A few months ago I walked up the street where we live to take pictures of a beautiful sunset. Some people who where in the driveway of their home started yelling at me and accusing me of taking pictures of them without their permission. I tried to explain the situation but, as often happens, they would not listen. I would have happily explained the rules and even show them that there were no pictures of them on the camera. The man 'threatened' to call the police and I calmly encouraged him to do so. But he didn't and I walked away.

I was taking a photo one day, of the river where a boat was visible. As I was leaving, I overheard a lady say to her friend, I am going to call the cops.I said this a public area so I can take a photo and other stuff. Other time, I had 3 cops come to my house for taking a photo was legal to take, and one tried to pull bs on me and say I have warned.

Very nice video, thank you so much. FreeCAD has come a long way from its first version to the current Version 0.21.1. Things have become so easy - or they appear to have become easy because you explained them very nicely. Thanks. One thing though, did you creat the top part (lid) of the box simply by creating a new "Body" in the existing file or did you creat the "lid" separately in another file and then imported it in the bottom part file of the box? A short comment would be very helpful. Thanks again.

Might I make a suggestion which could be a bit quicker. The zoom feature changes the the perspective of the screen and the X Y dimensions displayed on the bottom of your screen. So, let's measure the actual size of the workspace. My laptop Y axis Freecad workspace dimension is, say 700 mm. When I zoom to the Y dimension to 700 mm, the screen is set to scale 1:1 . Therefore, I can hold the part to the screen and draw it/ check it. Also, with multicurved shapes, I can trace the object to a piece of paper and temp attach it to the screen and trace. The zoom settings dictate the amount of change per click to adjust the virtual screen size. Knowing the actual screen size is very helpful. I suggest noting it somewhere near the screen display of XY size.

Another way to make the thru hole from your example. With the circle constrained (or not), choose pocket. Set the distance and click symetric to plane. This pockets in both directions. Clicking reverse places the hole in the opposite direction. Think of it as padding a hole. Also, transparency may be changed by selecting the body, and in the view tab (bottom left of screen), scroll to transparency and set value. This can be done mid operation provided continuing the operation with the proper body selected. Ex: while building body B (obstructed by body A), select body A, adjust view transparency as described, reselect body B and continue the build.

An alternative to posts and screw mounts is to model close fitting cavities for the components. This is ideal if the enclosure will be printed

Hi thanks for the video. I see it's 2 years old and things may be different now. I also understand the two examples are used to show the principles involved. However it could make for an interesting new video to show how both these examples could be achieved in the slicer. At least I know it's possible in bambu studio. The first example by add part or add primitive. The second by cutting the part then stretching with scale tool, make the hole bigger with the negative part. Hope to see a new video soon.

1:44 How about telling *how* to minimize perspective distortion? Perspective is depth. You want to get the camera as far away as possible from the parts you're picturing, to compress the depth. Use your greatest focal length for the best result. (FreeCAD's orthogonal projection is like having the camera at an infinite distance, and as a result there's no perspective at all.)

Great video! I see you output instrument gauges to ipads. Have you tried MFDs in MR? I also use OpenKneeboard and VD for passthrough in DCS and they work great. In MSFS, if I pop out MFDs and drag to second monitor, they only work in 2D. In VR, they freeze and don't move for maps, artificial horizon etc. for several aircrafts that I tried.

Blender 3D can edit STL files. Import STL file into Blender3D. Go into Edit Mode. Select points at the top of the posts and move them up. Select points at ends of rectangles and move them. Export model to new STL file.

I did street photography in New York for a while and the reactions were 90% positive. the other 10% are annoyed looks but no one really says anything about it. You are often asked to take photos of people with their cell phones because they probably think: Oh he has a camera that can do that... That can make some people very happy, so feel free to ask to take a photo with your camera for free and give it to them to send by email. Anyway, if you don't take a photo of someone in their face up close without asking, nothing ever actually happens, so take heart.

I need to know if a negative offset in cura actually work with standard end stops? my guess is it cant go lower than homing height?

Thank you 'TECH', you are the first person who showed me how to crack through the Z 0.00 barrier with the M211 S0 command. I have now been able to set the Z OFFSET correctly and I am happy😆

You are a lot luckier than I was in 2019. I left an unattended Bebop battery on charge in my workshop. Some hours later I noticed smoke coming from under the door. I rushed out to the workshop and the sight that greeted me was horrific. The epicentre of the fire, which was well under way, was the battery and the charger. If you've ever seen videos of scooter battery fires, this was a mini version of those. Cutting a long story short, having tried to put the fire out myself, I ended up in hospital on oxygen. Oh - and the bill for the fire damage - workshop contents and building repair - was £30,000!

I was able to obtain the g code file you suggested but did not know if I should save it on a new page or the page that Notepad++ opens up with. AND when I do try to save it I am told I need administrator permissions, which I am the administrator I right click on the Notepad to run as administrator but get the same message.

Oh one other question. AFTER Z-offset is determined and set, shouldn’t a ABL be run for funky beds?

I’ve installed a cr touch a while ago and never understood z-offset enough. Every time I would start a print, I would manually raising and lowering nozzle on the fly. Hopefully now with the knowledge I’ve learned here, that will be a thing of the past. Thank You 🙏

You really must understand why you want to take pictures of strangers. For example, if a photographer takes a picture of a cute girl and someone drives by and notices you taking a picture the driver then takes action yelling at you for being a pervert will have a negative affect on that desire😂😂 it happened to me. The driver drove up on the curb to block me, then got out of her car to yell at me, then ran across the street to inform the girl, al the while yelling pervert at me.😮

I got to the step where I had to go to the negatives on my Z access, but my printer does not go any lower into the negative it just stays at zero. Is there any fixes please help?

I have been searching and searching and searching for someone to explain in true beginner's terminology how to set the sed-offset. FINALLY someone who speaks a beginners language? I can't thank you enough. If you held classes i would attend. I have one question do you have a video explaining the g-code. I downloaded Ultimaker CURA because that is what someone said was good. Now not so sure. If I need to download OctoPrint I will. Thank you.

The only thing I'd do differently from the sketch to hole through is to pocket it and tick *symmetric to plane* and then hit *through all* . This pockets in both directions and you don't have to move the sketch off the plane.

Thank you for the video. I just got a sub 250 gram drone. Am I required to Log my flights? I can't find any information for this size drone.
