I had a feeling someone would say that. 😀 I agree. With a few tweaks, it’s easy to do. I’ve done that before as a costume accessory for a vampire slayer. It was strung on to braided Raffia. 👍😍

I know the feeling. 😀 I’m not good with stains and finishes but when varnished nicely, the results are great. Like in some larger pieces and walking sticks, it can resemble leather and other times wood. Thanks for your input❣️👍😍

Oh, good to know it❣️ You’re most welcome. While this creates a (negative) outer, the foil makes it possible to duplicate it from the (positive) inside. That way, the tin foil can be covered with the paper strip method and removed. This works nicely for larger and wearable pieces. Thanks for your encouraging words. 😍 ❤️🐦‍⬛❤️🐦‍⬛❤️🐦‍⬛

Hi, Debra. Oh, yes. I’ve made several draped fabric sculptures. Here are my suggestions. 1. Select natural fabrics that will absorb the liquid such as cotton Muslin 2. Choose a sturdy structure for the armature. 3. Add wire for arms, if needed. 4. Dip the fabric into the starch and squeeze out the excess liquid. 5. Drape over the armature and create folds accordingly. These are the basics. You can use plastic bottles and add blank heads or painted faces. Decide to make it with or without hands, depending on your sculpting ability. I hope this helps. Please know that you can practice playing with the fabric and look for examples online.
