A match made in Heaven -- how did the two meet?💕 I would love to follow this obvious romance without social media frenzy 🎉
It's 2024 and I'm just seeing this??? This is such a thoughtful performance and Kate Liu revealed to me the dream and tragedy of this piece in such a sobering way. The fast parts are still virtuosic but at its core is incredible musicality. I am deeply moved by how she shaped this music. Bravo Kate Liu!
Also be sure to listen to how a polonaise becomes a fantasy - ruclips.net/video/rC0LRS_v4AE/видео.html
I can finally hear a second voice or echo, filled with longing of character from a Checkhov play.
I listen to her performing this work by Chopin over and over!
Where is the full video?
Tief bedeutsam!!!!!❤❤❤
A lukewarm applause for an splendid Ballade, and a splendid artist who has really interiorized Chopin's music, so much so that she seems to have forgotten the concert hall altogether. As it should be. Unfortunately today's audiences are much more enthusiastic about the histrionics of circus monkeys like Lang Lang.
Completely agree. This was so different and I really loved it.
Something sublime and profound is being externalized. Not rushed. Every note and phrase counts but is stitched together to create a peace that lingers. I must revisit and learn more and be refreshed again and again.
Record this please.
I just checked no recordings. Seems a shame.
Two young angels playing the most beautiful music
Bravo 🎉
NOBODY plays this better - dear Alex, may you go from strength to strength xxx
A very difficult to make "work". That Kate manages this is a miracle!
Beautifully played and phrased. She's just a stunning performer.
来日してほしい…。CDも出してほしい。ジャパンアーツさん、頑張って招聘しておくれよ~
My favorite pianist. She should have won the competition
Such talent! The work needs to hear, bravo
An astonishing rendition of Sonata No12. Arsenii Moon's talent is a rare gem. I listened to his live performances, his sound is exquisite. Bravo, Mr. Moon!
Absolutely wonderful performance. The best I've heard so far! Bravo!!
It's a great performance, but you should definitely also check out Alexei Sultanov's version of it, that's my favorite interpretation.
Спасибо Ребята ! Баку .
Spectacular. Worthy to stand beside Rachmaninoff himself. Praise can go no higher. The slightly more relaxed tempo allows the music to breathe, and all the delicious details shine. Just beautiful Bravo!
I thought this was Choppin Blades by UGK 😞😭
I was craving to listen to this piece, and wasn't happy with Rubestain, but omg, I just love her performance...such a beautiful interpretation of Chopin
Same here.
Rubestain.. 😂

Quel Recueillement ! Bravo KATE ! Je vous découvre par ce morceau....
This is an awesome interpretation. Freaking HEFTY but still clear. You hear things you don't hear in other renditions, even Horowitz, which is wild.
ちはちゃんれんれへ い😢
I liked much of this very much. I used to play this and I've heard it from most everybody. I love that Ms. Liu is a wonderful artist that has something to say. The first half is just a little too slow for me. I am usually begging for somewhat slower tempi, but it can get bogged down and a little too agonizing if not careful. The second half was wonderful music making, exquisitely played. I liked the 2nd half so much that I'm inspired to go back to it and play it that way.
Kate liu ballade no 1 here is actually a standout within all the similar ballade performances by other pianists
I am not thrilled by this interpretation, but she is in ecstasy like I have rarely seen in a pianist. I'd love to know what made her play it this way and indeed their art parts that are virtuoso in spite of my hesitancy to fully embrace it.
BTW, I did a little background research, and she has done Van Cliburn and other major festivals and she is truly incredible like Yuja Wang.

CQFD
I mean, I am at 15 minutes into the program there is NOT ONE single mistake in the text, the phrasé is genuinely sensitive, spectacular, the eloquence only comparable to the great ones. The Beethoven is at the Arthur Schnabel level. So what was that deplorable jury thinking? Scandal, scandal, scandal.
It was flawless and they eliminated him. Ask yourself why? Asians always get this treatment, but I wrote about it immediately for the scandalous lack of integrity of one of the worst jury member's little insider contract. Warsaw would correct Moscow.
