I don’t know what it is called but I buy them in the beauty eyelash section of the store.

This is the smallest one. There are two others with the largest being 170mm x 200mm. I wish there was a larger hoop but the price difference is considerably higher.

For this particular video I used the RA20a hoop which has an embroidery area of 170mm x 200mm. RE20a (170 x 200mm) | Part Number: 861803509/861803602. I have the smaller square one, SQ14a (140mm x 140mm) | Part Number: 86180440. I also have the tiny free arm hoop that is good for cuffs or small areas. FA10a (100mm x 40mm) | Part Number: 861402205. I have other videos using all of these.

Honestly, I don’t know how to use a dst file on my Janome machine. I can’t say that I’ve done it successfully. That doesn’t mean it can’t be done. It only means I have not done it. When I buy embroidery designs online I only buy .jef format.

It all depends on the size of the letters. The limitation is the embroidery area within the hoop. I have used large lettering for words that wouldn't fit in the hoop size, so I had to do the whole thing in two separate hoop stitchouts.

The dropcloth is 48 inches wide before cutting off the rolled edges. I cut 24 inches of the length and then trim off the rolled edges. So it ends up being 24 x 47 when all the edges are removed. Then I cut two 3” x 24” handles from the 47” width. Which ends up being 41 x 24 for the main panel. The first and last cuts of the dropcloth will end up being about 23” because you have to remove the rolled edges on the ends. If I were doing to use 44” fabric, I’d cut the main panel at 24” x 44” and then sub-cut 6” for the handles. Making the main panel at 38x24 and a bag that was less deep. If the canvas is 100% cotton you can sublimate on it.

I use a free open source software called Inkscape with a plug in called Inkstitch to digitize. However, there are several free apps like Stitch Buddy you can use to open the file and check the size, but you have to pay to edit 😏.

I don't understand the booking you are referring to.

This machine uses .jef and .jef+ format. This design was free from the Janome site. The link is in the description.

Do not be discouraged if your first attempts don't look great. You will develop muscle memory and it will start looking better soon. Enjoy!

You are sweet. There is a Facebook group for Janome Memory Craft 9850 owners and they are very active.

I have that same trouble with certain adhesives and double sided tape so I avoid that. I have better luck with wonder under or fabric glue sticks for appliqué and in the hoop Embroidery.

Sometimes when I have trouble with volume I use the CC option for subtitles. I have been trying to speak louder for my newer videos. Maybe I should remake this video.

I go through phases and binge quilt. I am glad my bad videos were helpful.
