike! You're videos/films are getting so good. What a talent you have. Thanks for putting this together, going there, and showing us this beautiful and amazing wilderness coastline. ❤
Glad you enjoyed it! Thanks April!
Wow, James what an unexpected treat! So many choice moments in that little escapade! amazing videography. Clint 🧡
Glad you enjoyed it! Thanks for your support, Clint. Cheers bro.
Very cool!!! Thanks for showing us.
Thanks for watching!
During the extreme low tides of summer lots to see and you can walk far far.
Appreciate your humility and authenticity--and you have the best friggin music!
Beautiful! Great job capturing the beauty of the PCT!
Wonderful video, thanks for posting it!
