I love the outfit ,the maroon top looks so comfortable. I just love your sewing space.
Hi Katinka, thank you so much! My sewing space is definitely my happy place. 🥰 Thank you so much for stopping by!
The skirt looks lovely on you, I really like the colors.
Thank you so much! I'm so happy with the way it turned out. The fabric is fantastic. I appreciate the kind comment!
Hello Angela, welcome back. Your short set is cute.
Thank you! 🤗 It’s good to be back!
Courdroy?
That might be very fun!!
I think it looks like it could be a great rain coat done in vinyl.
Oh yes, for sure!!
Love your fabric choices!!! Where did you get them?
Thank you! I got all of them at Joann.
nice vest. it looks really good on you!
Oh thank you! ☺️
Love your colors. I thing the outfit is more attractive tugged it The other way looks a little frumpy
Oh thank you! Yes, I tend to agree and I appreciate your honesty. 😁
Hi Angela! Oh, I hope you are able to take it easy and will feel better soon ❤ Your shorts look great and you did an excellent job with pattern matching! A newer-ish pattern I think is similar to your shorts is M8221 (especially view C). I have this pattern but have not made it yet. Your outfit looks nice both ways with the shirt tucked in or not! My personal preference for myself is I do not like to wear my shirts tucked in.
Hi Michelle, thank you so much! Yes, feeling better every day! I'll have to check out M8221, thanks for sharing. I'm generally not a tucker myself, requires too much effort, ha! Hope you're having a good weekend!
Cute outfit. The top looks great too. I like it tucked in best. I recently made a pair of elastic waist shorts also and can’t decide if I like them or not. They are super comfortable and I actually got the fit right! However, I feel they look a tad matronly…I am old but don’t want I shout it from the rooftops! 😂
Thank you! I hear ya - sometimes it's a fine line. 😂
Nice outfit I found the pattern in a op shop in Australia except mine came with a vest but I could hack the pants for shorts thanks for the video 😊😊😊
Thank you! So happy you enjoyed the video, and isn't it just the best to come across a random pattern in an op shop? PS - I love the phrase "op shop" so much! I think it's what we call thrift store here in the US maybe? But op shop just sounds so cool! Hope you have a fantastic weekend!
Angela, check out the Love Notions Allegro pattern. Its pull on shorts or pants and the pattern does contain a longer short. Pockets too!
Awesome!! Thank you so much! ☺️
I’m on a mission to make shorts also and the Allegro pattern it my next try.
Hi Angela. Your shorts outfit is really cute! The fabrics look beautiful to sew & to wear. My older big five patterns are from before they went to universal, consistent sizing and I find they’re sized larger than the ones in the last couple of years. I’ve tried a few P4P patterns. Never heard of the last pattern company you mentioned, but I really like the whole outfit on the pattern cover you showed! Time for you to get an x-ray! 🩻 Maybe wrapping your rib cage will help you heal. Lots of love. 😘
Hi Lynn! That's interesting about the sizing change. I wasn't aware of it and I appreciate you sharing the info. There was a large period of time during which I wasn't doing any garment sewing (focused on quilting), and when I came back, so much had changed; the big one being PDF patterns. I thought about going to urgent care but overall i'm feeling much better. Doesn't hurt to breathe deeply now and range of motion is coming back. Thank you for your sweet comment. I hope you're having a good week! 💕
I am using the free peasant dress pattern that Mari shared during sew frugal. I have sewn a size 14 and will probably do another larger dress but I also have printed the free patterns that Alyssa from Thoughtful Creativity designed over the past couple of years.
Very nice! Thank you for sharing your plans and have fun making those dresses! 🙌🏻 💕
Lovely fabrics, great choice. I made five last year & so far completed six & have five more cut out. I’m making the dresses for a twelve year old as they don’t get so many for that age.❤
Wonderful! How cool is that?! Thank you so much for sharing your experience and your plans! 🙌🏻 💕
Wool
Yes!!
Very cute fabrics Angela!
Hi Michelle! Thank you! 😊
Love the fabrics! I used a free pattern Mari mentioned in her Sew Frugal video in March 2024. It goes all the way up to a size 12 and is super cute and easy to sew. It doesn’t have pockets included, but easy enough to add those yourself.
Sounds perfect!! I’ll have to check it out. Thanks for sharing! 💕
Ponte knit! 😊
Perfect!
I’d make this pattern with a lightweight wool in anticipation of cooler weather! Certain wools are great for year-round too. I like to line my wool, too, so it would be helpful if the pattern already included that. 😂 Less thinking on my part. 😘
Wool would be great! I took a peek at the pattern and the coat IS lined!!
My Dress a Girl Around the World ambassador has a pattern we copy that is a peasant style with an elastic neckline. I use contrast fabric for the raglan short sleeve and 2 pockets. Very cute & fast. She collects dresses year-round. Love to be involved with this organization. ❤
That's so awesome and the dresses sound really cute! Thanks for sharing your experience. 💕
Cute fabrics! The pink and the black is fabulous! My video for the vlogger tour is going to be quick reviews of 6 different patterns so that has been really fun! In terms of the trim, I’m using some bits of lighter fabric but I wouldn’t use a solid white bottom ruffle because I think it could get dingy quickly. I vote pink ruffles for everyone! Haha
Hi Erin! Love your idea to do pattern reviews, how helpful that will be! Thank you so much for the input on a white ruffle, had never thought about it getting dirty easily. Likely gonna go with pink for everyone (love it, lol). Keep it simple and easy. Hope you have a great week ahead!
