I just came for the test 😢

I'm from Argentina so I don't know how much of this will apply to other countries but, for what is worth...the worst part is when they shove the tube on your nose. They gave me some sort of local anesthesia but I could still feel the tube moving. It was painful and made me want to go gag. However, the insertion only lasted like one minute and after that I almost didn't feel the tube. I was just lying down calmly being told to swallow water or not swallow. Definitely wouldn't describe it as traumatizing. I've experienced way worse (longer) aches during my life.

Notice how they don't include the part where they numb your nose and get brain freeze, or putting the torture snake in and out. I just had if done an hour ago. Simply refuse I'm not trying to scare anyone maybe the nurse I had was rough because I've read others who said it was a breeze but when she was removing it she kept pulling but something was pulling against it so it caused intense pressure and some pain. I actually don't know what's the point of this exam other than research. It's not helping diagnose anything really. I had to keep restarting because she said I was stopping in between sips of water but she wanted me to take full cup at once but I couldn't because I was gasping for air. Even when putting in the thing in my nose which looked like led lightstrip my son has in his bedroom 😆 she asked me if it was in my throat yet and I'm like aren't you supposed to know this 😆 I hope everyone else has a more skilled nurse because seems other ppl had a more comfortable time

I couldn't get mine done bc it hurt my throat, i was able to swallow it without gagging but for some reason it hurt a lot like it was poking my throat

It’s so easy! I didn’t gag one bit. If you just listen to the doc, you’ll be just fine! Hardest part was not swallowing because I was thinking about it.

Why you performed the test in near sitting position? While it is recommended to be performed in supine position

Can you be put to sleep for this test?

Omg did this test yesterday all I can say it’s not fun completely torture (Esophageal Manometry study and right after that test was done I had to do the ph acid reflux study they keep the tube for 24hours through ur nose in your stomach that’s the worst part and specially if the nurse is not so good she did this again and again like 4 times I was about the punch her in the face but this morning the toke out the catheter no fun at all who ever is reading this please prepare your self for worst thing you might have gone through in your life ☹️

This is a nice edited cut where hes able to keep it together. This is torture big time. You are gagging on the tube and if you gag ar wretch they reset the clock and make you start over. its very hard to deal with

I have had it done!!! Never again!! I have had two big babies would rather go through labor!!!!!!
