    Listening to the Cypriot football representative, it sounds like APOEL's main problem could be that the team is not fully played yet, although at the same time I saw part of the return match between APOEL vs Bratislav Slovan and APOEL did not give the impression of an unplayed team. As if the system players understand where everyone should be on the field, but the accuracy of the match faltered. The biggest problems for RFS could really be the climatic conditions in Cyprus + the fact that they haven't really played against such serious teams as APOEL (there have been games against Bodo/Glimt and Riga FC), which raises concerns about RFS's ability to quickly adapt to this type of game. The positive side of RFS - the team is very well-matched and against all opponents, including Bodo/Glimt, has been able to show a meaningful performance and control the ball and create dangerous goal-scoring situations, even if the result in the sum of two games was very bad (For comparison - Polish champions against Bodo/Glimt looked much worse than RFS in my opinion). Another thing that can be good for RFS - the first game is in Riga, which maybe removes the shock therapy that was in the away game against Bodo/Glimt. In order for RFS to be able to overcome APOEL, they need at least a two-goal advantage over the Cypriot champions in Riga, if not, then it will be very difficult in the away game.

    Will RFS play their next European matches in skonto stadium? Pity that they demolished the south stand and became a parking lot

    • @LatvianFootballPodcast
      @LatvianFootballPodcast 26 дней назад

      There was never a south stand (other than some temporary stands, which are no longer allowed by UEFA). RFS can play this playoff round at LNK but then either Skonto or Daugava…

    • @matrixberzins465
      @matrixberzins465 25 дней назад

      At the end of the Skonto stadium, behind the goal, there were never serious stands - there were only temporary stands, which were not stationary. It was planned to build normal grandstands there, but after the financial crisis of 2008 + the drop in the rating of the Latvian national team and the decrease in the average number of spectators, the final grandstand was not built. The main problem of the stadium is that it is an old-fashioned classic football stadium - I have listened to Latvian football representatives Guntars Indriksons (former responsible person of the Latvian Football Federation for football infrastructure in Latvia), then the main mistake of Skonto Stadium was lack of experience and today the stadium would not be built in this way, but would rather choose the strategy of the Swiss football stadium, that the stadium is combined with some commercial buildings, such as shopping centers, office buildings, etc., so that the stadium can support itself.

    Interesting interviews, but there is a lot of confusion about the Norwegian league. As far as I've heard, a lot of money has been invested in the Norwegian league in recent years, but the last time a Norwegian club was represented in the Champions League was a long time ago - Rosenborg and Molde were the last to do so as far as I can remember. At the moment it is impossible to understand - has Rosenborg remained weaker, or have other clubs become stronger? It's hard to gauge the strength of Bodo/Glimt and the Norwegian league when you see Bodo/Glimt playing great at home but mostly losing away from home. One thing that can help RFS a little is to regularly play on artificial grass and natural grass, because in the Latvian football league, some clubs play on artificial throughout the season - such as FK Metta and BFC Daugavpils.

Well i do Belive the Norwegian teams Are good enough to make the cl groupstage for example Bodø they Are good they play close with good teams like Ajax they beat Roma some years ago and they win against turkish teams often whenever they play, so i think its not to long before we will eventually see a Norwegian team in the cl stage

      Rosenborg is much weaker than before and has had horrible management for years. At the moment they are no economic force like they used to be and the way back to the top seem pretty long. Norwegian football in general seem to have had a huge development the last years both if you look at european performance and bigger sales and buys out of and into the league. And as you saw during the games the gap between the teams wasn't insignificant

    I think RFS will get over the Larne FC barrier. But I think that FK Auda and FK Liepāja will win, but not very convincing ones. The clubs of the Faroe Islands have been showing very good resistance in recent years - I think that the club of the Faroe Islands even in 2023. knocked out Swedish champions BK Hacken in the season.

    Recent years I feel like Liepāja spends the whole season observing others and during winter they collect all good players that they can get from other Virslīga clubs. They look good on a paper but individual players can't win matches - you need a team. And that, I believe, is coach's responsibility. One of Pertia's strong points is his charisma/energy but lately he seems tired, like burnt out. That's not doing anything good neither for him, for the club or for players.

  • @matrixberzins465
    @matrixberzins465 4 месяца назад

    What is with FK Liepāja? The fact that the club will have problems with time is proven by the fact that their best striker is a 36-year-old Brazilian who is really loyal to the club, but such a striker can come in for a change and not be almost the only attacking option. A year ago, FK Liepāja sold Mankenda to Riga FC - who, according to Tamaz Pertia, does not fit into the club's offensive line, but he has proven himself to be a solid offensive asset for Riga FC. I am surprised that FK Liepāja did not offer a contract to their former striker and Latvian national team player Dāvis Ikaunieks, whose contract with the Czech league club Jablonec expired, and who currently plays for the Lithuanian club FA Šiauliai - I don't think, oh FA Šiauliai could have put a better contract on the table than FK Liepāja ! I agree about the stadium - it is located in a fantastic location, and has long been in need of proper modernization and reconstruction.
