    If you're going under the joists like that, why not a steel I-beam? I just did that in my garage to get rid of a support/lally post, and steel was the same cost as an engineered lam beam.

    • @SeMoArtifactAdventures
      @SeMoArtifactAdventures День назад

      @@bnasty267 that’s just what the engineered drawing called for. We were able to put each beam up close one at a time and then nail them together once in the air. It’s a whole lot less to lift that way.

    • @bnasty267
      @bnasty267 День назад

      @@SeMoArtifactAdventures Makes sense. The I-beam required a lifting jack and 2 other guys helping. If you do these often enough, it's worth considering the jack or rental, since it's hard to beat a nice I-beam. If you're doing hangers, I'd totally just use a lam to make it easier with no steal drilling.

    There was a huge swamp up towards the Great lakes area. I think they called it the Black swamp, not positive of that. How big was the swamp where you hunt? before it was drained and turned to farm land.

    • @SeMoArtifactAdventures
      @SeMoArtifactAdventures 2 месяца назад

      It was massive. It’s one of the largest engineering feats of all time. There is some cool videos on here about it. It’s called the little river drainage project. It’s a big system of canals and levees that divert numerous creeks and rivers out to the Mississippi River. There are still small protected areas of the swamp that still remain. Most of them are full of Indian mounds.

I wasnt into Arrowhead hunting to much then, but i am now. Wish i had that property now. That is crazy that was a swamp, it is good to know not all the mounds were destroyed. Its it private property or state property were the existing mounds are. Sorry for all the questions, im a new subcriber to your channel. Even though ive watched some of your videos from before. @@C.M.R.Artifacts-qu1ey most of the mounds are on protected wetlands sites. Some are privately owned but they are still protected. I’m not sure how that works. The swamp covered multiple counties. It started just south of Cape Girardeau and runs all the way down into Arkansas. I’ve seen some old maps of southeast Missouri when there were several huge lakes that covered most of it. Most people have no idea they live in the middle of it. It’s got a lot of points in it. It runs into the Mississippi River about 4 miles down from where I was at. In the 1700s there was a trading post that was set up to trade with the native people. I keep thinking one of these days I’ll find some beads or a trade pipe. A guy can dream right.😂

    Dang man, that hammerstone is killer. I'm spending the next 3 weeks in Cape Girardeau. Any chance I can tag along on a hunt with you? Lol seriously though. I brought a bunch of points and pottery from GA with me. I'll trade ya for hunt.

      Man if I had more places to hunt I would. All my fields have already been planted and the village site as already been picked over until it rains again. It’s hard for me to even find time to go myself. That’s why most of my hunts are filmed by myself. I rarely get time off when other people are off.

    Where i hunt at i found half snappers like that bird point you found. The dang cows tear my spot up as well!

      Those cows break so many artifacts up there on the village site. I have literally seen cows standing there with huge pieces of pottery sticking up between their hooves. Years ago I found a really nice point in one of their tracks. It was standing up on it base like it slid right between its hoof.

      @SeMoArtifactAdventures silver Mines is some of the best smally fishing you can do! Anywhere on the st. Francis is good arrow head hunting!

      @@devinpinnon4209 for sure man. Catchin smallies is one of my favorite things to do. I just restored an old cabin on the st Francis down around Lodi. We were catching huge bass on that section. Both smallmouth and largemouths. I didn’t want that job to end. 😂. We were staying there through the week while we worked on it. Catching fatties every night.

    A couple of nice ones.. yeah dogs are annoying as all get out. One of my entry points on one of my creeks has a momma and 4 babies who follow me. Good luck on your next outing.

      Thanks. It really made it difficult to film anything. I’m just glad they turned out to be friendly. It didn’t seem to be the case when they first charged me out of the woods. 😂
