[Webinar 🖥️💡] Fair Climate Transition: Gaslighting Africa
The World Bank and African Development Bank recently announced their aim to connect 300 million Africans to electricity by 2030. If successful, this will halve the number currently without access to power; plainly a huge success. The devil in the detail, however, is that ‘modern access’ is defined as 100kWh per year - barely enough to power one lightbulb for the evening and charge your phone each day. Today, with 20% of the global population, Africa has 4% of the world’s power generation capacity. As Africa’s power-to-people ratio shrinks, how can this trend be reversed?

Aliko Dangote da best for Afrika damn idiots must free up Afrika through free visas or no visas at free movement of Afrikans and goods in Afrika
All those visas are the result if a corrupt tribal mindset.
Africans are starting to believe in Africa.
A black man humbling supremacists
Many years ago I was frustrated thinking why does Mr Dangote not build a refinery in Nigeria with all his money and influence? Little did I know that the man has a vision and a pace. Great interview and great question I particularly like was about the challenges he faced and overcame in building the refinery. What an awe inspiring story.
Between 22:00 & 23:40, I noticed some many of the white boys refusing to clap. Well, you said Africa will not rise, that's because you don't know how determined we are to fly and soar high. Make the best use of what you have been exploiting so far, big daddy is wide awake. We aren't going to tolerate any form of paternalistic behaviour from the west or east no more. Take note. There are thousands of Dangote's, waiting to erupt, in the coming years.
You so ambitious, Mr Dangota! thanks.
This is very constructive conversation
Listen up to Done Gotti
100 years still our energy what has they have done for us
Dangote🎉what a genius guy.
Total energy a France company. Africa is not part of your family. We know your country survive because of exploiting African resources
African leaders are shameless, you make it difficult for Africans to travel in our continent but easy for the colonialists, what's going on in the Sahel region must spread to the rest of Africa there's meaningful leadership currently
🙌🏿🙌🏿
Aliko name should be first before Patrick's, he holds more ground and value to us than a foreign company who has helped in exploiting our resources and potential with all due respect. Yet it seems the colonial mentality is still there. This is the richest man in Africa we talking about with the biggest conglomerate and one of the biggest refinery in the world, sitting next to who? an oil company CEO?
You're right 😅😅
Vive notre president
I love every seconds of this show. One day I will be there as a speaker.
I am a Gambian 🇬🇲 Our country is surrounded almost entirely by Senegal 🇸🇳 yet we are locked in a constant trade war with them. Talk less of Ecowas Talk less of Africa free trade
First sentence was borderline racist
Great discussion with spot-on analysis from the panelist. The goals outlined are in line with some of the targets we've set for ourselves with sports karate here in Nigeria.
I love Dangote very very much... I pray I can emulate you no matter how little, I can see the spirit inside... You are such a shy and humble man❤
An insightful forum by all standards. Listening to Dangote and Pouyanne has made me realise a lot of these big guys don't just pump money into what they do, but they actually study and know what it is they're investing in. Congrats to the team that organised this 🥂.
Wonderful show packed with knowledge
Africa

Great conversation we should continue to have more of this
Nigeria has the largest oil reserves, but it imports gas, diesel, and jet fuel from Europe. Essentially, they export crude oil and then import back refined products due to the government's inability to invest money in building a refinery. Many thanks to Mr. Dangote.
A lot of exciting information in there, it's true that the creative space has to be backed by some proper business sense
Taking the knowledge to the people oooh woow,,
This a good conversation
Dangote is and amazing man. ❤❤❤
Final Larry has gotten his biggest headache address by the richest man in Africa and in front of the various head of state - Visa issues

Nigerian politicians need to listen to complaints of the ceo of total energies, they have to understand that instability in policy making is really the problem we are facing the biggest economic problem we have…..Nigerians need to elect a lawmaker that’s stable in the head, we all need to contribute immensely to the development of Africa….inconsistent policies need to be stopped, it’s killing Africa…politicians are killing us… they need to stop
How will they stop when their income depends on the instability...

Mr. Dangote mentioned a very fundamental concern that needs to be looked into that African countries lack consistencies in policies and that's why we keep being crippled
❤❤❤
