what pc spec do you have ? cpu, gpu, etc
i7-10700k cpu, 3080 gpu, 64gb ram. This build has been my workhorse for years! Was averaging over 50fps, looks choppy on the recording due to an encoding issue on my end though.
Is it possible to render exteriors with this software? Does it support PBR materials from our private collection? I hope future development will bring compatibility with Blender.
Yes you can do both, currently it supports .fbx to import so yes to blender support! Make sure to back on Kickstarter if you can!
Yes all the above is possible even with the current Alpha build. You can export your Blender meshes as fbx and your textures and import them into Omniarch. We still lack handy tools and optimizations though for larger scenes, which we will easily be able to make with proper funding.
Thank you so much for the review! We really appreciate the kind words and support Andy. Let's bring Omniarch to life!
No problem! Best of luck with the campaign and development!
Oh! I like the look of this already. This is such a step in the game of arch viz and rendering that I think the community needs to be aware of. As of late, it feels like most render engines are just a battle of who has what features and who is more affordable. And if afforability isn't an issue, then something that is just simple and easy to use without having to fight through the program to get satisfying reesults. So far, my favorite to use are Enscape and D5, but I am excited to see this move forward and make some huge waves in the industry.
@@matthewloynd9364 Exactly! Really astute comment, we've been sleeping on interactivity in archviz! Looks promising, be sure to support the Kickstarter if you can!
Is there any kind of livesync to AutoCAD? I know of the livesync to Lumion.
@@csandersjr83 Are you doing 3d in cad? They support, skp, vectorworks, archicad, revit, 3ds etc.
@@andychristoforou Hi Andy. I use a cabinet design/engineering software called Microvellum that is an overlay on AutoCAD only. I would like to be able to see renderings at the same time as drafting/designing for when I meet customers. That way they can get a better feel of the product/space as changes are made.
The next step I want to do is to have a finished job drawing taken into a rendering software and have AI do all of the lighting and other objects without touching my design
@csandersjr83 Check out Veras. That's what they do but don't do it in 3d, all 2d!
@@andychristoforou thank you
It's super interesting tool. I hope they release it before D5 add this interactive feature to kill their chances to exist!
Interesting for sure, the interactive component is something often overlooked which is funny given the real-time render nature of our tools now!

@@r1cht3r1000 Thanks for the support!
I really like the way you explain stuff. You could go a little slower because things arę going really complex and it's easy tu get confused. Have a questions: What's the difference in SketchUp between 2 layers and 3 layers? Is it a layers within a layer? Like a block inside a block? The idea for a tutorial would be a high style interior of a house Villa with luxurious equipment. From scratch to a super realism. Event if it's simple. This what I like to watch how do you set the fire place, the TV playing maybe event an aftereffect clips putting together with music. You are doing a good job!
@@jacekgawronski5482 Thanks Jacek, will keep that in mind, thanks for the vid idea! Re: SKP, not sure about layer 3 because they don't support sub layers so thats a good question, you could be right about the blocks being their own export, I know in Rhino 3 = sub layer support.

@@basharsg3672 No problem! Like a phasing animation tutorial?
@ yes 👍🏻
For me D5 is great for fast interior-exterior animations and stills renders.. BUT , i can get 1000x better results with corona, this example of render in corona to me is from a person that is not a professional archviz artist, so in this particular case, d5 wins for "easyness". But i can achieve super realistic renders in corona, that d5 could not handle. Its a matter of time i guess, if you have a great CPU and time, corona. If you have a great GPU and not so much time, D5. BTW nice way to show D5 tools!
Thanks! When do we get to watch the 1000x better corona render video?? I jest - that's an interesting point about you saying the corona image wasn't professional to begin with because that's how I felt when I saw the original comparison of the first d5 attempts, it's a really tough thing to compare. No denying corona is great but we also can't deny that real-time render engines are catching up!
@andychristoforou they werent professional. Both for me. And yes, video in corona in a single PC seems impossible haha. Go render farms!
As a long D5 user, I want to say, that Corona Render ist the best renderer on the market for high-realism. Corona dominates the market with 3ds Max. Absolutely state of art. Anyone who says otherwise, has little idea, of what is going on.
No one is denying Corona capabilities :) The video is about testing whether or not a real-time engine can reach the same results because up until now, that wasn't possible! That's why I wanted to record the whole process to show others that it can be done with the right skills and patience.
Nah! Corona is superior to D5. I like some tooks in D5 but thats it. Maybe in the future
@@digitalesthetics Corona works differently, and if D5 reaches 80% of Corona's quality taking 80% less time and eliminating the surprise factor (because it is real time)... Then D5 is a very reliable and successful product.
Great way to look at it for sure! IMO I think we got past 80% quality here in just a fraction of time, completely nuts!
Softwares are just tools, I mean you can draw the Monalisa on MS Paint… of course those tools has their own capabilities and limitations, but it mainly depends on 2 factors. The first is YOU, as an artist, if you got the eye for details, known how the material “should” look like, how light behaves, what details make the render realistic, you will get good results with ANY tool. The second factor is how to get the most out of your tools and use what you have to produce the best possible results.
@@omarmessam Yup, don't disagree! I think we're at a place tech/hardware wise where Real-Time can reach Corona levels but if you’re not a good artist you'll never get there! Great comment!
@@andychristoforou and it goes both ways, if you are not a good artist you will not get good results even with a powerful tool like Corona.
thank you From Thailand
@@TheJaophrayaRiver No problem, welcome to the channel!
Very good viedo! You can even improve a D5Render-render (🤨) by importing high quality materials from Megascans or similar, using LUTs in the effects tab (even the free ones are making a big difference) and so on. Btw the sky color can also be changed in the environment tab to a degree that I think is similar to your result in PS.
@@ralfpoerschke8787 Yes, very meta, ha! Agreed with your points! I should have checked MS for the stone material. With the sky color, I find that the controller will handle brightness really well, not saturation unless I start tweaking overall scene effects but then that impacts too much of the overall image
great tut! I love the marker effect but if always seems to get away from me with the colors. Grey roofs are red and shaded siding is a totally diffference color than unshaded - any suggestions? Thanks,

