Windshield Wipers not Working
Просмотров 603 года назад
My windshield wipers will not go completely back down and will get stuck on its way back down making a grinding noise. I thought it was the wipers at first and put new wipers on but did not fix the problem.I decided to go straight to the source to find the issue which was the wiper transmission/motor. Check out my video on how to take off and reinstall the wipers & cowl ruclips.net/video/z7mpnY...

    I have a TopDon ODB2 scanner. Using that, I was able to monitor my oil pressure. It stayed at a constant 142 psi. That is way too high and should not be constant, so that is why I thought my sensor was bad. I followed this nice lady’s video to change my sensor and now it is working again. Thank you!

    Done! Here was experience, to help others: I initially bought a 1 1/16 inch Husky brand socket from Home Depot. It was too bulky to fit so I returned it. Next, I bought an OXCANO-brand socket on Amazon that is specifically designed for removing the oil pressure sensor. It, too, was actually a little bit too bulky: it was hitting a metal bracket on my 2013 V6 Camaro so I couldn't get it onto the oil sensor. I ended up using a grinder to shape the socket to fit. Even after that, only my smaller socket wrench would fit - not my torque wrench. The torque spec (I think) is around 15 ft-lbs, but I just turned as much as I could without over tightening. (Both of the sockets I tried were 3" long. If you can find one that is about 2 3/4" long, that would work better.) After I was done, I realized that Autozone sells regular wrenches that are closed on one end and open on the other. I think that should work instead of trying to use a socket!! They have both sizes: 1+1/16 inch or 27mm. 1+1/16" = 26.99mm, so either size should work. Someone try that and let us know if it works! Lastly, this would be a good time to clean up those wires that are right there. Get yourself some automotive "tesa tape," and some 3/8" or 1/2" automotive wire loom to re-wrap the wires. Also, from Amazon, you can get the zip ties that connect to the hole in the engine block. This will hold the wires away from the hot engine and oil filter housing. Thank you, thank you, thank you! I'm a 54-year-old guy who is decent with tools but wouldn't have had the confidence to this without your video! Thank you!

    • @marks_02
      @marks_02 2 дня назад

      The socket size is 1 and 16th inch. 27 mm will also work. I saw some open-ended wrenches that might work better than a socket.

      No need to drain the oil. Put a rag underneath because you’ll get a few drips of oil.

    One possible and very simple solution for you that actually worked for my 6th gen 2016 Camaro SS! NO NEED to disconnect the battery cable(s)! Problem: The display/screen suddenly gone dark, but the touch screen function was still working. Couldn't really see what I was "touching" 🤣on the screen though. And also the stream from my "Reverse Camera" was not shown on the display. Camera was fine though. Solution: Kill the power to your car by pushing the "Start Engine" button. Open your trunk and lift the felt mat to locate the black fuse box on your right side. Remove the top lid/cover from the fuse box and then pull out the F16 "Display" fuse only. Check if it's broken. If not just wait at least 10 seconds before you put it back from where you pulled it out. Locate the F16 fuse by simply read inside the lid/cover from the fuse box. I wasn't expecting it to work but... "YES!" it did. "Phew!" I couldn't believe it was that simple. I hope that this helps also for you and your awesome car! Good luck guys! Greets from Gothenburg, Sweden (Europe).
