If your station or chief is fine with it, install a train horn or something much louder than the airhorn. It will make clearing intersections and wake up those sleepy drivers on the road that wont yield or abide.

The delay at that intersection, without seeing your vehicle in person, suggests that your lighting is primarily front and rear and all but invisible from the sides. I am hearing impaired so all the sirens in the world are no good to me but sight is. Take a look at your vehicle from the side with a side facing into the sun to see if your vehicle is all but invisible or not.

Came across this video and wanted to let you know that studies show your no matter how many sirens you have going at 50 MPH and emergency vehicle will outrun the effective range of its audible warning device. I’m a career firefighter ( District Chief ) with going on 35 years on the job. My municipality is comprised of 80 square miles, 44,000 people. We have 6 combination fire departments with 60 career firefighters working two rotations 12 hour shifts and approximately 80 volunteers splint between the 6 stations. Our command staff is 1 chief ( career paid) 10 District Chiefs ( career paid) 6 Captains ( career paid ), 6 career lieutenant’s 6 volunteer lieutenants ( one per station ). We have three district chiefs on daylight 5am-5pm and two on the overnights per rotation. Our busiest station runs approximately 900 calls a year ( no EMS calls ) while our slowest station runs approximately 500 calls a year and the other stations run anywhere between that. Our apparatus Includes 4 engines ( 2000GPM 750 gallons of water, a battery operated Jaws, O cutters, ram ). 2, 75’ quints ( same water and pump and tools as the engines)100’ ladder truck, 2 heavy rescues equipped vehicle rescue, confined space rescue, trench rescue and water rescue, man in machine rescue,. 2 utility trucks that can pull the 2 zodiac boats and carry spare SCBA and bottles and other supplies, and 2 brush trucks.

The US Cop's/Emergency responders are lucky! Us British Cop's here in the UK aren't allowed to listen to music in an emergency vehicle... Infact, the whole system is removed out of car and replaced with emergency lights and siren controls! 🤣

I have noticed in a few of your videos that you have trouble getting drivers in front of you to notice you. Have you ever thought about upgrading to a full size visor lightbar instead of those four single modules? A dual color red / white aggressivew attack pattern on a full size visor bar would for sure help out. Or you could throw in a Feniex Hammer. I have one in my rig and its very effective for a $250 rumbler system.
