Question- so you add the backing after you bake the first time and then bake it again? Don’t you risk burning it?
@@asteinb2 yes! You can actually rebake polymer clay pieces over and over again as long as it’s at the right temperature.

Hi so im relly late to the video but how thick should i make the clay i been having issues with them breaking after i bake them.
Hi! When the clay breaks after baking, sometimes it's the brand of clay you use or that it hasn't baked long enough. Make sure your temperature is accurate and with polymer clay, you can rebake pieces so you can always pop them back in the oven if you feel like they haven't cured properly.

You can actually buy clay softener & thinner if your clay is crumbling too much and too hard to work with.

how thick do you make the base of the earrings to ensure they dont snap? Also do you put the Sculpey III clay through the pasta machiene too?
Usually just the widest setting on the pasta machine. The sculpey iii can be put through the pasta machine but I don’t use this for my base as it breaks easily. I’d only use it for the designs.

You can use a tool to press pieces down or even wear gloves to avoid fingerprints.

Yes you can! And you can seal it off with resin after baking if you’d like.

Since I’m using a pasta machine to roll the slab out, it’s usually just the widest setting on the pasta machine.

Yes, I do use liquid clay especially if I need to attach pieces together after baking.

Thanks for the amazing explanation! I have issues after cutting the Earrings off and then putting them on the baking plate. They usualy loose their form or get a bit curved. I have no Idea how to solve this… how do you do?
