Can you please tell about the thickness about the hemp wick?
Oh my gosh. I use Eric light wicks for my other waxes. I have so much beeswax, i came here first to learn how to wick them. I have so many types I can probably test every one that you have except you did it for me.
Glad to have found your page 😊 Will be hanging around ! Life will throw so much at you. Just change your direction 🫶🏼 Prayer is Powerful 🙏🏻
Love the video. I cant load the full tutorial video though. My molds are 4"x2.6" and 31/4"x 2.2" How much wax should use & coconut oil so that im not wasting pellets? Was also curious to know how many drops of EOs you used.
Is there a delivery charge for orders sent to Canada? Thanks for the video, great info 😊
wood wicks perform best with a little coconut in the mix. it's less about the temp and more about beeswax is very viscous. Add about 15% coconut and watch it improve. Eco wicks are not as hot as CD wicks. I would have tried those next. I don't know how hot hemp wicks are as they don't seem to be something as mainstream
please use chapters for your videos. makes it a lot easier
very good
would be nice to see where you got the wicks, none of the links are openable
buy from a reputible source like makesy or other candle suppliers. i bought some whatever wicks from china and they worked, but were inconsistent
Not to take away from your wick test video here, consider my post a side note ! Coconut wax is natural and sustainable, clean burning, pools exceptionally well. And it finishes very smoothly after cooling. And folks add beeswax to it to stiffen it up a bit, because coconut wax on it's own is pretty soft. I think it's a nice combo of two healthy waxes. Virginia Candle Supply sells it pre blended. But if you want to mix your own, probably 20% bees wax is a good starting point, and still offer some of the beeswax air purification functionality.. Just sayin.
Thanks very helpful!
The tinfoil fixed it. Thank you!
Hello. First off, thank you for your great videos! They are exactly what I was looking for! I am a beekeeper and sell wax products such as lotionbars, lip balms, and soon candles, along with honey of course! I wanted to warn you about the “beeswax” pellets you are using in this video. It is from china, and is not real. I can tell you this from experience in my bee yard. Often we have to coat the frames in our hives with wax to get the bees to use them. I have tried this exact brand you’re using and the bees hate it. They will avoid anything that is coated in it. Honey is one of the most faked foods in the world, China is know for it.. I suspect it’s the same with their “beeswax”. If I had to guess, i’d say it’s some other wax with color and honey scent added. Anyway, thanks again for your great videos!
Hi, thank you for the rurorial. I've white beeswax, however it,'s not whit in cloor but kind of yellowish, I personally don't find this color very attractive when it comes to moulded candles. I'd like to ask if ther's any brand that sells whiter 'white' beeswax or what tints would you suggest?
I am still testing hence the reason for watching this. Interesting info on the hemp wick. I have noticed you need a #6 cotton wick for containers of the size you are using. I would not use those tins (though they are very convenient) because if you need to move them they are too hot to touch. You never spoke of wick sizes and this is very important, also you never spoke of pillar candles.
I've wanted to make like nerdy scented wax melts for so long, but I have been slick terrified after learning that wax can be super toxic😅 learning about beeswax and watching this video has made that little dream feel a little more accessible 🖤
I just made some bees wax candles, I used #3 square cotton braided wick. The container was about 3" dia. the result was not good it tunneled and the flame was not very high, looked like the wood wick flame.
Hi,which form of bees wax is good for pillar candle.slab form or pestel form...plz reply.
What do you think about glass jars from the supermarket, where things like beans or carrots come in
What are the sizes of wicks you used?
Probably need a booster WW
I read in an old book that candle makers would wrap freshly molded beeswax candles in down feather blankets to slow down the cool down process!!

This was informative. I thought I would hear things I already knew about like the thin glass. I was wanting to start making candles with botanicals, but sadly, I understand now why that won’t work. Didn’t know about porous pottery either. Thank you!
Faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see. These videos are small steps to other things that will come in your lfe time, they touch many other peoples lives in ways you couldn't imagine. Remember that beeswax is known for its slow, steady burn. Enjoy life, make more videos and be like the beeswax candle.
Btw, your website link goes to a login page :(
How about for wickless candles?
I am only going to make taper 3" long x 1.25 thick for my survival candle's so i was wondering what wick to use for the 15 hour long burn time's i cant find any ansers on line yet any imfo would help thank you in advance
I made the same mistake with that amazon wax - it is not pure beeswax and shouldn’t be sold as such. It’s made in China and coated in paraffins - if you’ve ever seen pure beeswax from a beekeeper and used it for candle making you’ll be able to tell the difference right away! 😊
Very anaemic looking Beeswax that you’re using 🤔 But I’ve just now seen that you use a % of Coconut Oil - which must be quite high in order for your wax to be so pale…? I clicked on your video because your title stated ‘Beeswax Candles’. I expected that you would be using pure beeswax. I love the colour and beautiful aroma of pure ‘n natural Beeswax 😊. Coconut combo would also be a lovely natural, healthy combo 😊🙏
Did these burn the diameter ?
What width is ur tin ? And what size hemp ? Mine are not burning to edges
Could you share what size Hemp wick you used? Thank you!
Beautiful candle packaging ❤❤
5 bucks small, 10 med, 20+ large.
super helpful vid, thank you <3
very helpful, thank you
I bought cheap candles, emptied them and made my own candles in the glass recipients. It is indeed a very thick glass.
If the glass is heat resistant, it should be safe?
Also, have you tried using tritian for candles?
Yes, if the glass is heat resistant it should be safe. Remember to stay away from THIN glass though, and be sure that it is a large enough vessel for making a candle in.
Most glass is heat resistant and can be sterilizing in a super hot dishwasher. However, a flame thats too close to the heat resistant glass can still shatter the glass. Some will say, "Ive used wine glasses to make candles and its never broke on me!" But wine glasses are dangerous to use and they are heat resistant. It only takes one glass a homemade candle was made in to break and a persons will have a bad day!
how do you get to keep the wick straight? what if we just use cotton thread and not a primed wick with sustainers?
What size hemp wick did you use ? I’m new to this and want to order some.
Thanks. I would have thought the wood wick would be higher of a flame.
I know I'm underselling (7.5 euros for the heaviest, most detailed beeswax candle (~170g) with color) But I'm not trying to make a living from it. I just want to continue making these and making a bit on the side. Where I live, beeswax is 19 euros per kilogram. Most of my body candles (most popular molds) are 4.5 euros. I buy 10 meters of wick, and that's around 3-5 euros. It takes me 3 hours to melt all the wax for 15 candles, and then 12 hours of cooling, before I can use the molds again. So within 24 hours, I can make max. 40 candles. I did the maths at one point, and for my 4.5 euro candles, it takes me around 1-1.75 euros to make. I also crochet, where I get more money. Great video!
I really appreciate the tutorial. Easy, to the point and informative. Keep em coming.
Hi! Question! I want to make an outdoor centerpiece using a citronella candle in a metal container and put that inside an unfinished porous ceramic piece. Maybe put rocks inside the ceramic piece to stable and raise metal candle tin. Is this a dangerous idea?
I think that should be safe, as long as the flame isn't near the porous material! :)
@@holisticjourneywellness thank you! I appreciate your advice!
How much Coconut oil do you add to Beeswax?
I made a mistake. I lit my candle then it melted for about a minute then I put it out. Now it has formed it's first ring very very close around the wick.
What wicks do you recommend for beeswax candles?
Hi Thanks for the warning
