    Hi there! Great breakdown, great video, and great studio! I'm thinking about getting an Elgato but worried it's a wee bit too small for my project - mostly I'll be standing 3 to 6 feet from camera and shooting long form content - think it's good at that distance or should I think about something bigger?

      @@KenOkazaki Thanks, Ken, much appreciated. I wanted to let you know that I’ve just launched my podcast series. It’s been a while in the making, and I recorded the first session in a studio. Here’s my plan: if we receive positive feedback from session one, I’d like to start recording remotely in person (outside of the studio), and remotely. For that, I'll need to handle the recording myself. Do you think your GoBoxStudio would deliver great results for in-person video podcasting? Typically, there will be two people involved. Also, would you recommend swapping out the Canon for the Sony ZV-E1? Should jump on a call, but don't want to waste your time, until I see how the first session 1 goes :)

      @@ianmarkram8460 The GoBox is totally the way to go for in-person video podcasting on the go. The rig in this video is better for a stationary setup, but there's no way I would choose this over the GoBox for a traveling kit. In terms of camera, I'd keep the Canon that comes with the GoBox because of the size and weight, which are serious considerations when traveling.

    • @KenOkazaki

      Yep. Use OBS, Streamyear, Ecamm, or any major streaming software. Set your video feed as the background. Put your text as white on black and share it as the foreground. Set the transparency to "screen" to erase the black background. Done! However... careful when shooting video with a bright background, as it will affect the contrast in the recording.

    Hey @KenOkazaki, just wanted to give you an update on my testing last night! I followed your recommendations in the video and ordered the items necessary to integrate them into my setup. Currently, I'm using a custom production PC along with a teleprompter setup (not Elgato), which includes a field monitor and a Sony ZV-1. Additionally, I've incorporated an Elgato FaceCam as a second angle alongside the teleprompter, a Rodecaster Pro 2, a Stream Deck+, and the Samsung Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra for annotating PDFs. I followed your instructions on connecting with the iPad in expert mode, and it works well. However, the only drawback is that I can't achieve a clean HDMI output without displaying unwanted icons from the dock to viewers. Nevertheless, I'm content with this for now, considering the incredible functionality it offers for educators and creatives. Next, I utilised OBS to arrange the camera angles and scenes according to my preferences. I then set up these scenes in the Stream Deck software and activated the virtual camera option in OBS to transmit the scene setups and changes to StreamYard software for streaming. While I'm not currently using this setup for Zoom, it's primarily geared towards planning future livestreams on RUclips. I tested it with a software called UPDF to annotated PDFs and it seems to work well, I will test it soon with other software like goodnotes or whatever is available on android for now, and maybe in future i may move to an iPad but for now this functionality is really the solution to what i was trying to achieve. I'd like to express my gratitude for creating the video and for your responsiveness on Instagram. Your kindness and generosity are greatly appreciated. I've already shared the video with several contacts in my private Telegram/WhatsApp groups who are interested in similar setups. If I have any further questions or potential enhancements to this setup, I'll be sure to reach out. Thanks again!

      @@KenOkazaki Apologies for my absence; unexpected events cropped up this week, disrupting my plans entirely. Nonetheless, I'm back momentarily. Currently, I'm utilising StreamYard for my streaming needs, and I'm keen on incorporating dual-camera functionality along with sharing a screen possibly using a drawing display like Artist Pro 14 (Gen 2) /ipad (but to know both avenues would be great). Here's what I aim to achieve regarding streaming and text coverage: Firstly, I require the capability to open a PDF, annotate it in real-time as I navigate through its pages, and exhibit this process on the stream. Meanwhile, a small primary camera would be focused on me, addressing the audience. In the event that I opt for a physical book instead, a top-down view of my workspace, capturing the text, would be the preferred setup. Thus, flexibility is paramount, as there may be occasions where I need to switch between a PDF and a physical book during the stream. Additionally, I'm considering integrating a Stream Deck, potentially in conjunction with StreamYard and OBS, to incorporate custom animations for transitioning between camera views. This may involve utilising plugins to facilitate smooth transitions. Obviously there is a teleprompter in the mix too can you help with this please? Also messaged you via IG incase you wanted anymore clarification on the setup

    • @KenOkazaki
      @KenOkazaki 3 месяца назад

      Easy! I shoot in 4k or higher and crop in. TikTok, Reels, Shorts all max out at 1080p, usually smaller, so there is no resolution lost. Use wider lenses to capture the height if needed. I want to shoot and re-use for both tall and wide formats. For example, this videos are shot in 8:7 format (almost square) so I'd crop about the same amount whether it's for portrait or landscape. Also, turning a regular camera sideways limits the compatibility with a lot of teleprompters and streaming software. When I shoot on my phone for reels, then it's going to be shot in portrait.
