I don't play the game, somehow I ended up in this video. But from what I understand, the item was not even that good, the reason it was infamous was cuz it was unique and limited quantity. I don't get why the devs would destroy its value and why the comunity was so upset with the people who invested in it being agaisnt the printing of more of them.

I absolutely loved eidolon hunts, the arcane dissolution system is the biggest hate I have in the game by a factor of 10². I started when the focus rework came out, did 1600/1500/1300 captures. Having a rank 5 energize meant you worked HARD to grind for it, or the stuff to sell and get the 2k plat to buy it.

As a returning player that wandered into an empty instance of this with no amp upgrades, I hate the planes and skipped this completely, it was not fun.

I am sad I hoarded a few Glaive relics but happy I sold my old Riven before the Slash nerf(s) lol. Looked forward to this thing for literal years and now it's worse than the freaking Xoris.

Try Stahlta with Primary Acuity if your headshots are reasonably consistent. Makes some nasty red crits with Frost’s Biting Frost. Buff your fire rate with a companion or sacrifice Critical Delay for Vile Acceleration. With Biting Frost and Primary Acuity you can afford the loss of critical delay. I also run Arcane Avenger, but that makes Combat Discipline necessary if you are running Frost.

While eidolons can be fun, i always hated this mode because of the time gate. They never changed it and instead just decided to make the rewards available elsewhere which is fine by me

Realistic take honestly. Imo the stahlta is kinda overhyped by a couple of people and I dont really get why. The gun needs massive help from external sources as correctly stated in the video soo why not buff a better gun? I don't really see the appeal in having to prime demos to kill them considering there are quite a few secondaries that will just outright kill the demo in the same time you use to prime. If the argument is you want to play a single gun for a mission that also doesnt really work, the trash clearing potential is sub par considering its a non aoe weapon at its core, and to the alt fire even with substantial fire rate the AOE is clunky.

ngl eidolon hunting rn is literally just to get the quills standing for a basic amp just to start eidolon hunting what helps is that the quills standing is only locked behind the quest unlike standing with Vox Solaris that needs to be unlocked by maxing solaris united first to farm the standing efficiently

My only wish, and biggest reason why I don't really like how battle passes are set up, is the FOMO aspect. Although it has its myriad of issues, Halo: Infinite (at least from what I hear, idk I don't play the game lol) always keeps their battle passes in a little "archive" of sorts, so that you can always go and level them whenever you want, no FOMO, no removal after 3-4 months. One other example I'm more familiar with, but it's a lesser known game: Sker Ritual, they do the same thing. Wish Warframe would do the same. I'd like to get the stuff I've missed over the past couple years.

If you enjoy the content that much why do you care other people finaly got a chance at getting the arcanes they wanted in another easier way ? i feel that you love to gate keep stuff from people, and make plat out of it. No direct change affected the gameplay loop of the eidolon captures, so if you love them that much go ahead enjoy them and stop complaining about the loot.

The reason people gatekept (and probably are still gatekeeping) Eidolon hunt is because the damn thing rewards you barely anything for a perfect run. I could do it pub on the Asia server where the Chinese players are incredibly competitive about it, and I still only get 3x3, maybe 4x3 per night. The reward is very iffy. Why would I want to run Eidolon hunt with people who aren't kitted out for it? Now that they have opened the floodgates, they need to make Eidolon hunt way more friendly to everyone. They need to cap the amount of hunt per night to 1, maybe 2, and significantly increase its reward. That way people don't feel obligated to prepare to run it the entire night duration, they have leeway to help new players who are interested in the game mode, and they don't feel cheated out of their reward. People who over-optimize their builds for it out of the love of the mode can still do that even if the run limit is imposed. It's called speedrun and has been done since the dawn of video games.

I disagree that the game mode should be reinvigorated by reintroducing exclusive drops. No game mode should exclusively harbor drops to force you to play it. Gamemodes should be fun and engaging. The biggest issue with Eidolon hunting is that the game has dozens of frames, hundreds of weapons, and multiple skill trees with literally thousands of combinations. But DE designed the bosses to ignore 98.5% of player choice and funnel players into only a few specific builds. It siphons all the fun out of the mode. If Xata’s whisper could work on the shield or better yet Astral Bond then you wouldn’t be stuck with only specific amp requirements. Or if the eidolons weren’t status immune more weapons that aren’t high damage high crit might be more viable. DE just introduced a frame and mods around weak point modding, but that doesn’t affect synovias, so again they added a new tool only to not allow it to be used on eidolons. Also energy management is incredibly frustrating if you don’t have a maxed Arcane nullifier. This has also been perpetuated by the day/night cycle which made it extremely difficult to try builds. By the time you get to your arsenal and switch things out or craft a theory the night is gone and you need to wait an hour and a half to try again. It punishes experimentation. The state of eidolon hunting is either brutally unforgiving if you’re under kitted, or excruciatingly repetitive and boring if you’re well equipped because there’s very little room for creativity unlike nearly everywhere else in the game besides other bosses that also ignore half the game’s mechanics. The game is complex and has a lot of niche interactions that make it an interesting puzzle to solve. It’s like a deck building game. Except they only let you use one of 6 cards instead of all of them. It’s just not fun.

REMOVE THE TIME GATE AGREED

Never did this, too annoying. I could do it solo, but I don't actually need any of the drops. Only real reason to do it is if I really needed to min max my builds way more, which given I can solo almost all content except the more difficult steel path stuff, just isn't necessary.

You know considering all the questionable or downright bad decisions DE has made over the game's existence, arcane helmets I feel are nearly a complete non issue. It also makes me realize just how old I am as a player to have lived through coptering. Heck I started while Loki was still a starter frame, fun times.

Oh yeeeah i remember the last week they were obtainable. Needed the nova one and was able to trade an extra arcane i had for it. I got lucky i got them all before they took them away

Small correction to a mostly irrelevant thing. The Aeolak absolutely has an AoE on its alt fire.

Honestly, they ahould just roll with it and re-add them via nightwave. The helmets are just oddities and rarely impactful. Give them an arcane revive and they'll at least be useful for newbies.

My buddy who got me into the game really likes trading. Like really likes it and is incredibly good it. He keeps a constant supply of about 200 of every single prime frame and mass sells them when their prices are at their highest. As well as most of the weapons and companions. He also has at least 150k worth of god roll rivens he will never sell since he’s become a collector. I’ve always wondered if people like Jim effect the maker and if so, how?

Eidolon hunts used to be my jam, havent played since railjack was added but i had to stop because the burnout got to me, everything he said in the video is basically what got me tired of it, is nice to see there are more ways now to acquire arcanes but is sad to see that it makes a fun activity basically unless

i still have a bunch of arcane helmets and blueprints for them lol
