2015 Buick Encore Door Lock Motor Replacement - Trax Chevrolet GM
This video shows the steps to replacing the door lock unlock motor inside the GM latches.
Will need a T10 and a T20 Torx bit to open the latch bodies. The motors just pop out and click back in, no soldering needed.
Motors can be ordered from Ebay Seller azgiant_will
AZgiant also seems to be on Ailexpress with the same parts.
The Ebay Description used was : Central Latch Door Lock Actuator Motor DC280 FC280 for Chevrolet Buick 1020653
1020653 is the part number written on the factory motors.

Repaired the Cubby cover by re-glueing the bars to the fabric. I used E6000 adhesive but a little bleed down to the sides so some bars stuck together. Getting them unstuck might have dis lodged them from some parts of the fabrick. Will see how long it lasts with the CA heat!! One tip. Do not turn on the car while you have the center console out and the Passenger Airbag sensor unplugged. It sets...

In this video I used 6 ohm 50 watt resistors to take the place of factory taillights. Works good, resistors get really hot. Need to find a way to dissipate heat.

IN this test AU Holden Factory LED taillights are wired in the same way a trailer would be. Using a CURT #56196 2 to 3 wire tail lamp converter module. The next step would be setting the right resistance to eliminate the factory taillight bulbs all together. This is a video about the micro switch that goes bad inside the Caprice PPV door latch. This is the reason the radio stays on when you open your door because the latch is not sending a good signal that the door has been opened. . This is a drivers door latch out of a WM 11-13 PPV.

This is a test to see if the DRL circuit actual sho]uts off when the headlights are turned on when in auto mode. Since the low beams are used as DRL I was not sure if the DRL circuit actually shut off when auto lights commanded on by the light sensor. Good video. I bought a 2015 Encore today and just noticed that one rear door lock isn't electrically actuating.
So just a question with the SS interior wiring harness does that ad the connectors for the Bose amplifier, Dash center speaker and door speakers or will I need more than one harness
Yea everything that is in the SS gets transfered over. The bose AMP and another cruise control module gets mounted where the PPV's Aux battery is located so the wires do not reach for those. So i mounded the AMP to the underside of the rear shelf so as not have to extend any wires.
@@stevew9563 ok so besides wiring will I also need the SS body control module and the cruise control module in the rear just trying to order everything I’m gonna need in 1 shot. I appreciate all the information.
Thanks for the great video. Bought same actuator from eBay. Installed it on the left rear door of a 17 Buick encore. Power door lock works great. Assembly was tricky for me. Suggest taking pictures when you first split case apart. Be careful with door ajar limit switch.

How can I remove a wire from the splice pack?
Ah good question. But if you want to test a curcuit you do not really need to remove a wire. Removing the white comb isolates all the wires so they can be tested individually. BUt to removing I find a standard pic can grab the tang holding them in most of the time. Just not sure where it is on that particular connector. Ususally you enter from the front and pull the tang away from the terminal.

Do they really save that much money on each car by taking away Amber bulbs. Turn signals should always be Amber. Great video.
The original amber turn signal is too small to meet US regs. The brake light is obviously big enough, and can serve both purposes. The alternative is a complete redesign of the whole tail light. To be fair, they could have used both clear portions for an amber turn signal and relocated the reverse light down to either side of the license plate, for example. They didn’t because they don’t have to. So ofc they did save some money by doing it this way.
YOu can see at 2:32 of the vid a bit of a delay where the brake light lights up the turn signal before the module does it's correction. May just have to live with that.
If that is possible with a 1990 Chevy Caprice, even swapping a new modern Corvette or GM Duramax Turbocharge diesel engine, that is a great one to do. Even changing to higher top speed speedometer must be done for this kind of possibility.

Did you ever figure it out or find out what to do? I’m interested in converting my caprice to manual.
What year you have Brian? I have found the 14+ pedal assemblies from the SS and PPV swap over no issues. Already holes in the firewall for the plumbing and all. I had the luxury of grabbing the pedal assembly from an SS but I am not sure if the parts are available separately to convert a auto pedal assembly over to a manual. Looks like it could be done but I have not been able to find a good diagram of the parts needed and/or if they are available.
