The regular 1up will hold 75lbs. Don't need this for a eMTB.
Actually Price is very close here in Germany so I assume then 1040 is the better pick, correct?!
How do they fit on your face? I have a slightly wide face. Are they good for that kinda facial profile?
I have a Tallboy and my wife has a M4SL. The M4SL is much better IMO for what we ride and how we ride (Simcoe county area Ontario Canada). I don't find the jeep-like feel (Tallboy) very rewarding.
Hmm for the price point as an prospective first time purchaser.. silencing them would have my royally throw my dolls outta the pram 😅🤣💣
@kermit56780 - They do make a great noise!
Hey Elroo, What kind of rotors are you running on your Trail 429? I replaced my pads and beaded in but it still squeals like hell with my Shimano rotors. I was thinking of getting a pair of SRAM HS2 2mm rotors. Maybe even upgrade to 200mm in the front. Any thoughts or are you still on the ICE rotors?
@GaryMetzker - I have kept to Shimano rotors. I keep buying the XTR rotors, but to be honest I'm not sure they perform or last any better than the XT ones. The 2mm rotors may not get as hot, and the 200mm if they will fit will give you a ton of heat resistance.
@ how often are your replacing your rotors? I’m one year into my 429 pads were glazed over. I’m Kind of wondering if the rotors are toast too. They are straight enough.
@GaryMetzker - On the 429 they lasted about a season is all, I think I got something on them and they glazed over along with the pads too. It may have been soap or something silly like that. The pads seem to be easier to clean and then sand to refresh. The rotors are harder to clean up and more expensive to replace too. I now try to wipe them off with rubbing alcohol when I clean the bike to make sure they're good to go.
Thank you! What a nice way to deliver such complicated thing.
@ysaroya1 - Thanks!!
BUT, EXACTLY WHERE are you applying the lube? To each roller, or to everything?
@shawnalove5050 - I put a drop of oil on each roller. Tedious, but way less messy.
I just swapped out 44 T chainring for a 38 T using a Bafang BBSO2 with a 11/44 cog. The motor started to get very hot climbing a huge paved road. I couldn’t help but ghost pedal. This is probably gonna make ghost pedal worse. But hopefully the motor won’t overheat.
They are excellent tires and roll fast but are not super durable. You need to inspect them before every ride after about 1,000 miles of use. I've been running 32s on my endurance bike and 34s on my flat bar bike. Both bikes have hookless rims and the Vittoria Next tires fit like a glove.
@gkame8501 - These tire do seem to wear out rather quickly. I noticed the outside casing began to have holes after about a 1000 or so miles. I ended up replacing them. Great tires, but short life span.
It's a very sincere video. Even though I don't understand English very well, I decided to choose this repair stand based on the review in the video.
I keep seeing folks trying to release the locking bar with a load on it and it won’t come out easily. Seems if you picked up the rack slightly that the bar would move easily. 🤷♂️
i upgraded to these wheels with my firebird - i do like them however bearings life isn't the best, debating going to ceramic bearings for the next set - my favourite part of mine is the dhx shock and least favourite is the XT brakes - switching to Magura as soon as i can find time to install them! I was trying to get the Albert radial tyre from Schwalbe for the rear after killing 3 tyres in 4 rides but getting hold of one proved almost impossible (in the trade as well, so god knows what was happening) do enjoy the dual Assegai though, fast, grippy and comfortable - just wish it had a 250w Bosch CX!
830 faster to start faster at loading maps, no bugs or freezing issue and beyter navigation 😂😂😂😂
My Thule T2 XTR not as cool (Kashima Coat) and easy but got it slightly used on OfferUp for $350
I hear waxed chains don't do well in the wet and need topping up after each wet ride. Bearing in mind that it's almost always wet when i commute to or from work does that mean I'm better off sticking to using wet lube once a week?
Buy yourself some magura MT7s and a set of Shimano XT M8100 brake levers. Mix the two together and you have the best brakes Ive found yet! Besides for maybe Hayes Dominion A4s, but I dont wanna deal with DOT fluid so Shiguras it is!
Great quality. Poor ergonomics
I had 840 for a month and returned it since it was too small. And with so much reflection on the screen along with brightness being a concern, small size 840 for maps and live climb data is too difficult to read. I would highly recommend to go for larger GPS such as 1040 or Hammerhead Karoo 3
Does this fit on the underside top tube mounts with a water bottle cage on trail 429? Have you tried it there?
