    I bought some poly board insulation for my 8 x 8 wooden shed, and I use the r value 6 that’s one and half inch thick. Since I had extra leftover poly board left, I decided to double layer the ceiling for extra protection. Was that an actual good idea? Because now I think I just doubled the r value for the actual ceiling where most of the heat comes from.

    • @TotallyUniqueLife
      @TotallyUniqueLife Месяц назад

      I don't think it could hurt at all. If the shed is heated it will retain heat better with the extra insulation. Either way, I wouldn't be concerned about it at all. Have you insulated the door(s) of the shed?

    I bought myself one of those tuff sheds from Home Depot, a small one that’s not very big, but big enough for me to do yoga in and make it into my personal little hobby room. When I first got it, oh my goodness it was so hot between the time of 1 till like 7 PM. It was basically unusable for a solid six hours, which is a big chunk of the day. I added this insulation and it actually has improved it a lot. Now I could actually spend time in there during the hot summer days lol. I essentially just extended the time of which I could use it until. Awesome

    This is probably gonna be kind of a stupid question, but I’m gonna ask it anyway. So I built my woodshed, and I got the same type of insulation that you have, but only one side has the radiating barrier silver on it. I’m staring at my shed and I’m thinking that the radiant barrier part, the silver side of the poly board must be in contact with the walls of the shed itself? Because that’s where the heat is coming from. Am I thinking of this right? lol

      @@TotallyUniqueLife that makes sense, since you have the silverside facing the interior and you live in a cooler environment, it makes sense. I kind of live in a warmer one, but it doesn’t ever get humid where I’m at. So I’m gonna face my radiant heat shield side against the wall where the source of the heat is. During the winter time, it could easily heat up because it’s a shed with no windows. The coolest it gets in the winter at night is maybe upper 30 degrees. It’s a pretty small shed, so I put a little heater in there. I’m thinking that it would be comfortable with a matter of just like 10 minutes. So this is the set up. I’m gonna do. Thanks for the article though.

    I assumed a septoplasty would straighten my nose. I asked my ENT and he said "no" and said I need a rhinoplasty which they want to charge $12k extra for out of pocket. Part of me wonders if they're trying to scam me and earn more money on top of what my insurance will pay for the simple septoplasty. It doesn't make sense to have to pay $12k more to have the nose straightened on top of what they're already doing.

    Thank you for suggesting this video. I was watching the other one and you linked me to this one. This will help the door situation. I wonder, I have a fairly small shed, so are these poly insulation boards pretty inexpensive or are they a lot? I don’t have a massive shed so I think I’m gonna be fine. These are one inch thick? Must really good at preventing heat buildup. For me, when I touch wall from the inside of my wood shed, I could feel the heat coming through the wood. So these poly type insulation will prevent that I suppose. Awesome product

      To be honest, I don't remember what they cost but they aren't exorbitant and you'll only need 1 or two depending on the size of your doors. I think these are comparable and they only cost roughly $13 for a .75" X 4' X 8' board. www.lowes.com/pd/Common-0-75-in-x-4-ft-x-8-ft-Actual-0-6875-in-x-3-875-ft-x-7-875-ft-R-Expanded-Polystyrene-Foam-Board-Insulation/3365568

    So I built myself a very sturdy wooden shed, and it’s 4 feet wide and 8 feet long lean to style. So I put it up against the wall of my house, and I’m thinking that the only insulation that I will need is the walls and the ceiling that get the sunlight. Otherwise, the wall that’s adjacent to the house, when I put my hand up against it and never radiates heat. This makes sense because that side of the shed never has sun shining on it. I’m thinking about getting an r7 for the three walls and ceiling. The door itself will be tricky to insulate, but I’ll figure it out. I am in Santa Cruz CA and the weather here is mild.

Someone told me that I need to have one inch of space between them because apparently it’s bad for the Shed? Moisture buildup or something. But I’ve seen a lot of RUclipsrs that just put it right next up directly to the wood. I guess that’s OK too? I prefer to do that actually.

    I like these insulation boards, but I have a question. On your opinion , does an R6 level provide good enough insulation for a small 7x7 wood shed? I don’t intend to live in it but I will be in there often to build stuff and spend a couple hours working in there. I live in California and it’s pretty moderate here weather wise. I was going to settle with R5, but R6 will be the minimum I would go.

    • @TotallyUniqueLife
      @TotallyUniqueLife 3 месяца назад

      I assume your shed will be heated? From experience you should be fine with an R6 level insulation. I assume you are also going to insulate the ceiling, correct? One thing I never did was add any insulation under the shed. I was going to do it manually by cutting insulation and putting it between the joists but I'm contemplating having insulation blown under the shed. You may want to consider the same. It would be easier for you, due to the smaller size, to install insulation under your shed by cutting insulation and fitting it between the joists. Best, Bob

      @@TotallyUniqueLife there is an actual insulation vent in the shed itself, but it’s located at the bottom of the rear wall. Maybe I can buy a portable ventilation fan that sucks the hot air out of the shed. The shed is heated as I have a portable heater. As for AC? Well this is why I was little concerned about the insulation. In the summertime heat I guess that it’ll always be 10-15 degrees cooler with these r6 level insulation. I will just put it up against the wall and ceiling of the shed. As for the floor? Maybe I’ll leave it, but I’m debating if putting floor insulation will be a path I decide to take or not. Your weight is the critical thing. Those kayaks have a 275 pound weight limit. Best practice is to look for minimum of 100 pounds, preferably 125 or more excess capacity over your weight. Thus, 175 should be the limit on the weight of kayaker in that boat. I'm 215 and just bought a similar boat, and will TRY it myself, but it's for lighter guests and I'll be buying a larger one for myself if I don't drown first, lol. Hi, thank you so much for commenting on my video and articles. I am so very happy that they helped you in some way to prepare for and recover from the surgery. I'm still doing well with my breathing and you are fortunate not to have to deal with splints. You're right, maybe there have been advancements made. I hope your recovery continues to go well and congratulations in having the surgery and making it to the other side! Best, Bob

    Appreciate the review sir!! Just purchased this same kayak for my daughters today because they like going to islands when we are on the lake. I think they will enjoy them immensely.

    Nice video, thank you. Just wondering about the safety catches for flat bench press as they don’t seem to go down very low. Do you use them on lowest setting? My bench is quite low to the ground and am concerned catches may be too high.

      Hi, yes I use the safety bars on my bench. Don't really need them much lately as I have been benching for more reps lately and less weight. I'm actually away on vacation right now so I'm not sure exactly which setting I have them on currently but it's perfect for me because when benching they don't hit the bars at the bottom of the lift but are high enough that I can scoot out under the bar if I need them. When I get home I'll check which setting I have them on. Thanks for your comment. Best, Bob

      Hi, just checked. The safety catches are on the 2nd to lowest setting and they work well for me.

    I also heard that extending a pitched roof towards the front making it longer a squirrel can't access the birdhouse. I would use your idea along with a longer pitched roof

      Hi Nancy, What I noticed was that the squirrels were coming up from the tree the birdhouse was attached to so I'm not sure how extending the roof would help but maybe I'm misunderstanding. Yes, after I implemented the metal protectors I haven't had an issue and we've gone through a new season. Thanks for your comment! Best, Bob
