How Much Does Whisky Cost? - Episode 73
Hey Leon , Hope your well? Are you going to do any more reviews for us. ?
My appointment tomorrow morning. Wish me luck😊
there are 4 rounds , but in this case there are 5
Approx cone lanth on cone weave?
Thanks for the tips! Also a big fan of Shelter Point Distillery!
Thanks for mapping it out. I have watched several real time examples but still did not understand the layout. Your explanation, particularly "view these cones as a wall" really helped make sense. Thanks.
I am taking my test next week and so am practicing as much as I can. My motorcycle/scooter is automatic (300 cc). As I don't have a clutch, what else will the tester be looking for? Any advice you can give me to prepare would be really appreciated. Rory
Thank you for this video, it was very helpful. I'm making my skills test next week, this made me feel a lot more comfortable about it.
Taking my test on tues! Excited and nervous! This helps a bunch!
Thank you so very much
Hello, I need to practice for my skill test and I'm missing the exact measurement of the cones field is anyone could send and schematic with those distance so I could prepare my self. I truly appreciate it!
Hey Man I took a VISC and passed my skills test last year but found my bmw 1100r was to heavy for me and my license expired without a road test. So now I have to start over So I bought a HD trike. I did the skills test and failed the slalom between cones. I believe they measured my turning radius wrong and as a result didn’t set the cones far enough apart. I spoke with three examiners and got three different answers on how they measure T/R on a trike. To make matters worse I haven’t been able to get an official TR for my 2022 HD Tri-Glide Ultra. So I am capable of measuring it but want to be sure that I’m doing it right. Front wheel locked to the left. Mark the spot beside the right rear wheel Push the bike 180 deg. Mark the spot beside the right rear wheel. Measure between the two marks. The examiners I’ve talked with would have me put my front wheel on the beginning spot. Also they cannot or will not give me a cone distance to practice with. What to do?
2:00 Can you please explain why my bottle is at 46% and not 46.5% like yours? I see different abv's for batch 2. Also wondering the recipe for my bottle, as it does not say that it finished in French oak cask, but rather, bourbon barrels. Quite curious. Thanks.
Hey buddy....you are also a video star. I should hire you as an assistant. You nailed it! Everything he said folks. Great job. Hope you are having lots of two wheel fun 😊
Im in the process of applying for the Brewing and Distilling course at Heriot Watt and just wanted to say that i really appreciate the insight. Hope to get over and see your Distillery one day. Cheers
hello guys,, I would like to ask guys im going for my skill test,,but the motorcycle that i have has no horn, would i be able to use it for the test?
Hi Leon ,i got to know about you from the Heriot Watt University and it's an honour to meet you! I'm an overseas student aspiring to get enrolled in this University for the B&D program . Would you recommend this program for me since I'm passionate about beers and whiskey production, and what is more emphasized - beer or whiskey in this program. And this degree surely reflects that it does have worldwide recognition and the possible job opportunities worldwide esp in US and Canada,so please comment on that . And lastly I would like to know if I should opt for this MSc Degree as it's priced at 20k GBP,for which i certainly need to look for an educational loan and take the plunge ? Please help me with my Queries ♥️
Excellent info thank you for taking the time to make the video!
Thanks for the advice! I'm taking my test tomorrow and I'm really cramming for it cause the only available test booking was a week after starting practice. So yeah a little nervous but I really appreciate helping me know what to expect! Thanks!
how'd you do? I'm in the same boat, no tests ever available, took the first one that popped up. Only been on the bike a couple weeks. My only real concern is a toe touch during the u-turns depending how tight they are.
This was sooooo helpful. Thank you!
Congratulations on the Tamnavulin gig! I just saw Ben Luening mentioning you in his whisky news....
Yo gr8 work do u have anything on knowledge test
Very detailed video. Thanks.
Thanks for giving us some details on it, gonna practice up for the skills test in a month!