@Thumper99TA - I recall mounting it there and thought it made accessing the water bottle a bit tough, but I ride a small frame so that makes things a bit tighter. I made a longer video about the Ninja box if you want more info: ruclips.net/video/FYJrY8NkUUc/видео.html
@@elroobike Thanks for the reply - I'll watch. I'm going with a size L frame and a side load cage so perhaps it would fit fine in that spot.
Just a polite heads up, the helmet has a shelf life of 3-5 years as the oils leach out of the plastic making them worse at absorbing impacts and more brittle and prone to cracking. You can sometimes shake helmets and hear loose pieces due to this.
Have fun with what the activities of your choice! Yes to strengthening, mobility and flexibilty exercise. Yes to esting natures food and less of processed factory and fast food. Yes to solo or group activity whichever suits you. Yes to good sleep and a day off to do enjoy do nothing! Most of all smile and say hi to others you don't know as you may make a friendship along the way if you choose. The journey is what you make it for yourself. Enjoy!
@lauratimmins2177 - Words of wisdom!
That is the way that I learned with old school guys. Lube goes to chain top.
Oh ya. I hear you! I’m 53 and just trying not to lose what I have which isn’t much 😂 but it’s a battle juggling a demanding work schedule and trying to ride enough to keep my fitness level acceptable enough to still enjoy the ride and not letting it kill me. I determined I gotta get a fat bike and ride through the winter or I’m gonna lose a little every year after taking the winter off so that’s this years plan
Love the idea of getting a fat bike! I thought about that too. I bought an indoor bike trainer to keep up the bike fitness, but it’s not the same.
@@elroobike well.. in Minnesota you get a fat bike or ya don’t ride in the winter
Shimano 9 times out of 10. And thats for pretty much everything, not just rotors 😂 Unless theres an option for an aftermarket manufacturer like Hope or Magura or something like that.
I hang my bikes like that too. My ebike kinda heavy 😊
Me thinks that 1/2 the cost is due to the cool hydraulic pistons/ rams.😅
About 400 so around a third of the price
Why are you out of breath? No mountain biker should be out of breath. No matter how much they exercise.
Does that mean I’m not a mtber? Omg!
Good review. I prefer shimano, but many don't 😂
Wow, that’s actually pretty impressive. I wouldn’t mind the engagement and pawl design of an i9 hub with the silence of an onyx. I bought a 1/1 hub for the rear wheel on my girlfriend’s bike thinking that it would be quieter than a Hydra because of the lower engagement… boy was I wrong. Apparently it’s pretty well-known that even though the Hydra has a higher frequency hub noise, it’s actually a fair bit quieter overall. And the 1/1 hub is much louder but less of a constant buzz. I think if I had to do it again, I would go with the Hydra. That being said, Im definitely happy with the Onyx on my own bike.
The greatest benefit, no plastic parts to decay and break and find out you can't get replacements.
But like an F1 racing when you get the disc brakes too hot they actually become slippery like ice and then you don't break that's why it's a danger and F1 racing when the brake pads get way too hot and it makes them like ice so how does your brake pads and your bike getting too hot make you break better when heat is what causes it to act slippery
When going from 32t to 28t, do you need to remove chain links, or does the derailleur absorb the extra slack?
You do have to remove links when going from 32t to 28t. Sram has a calculator that tells you how many links you need.
What is your brand road bike that can use 34mm tire?
This bike is a Canyon Endurace. It seems like the trend for endurance road bike is more tire clearance than the race versions.
Why would you want to make that glorious sound go away? Louder the better.

I have the same problem, I have blown out the bearings on my i9 hydra. Were you able to change the bearings with the service kit from industry nine by yourself, you didn't show that in the video?
I had my local shop swap out the bearings. i9 has a vid on their site showing the whole process. Looks doable.
$1400. Better have a lock for it as well.....
do you like this bike rack over the 1up super duty
This is by far a better bike rack. By far
The e bike looks better in a recycling yard!
This vs Saris MHS 2? 100lbs per tray= 200lbs max load
guys can you tell what it depends from so easy cassete removing?is it matter from cassete model or hub?usually i have to suffer to open it with whip and full force
Unfortunately moving the plate will not work in Ontario, Canada, plate needs to be illuminated at sundown.
If I take a chain off (for whatever reason) I put it on opposite of what position I removed it to reverse the wear pattern.
Hey thanks! Excellent and honest video. I think it helped me out to make my choice between these two. Exactly what I needed to hear.
What is so super easy with swapping them? (It's a standard pedal removal and install)...
awesome tutorial. thanks. anyone know if you can buy a smaller volume of the grease and oil? For the amount you pay it seems excessive to have so much considering the low frequency in which you need to perform maintenance on these.