Good tips! Another tip for added realism: never use a perfectly flat plane for the lawn area, unless it’s a synthetic turf. I like to do a bit of sculpting in Blender for my lawns and plant beds and it makes a huge difference
@@Jordan-dr9hq Great idea Jordan, and if you don't have that plane, use terrain and paint with a noise brush for some lil hills!
Perfect tool for visualisation nothing can beat d5.

Direct import sometimes don't read uv mapping
@@rajendrameena150 Try using the keep texture size parameter on the material settings
How would you go about making a mowed grass look ? . I’ve noticed the scale of D5 automatic grass material is pretty big even at the lowest value . I just want to be able to make a nice mowed lawn that has some color variation so it looks more realistic . The automatic grass blades don’t have a realistic texture to them .
@@AshtonAime3D There's a "trim" slider literally for the mowed look. Take a look at the blend setting for color variation too!
Hi! Any suggestions on how you can use the 3d grass template on non-rectilinear faces? I noticed that when I apply the grass template for example on a complex shaped face, the applied material is flat. Thanks!
@nathandevera5543 Unfortunately there's no density controllers or edging so I'd switch to using a scatter preset for grass there!
Hallo Andy I just uploaded my second video with D5 render and the first one with terrain modelling. ruclips.net/video/F5RM9pXYLko/видео.htmlsi=DrCZNCpixMJiIUJ0 Tell me what you think about it and if you’d have any tips to improve it. Thanks
Looks great! I think overall could use more artificial lighting and some natural light so it doesn't seem so shadowey
You can use "synchronise render color" command for second method and it will generate materials like method 1.
Great command, thanks!
How would you approach the transition between say for example grass area to a gravel or soil area? Applying the texture would obviously show hard edges of the plane where the textures were applied. I would love to see how you will approach it making it look more natural and seamless.
@@JigsHidalgoMusic Fantastic question, so what I would do is use my terrain/landacape functionality, the reason being is EACH landscape material (1. grass 2. soil 3. gravel) would be detected as a different scatter material So I'd target grass for normal grass, target soil and scatter maybe leaves or rocks and for sand do some sandy looking rocks/pebbles. The benefit of terrain is you get brushes which can have that soft falloff you're looking for!
@@andychristoforou so more on painting to hide the edges. Cool! will definitely try it out. 😀
@JigsHidalgoMusic Exactly a soft brush will blend nicely between your material types instead of a harsh modeled plane with a material
There is also a nice technic that I learnt from luminon is to have 2 planes one above another with something like a 5 cm distance and apply 2 different 3d grass texture
@sebastienbernard1599 Agreed! Similar to the level 3, similar idea - much easier to blend 2 groups of grasses/meshes instead of one larger landscape material
nice, thanks andy

@@andychristoforou 10-14 storied buildings would be perfect. To be very specific on what type of renderings we do in Bangladesh and countries around me it would be great if you search the net on how our real estate renderings looks. Typical challenges I face are as follows: 1. Making Distant meshes and foliage look good. 2. Framing the building the subject and adding background elements. 3.
