Silent Backpacking Big Pine Lakes
Another amazing trip to end the fall season!
As always, this was a bit of a last-minute adventure. I was lucky to find an available permit just seven days before the trip, which started on a Friday. I asked my boss if I could take Thursday and Friday off, and he was okay with it.
I actually started the trip on Wednesday, heading to Yosemite Valley since it’s about halfway for me, and I stayed the night at Camp 4. The next day, I spent a beautiful morning in the valley, capturing some great shots of the fall colors. In the afternoon, I headed toward Bishop, making a stop at some hot springs near Mammoth Lakes, which were stunning. I arrived in Bishop and stayed at a hostel. Everyone there wa...

Silent Backpacking Inyo National Forest

As always, this was a last-minute trip! I checked for permits just in case, and I found one on Wednesday that someone had just canceled, starting on Saturday. I asked my boss if I could take Monday off for a two-night, three-day trip, and he was okay with it! The next day, Thursday, work informed me that there wasn’t much to do on Friday, so if I wanted, I could take it off. I packed all my gea...
Silent Backpacking The Lost Coast Trail

This trip was one of the most unexpected, unplanned, and also one of my favorites. Two days before the trip, I checked online and saw that there was one permit available. Without even thinking about it, I got it! I had heard about the trail and seen some videos of it before, but I had no clue what to expect. I started planning the same day I got the permit, trying to decide if I should go a day...

Backpacking Desolation Wilderness "Zone 44" After getting off work early on Friday, I decided last minute to head to Lake Tahoe and go backpacking for one night. I drove to the Placerville Ranger Station hoping to get a walk-in permit, and that's exactly what happened. I ended up getting a permit for one of my favorite areas in Desolation Wilderness, Zone 44! I arrived at the Pyramid Peak parki...

Backpacking "The Pohono Trail" in Yosemite National Park. This last Thursday I decided to go to Yosemite with no plan even though it was Memorial Day weekend, luckily I was able to reserve a spot in Camp 4 with the hopes to wake up the next morning and get a backpacking permit. The next day, I head over to the Wilderness Center and ask for any Walk-in permits available. Luckily, they had one le...
Backpacking Yosemite During Auroras

After looking at the weather all weekend without knowing about the possibility of the Northern Lights appearing, I decided to head to Yosemite after work Friday. I had no reservations, no permits or place to spend the night. Hopefully a friend let me join them at Camp 4 and that was the beginning of a magical weekend in Yosemite. After setting everything up and had dinner, I looked at the sky a...

Silence Backpacking Trip in Desolation Wilderness (Zone 44 Ropi Lake)
Why would anyone want to destroy such beauty?🎉
If you can ever catch yosemtie valley on a clear night with a full/nearly full moon and snow on the ground its absolutely amazing. The only thing I've ever seen cooler than that was everything covered in hoar frost also at yosemite
Beautiful 💜
Wow. Is this upper Yosemite trail?
Fantastic. Love the way this was filmed. Well done. Obiligatory "what type of camera did you use?"
Thank you so much! I use FujiFilm XH2
👍🙂
Love the format! This alpine weather is just surreal. You never know what you’re going to get! So much fun. Thank you for sharing
Thank you so much for watching! Truee! It was an amazing experience!
Nice job my friend 🏕️ Love the adventure ❤
Thank you so muchh Scot! 🙌🙌
Love that you had a beer on trail and you had a natural way to cool it down. Cheers to this whole video!
Thanks so much! It definitely hits different when you're out in the wild like that.
Where would this be?
cathedral lakes
in yosemite
I’m trying to plan a trip to Big Sur do you have an instagram I can dm you on to get some advice ?
I really enjoyed the video and the images, thanks so much for bring it here!
Thank you for watching!
What trail is this?
Timber Top Trailhead!
Quiet and serene, just like the nature we all want to experience and why we are looking into backpacking videos. Honestly, I'm kinda jaw-dropped from this video. The whole silent concept is just my style. Damn, it's a concept I might even enjoy making videos with. And I'm too camera shy to make or share videos of myself! If anything, I like to show off the nature. My god, man. I tip my hat. I subscribe. I'll check your channel. I hope you make videos every so often. Once a month is cool. Maybe just for half the year when the season suits it better. I kept thinking: "How are you not getting bogged down in humidity around camp time, in the tent or sleeping bag? I live on the lost coast. It gets cold and damp. Edit: I forgot to mention your cinematography is gorgeous. I'm also a bit biased from loving this area and its unique weather.
Thank you so much for this comment! Im trying to do as many videos as I can, so hopefully dropping another one soon! Regarding the humidity and condensation, I had the best days I could possible asked for but during the day it amazed me how it went from being sunny to foggy back and forth. Once again, thank you for watching and subscribing!
water must've been cold when u jumped in, nice and refreshing though I bet. what a beautiful place
It was actually not that bad! Thank you!
It’s hard to believe such beautiful places exist. I hope I can see them in person one day! Well done. I used to watch Erik Normark’s channel but he stopped making videos. Your videos convey the similar feelings of solitude and beauty.
Its never too late to get out there! This place is absolutely magical. Thank you so much for watching!
Wow, that was some brilliant filming. You really captured the essence of the trail - a very beautiful place. I also enjoyed the solitude with no talking. Looking forward to your next adventure!
Thank you so much! I appreciate the feedback. Funny fact is that I actually tried to film this video and talk in it but I didnt like it at all. I love how it is just silenced!
If this is in your top 3, what are the other 2? I'm lookin for another adventure lol we just got back from the lost coast as well and had a blast
Thats awesome! Hope you had a good time. I will say Yosemite and Inyo National Forest! Also Desolation Wilderness as well
@@theadventurerguy Have been to both Yosemite and Inyo but never backpacked, and never looked into Desolation Wilderness will be looking into that now haha thanks
Sometimes I wish I can just go places like this for months
100%! Start by going hiking, then you will most likely get into camping and then backpacking! Its definitely a life changer and camping on this spots is absolutely incredible!
The music is bad
Really beautiful scenery… wonderful
Many thanks
What stunning scenery. I’ve watched several videos in this area but really enjoyed the way you captured the scenery and the music is nice, it compliments and adds to the vibe.
Thank you so much 🙌

Great video as always. The whole logistics of this scares me away with all the driving, shuttles, etc. Awesome you just figured it out lol.
@@rodoutdoors Thank you so much! Its actually not that hard to plan it!
Nice 👍
Excelente video!!!
Que fantástico lugar, único en el mundo.🌎 😮
fiiiiiiiire bro
@@shabba3082 Thank youu🙌
Stumbled across your channel and subbed. Great vids! What you think the add on milage going back and forth to get the camera do you think that puts on a hike is this length? I see alot of these types and always wondered but never asked
Thank you so much!! It adds a lot! I always plan to have around 25% more of what the trail would take just for filming. It does take a lot of time and its definitely harder than what it looks like
Which lake?
I hiked to cathredal lake from Tioga rd in 1997 it was awesome. In aug. It also snowed
Sweet shots. Really makes me want to get out there. Great video 👍
Thank you so muchhh🙌🙌