I am using McCalls Stitch Save # 2004 copyright 1999. It is an adorable pattern and it is SO EASY to make it into a lined or even reversible dress. I wish they would bring it back into the catalogs. LOVE the pattern you are using and your fabrics are AWESOME
Your pattern is so cute!! I agree - wish they would bring it back. Thanks so much for stopping by, Becky!
I've made it 4 times-out of a "silky" with a sueded poly edging and cuffs, a silky poly twill, and georgette...but after hearing you read the suggested fabrics, I think I need to dig it out and do it in a cozier fabric for the upcoming season...need to check the stash Thanks for the inspo
Wow! What a glowing recommendation for this pattern! Thanks for sharing!
Polar fleece
Yes!!
Love the patterns you picked up. And so sorry, please feel free to share your PDAG plans 😊
Thanks, Mari! No worries, all good. I'll definitely be posting about them soon. Excited to be a part. 😊
Good looking patterns, Angela! That skirt pattern really kicks! That might be a good one for me to try. With the right fabric, I might be able to wear it to church; we’re pretty casual. 😊
Hi, Lynn! That sounds awesome! Would love to hear how it turns out for you if you end up making it. 😀
Hi Angela - I have also bought the cargo skirt pattern. I just love the idea of all those pockets
Hi Becky, absolutely! Would love to hear how it turns out once you sew it up!
Hi Angela! Cool books! Roman numerals are a challenge for me too. I remember it some from school way back when, but it takes me a while to think it thru and I probably get it wrong 😂
Right?? I'm so glad we have "regular" numbers now. 😂😂😂
I think a linen would look nice for the jacket. I agree with the commenter before me that a rayon challis would look nice for the dress. Wow, just remembering those long jackets from the 90s lol.
I totally agree! Yes, still love those 90s fashions. 😄😄😄
I suppose it depends on the view one is making. A rayon challis for the dress might be nice. 😘
I think so too!
I loved looking at your new/old Swiss Family Robinson book was indeed a series of classics reprints....my family had a bunch of them when I was a kid in the 60's. It might have been a subscription type thing. I think we kept ours on the shelf with their jackets on, that was so long ago!! I used to have a couple of favorite used book stores nearby that had my card and preferences on file. I would get a phone call if any Jack London, Robert Louis Stevenson (and a few others), or Modern Library Editions came into the shop. I have since downsized my books and have kept only the JL (which is pretty nearly complete) and my Alistair MacLean paperbacks (ditto). Book Nerd alert! 😁
I'm so happy you enjoyed the book segment! And, it's nice to know I'm in good company. ☺️ #BookNerd
I live in Northern Kentucky, in Erlanger. Where is the antique/thrift shop?
It's Motley Home in Burlington. There's a link to their Facebook in the video description. 😊
@@JustMeAndMyFabric Sorry, I didn't look. I looked online and finally found something. I'll check to see if it's the same as your link.
@@dianemontavon5670. No worries! Just wanted to make sure you knew how to find them. Would love to hear if you end up visiting them or not, and what you think.
the material is beautiful I would to have a few yards
Isn't it?! Looks like they are getting low, from what I could see on the listing. So you might pop over to Surge Fabrics to take a look (link in video description).
View A with the B length. I think rayon twill would be so nice.
Love it!
I would make it out of challis fabric to have a soft flowing skirt. I really like that pattern.
Beautiful!
Voila cotton but with summer coming to an end I’m not sure love the pattern!
@@juliehenze1103 Good choice and good point!
I would like to do a capsule wardrobe but right now I don't have enough time
I totally can relate to that! Part of the fun of this project for me was the planning itself. Then I took my time making all the items (or most of them at least) over the course of the year. Perhaps you can spend some time just dreaming of what you'll make later. I just love doing that and it's a small way of keeping the creativity alive. Thank you so much for watching this video and commenting. I appreciate you!
Nice picks ,also love color of your hair
Thank you so much! I appreciate your sweet comment! 💕
Thank you for the shout out. Love your fabric, it's stunning.
You are so welcome! Thanks for stopping by, hope you have a great weekend!
Angela your skirt looks awesome! I love it with the deep green tank. I just may have to get that pattern.
Thank you so much! 😘 🙌🏻 I appreciate your sweet comment! I'll be excited to wear it the first time. Hope you have a great weekend!
Hi Angela, I love your skirt! The fabric is so pretty 🤩. I’ve never sewn a skirt like this 😮.
Thank you! 😊 I think this was my first time doing that drawstring technique. I was somewhat concerned at first but that part was very easy, as it turns out. Thanks so much for watching and commenting. Hope you have a great week!
The skirt is such a nice addition to your wardrobe! I love the combinations you came up with! Love the new patterns.
Hi Katinka! Thank you so much. I appreciate your kind comment and hope you have a great weekend!
