Are the numbered stickers on the side of the casks an I house way of identifying the casks? I got one of the scrap casks recently and mime had 936 on a sticker. Also 936 written on the side in jiffy marker along with the date Nov 16/17 which I take to be the fill date? Trying to map the life of my barrel.

Hi Big Tree. Yes, the numbers on the stickers or written on the barrel with a Sharpie are the barrel numbers. We have cask numbers from 1 to about 2,900. The date is the fill date. Special finishes are marked with the precursor 'SF'. I hope the barrel you have smells good!