It didn’t give me a congratulations message it just says “thank you for completing the test your score 15 out of 20. Did I pass??
Happy 100th!
Congratulations on the 100 and the Laphroaig. I really like this 15 and I still have one unopened bottle. Looks like this year we'll all be doing some belt-tightening so I may have to dip into my stash. I've been saving those bottles for a rainy day or celebration. Cheers.
Congrats on your 100th episode! It has fun being along for the ride. Hearing you describe this whisky had me reaching for my bottle of Quarter Cask!
100 episodes! Well done, Leon. :). Cheers to 100 more. :)
Congratulations! I remember enjoying that bottle a lot...
Congratulations on your 100th😃🕺
Fantastic ! Thank you ! Do you use that gin basket ?
Thanks for the tour... If you put a malted barley mash through that pot column still, would you get a new make that could be aged to resemble Nikka Coffey Malt? I imagine it would be fun to experiment with distilling malted and unmalted barley mashes through that setup... If you aged it and bottled it I'd be one of your first customers!
Ah! My Mecca. One day I will visit. :). Art and science all together. :). Genius.
haha excellent...as some would say (or ok not exactly that !), "for relaxating times, makes it a silent whisky moment time" (silent, but with the wood burning cracks, better than TV & still with a lot of action & suspense, lol). Cheers Leon ! 🤣🥃👍
Maybe International Distillers Club or Group (IDC or IDG)? There may also be knowledge to be learned from other spirits such a rums and mezcals, where the fermentation time, process and distillation setup can be wildly different. There could be cross-spirit knowledge that may be mutually beneficial for all.
I like your thinking Steve! Collaboration and knowledge sharing from different specialists would be insightful. Great name suggestion too.
I started to do some wee studies with the EWA, but this IBD dealio sounds like a bigger step up.
The Edinburgh Whisky Academy is another good provider of spirit education. How are you finding the EWA content? The IBD route would be a great addition too and will get you more into the science side of things.
Cool club! Sign me up plz! Mentor program is great too! I am doing IDL right now, the program is awesome! I wished to do the whole year but too scared to travel due to covid. :(
I'll get you involved Ethan in the club and mentorship once setup. I'm glad you're enjoying the your program. Keep up the good work!
@@WhiskyWebb thank you Sensei Webb ! 🙏
What an awesome video. Great collab!
Glad you enjoyed it Malt Muser!
So excited for more Campbeltown. It’s getting way too scarce out there because it’s so good!
Totally agree Sami. Don't see nearly enough Springbank out here!
I went through two bottles of Victoriana in record time... I couldn't help but reach for it!
It's a tasty one!
Passed my test today thanks to you. Thanks man!
Congratulations Geoff, see you on the road pal!
This is the perfect setting... All it needs is some wind and rain pelting on the windows from outside :)
Ooh yeah, that would be the cozy icing on the cake!
Looks relaxing Mr Swan-.. um, I mean Mr Webb ;P
Something hypnotic and relaxing about a fire, eh? :)
Can't beat it for a relaxing dram!
Well this is appealing!
Get Ryan to build you a cabin ASAP!
@@WhiskyWebb It’s very high on my list!
Rangers vs Celtics = Leafs vs Canucks 🤔
Probably more like Habs vs Leafs, as Canucks have won bugger all!
A beautiful whisky. Being from Tobermory Ontario visiting Tobermory Scotland is on my bucket list
It's well worth checking out. I hope you make it some day and enjoy a wee dram of Ledaig while you're there.
thanks a lot , what is the distance between weaving cones?
It depends on the turning circle of your bike but about 1.5 to 2 metres.
East Fife 5 - Forfar 4 ... :P
Have a go wi' Glengoyne :)
I love that score line, I wonder if it has ever actually happened? The distillery equivalent would be Royal Brackla 5 - Tamdhu 4
Montrose Roselea in the North Region Distillery League! Only 1.1m Litres of Pure Alcohol per year.
