Lighthouse Photography...in a storm.
I spent two days (well, a sunset, and the following sunrise) at Crisp Point Lighthouse on Lake Superior. If you've never been to Crisp Point, let me warn you, leave the Harley and the Fiat at home. To access to the lighthouse, you will need to travel nearly 20 miles (one way) of rough dirt road that had me down to 5-10mph for much of it.

Long Exposure Photography at Whitefish Point

Short video this week. I was having such a blast with the photography, I nearly forgot to record video. Frankly, I don't count that as a bad thing, apart from not having much to share with y'all. I do apologize for being remiss in regular uploads. I have spent plenty of time afield with the camera, but I have also been attending to other obligations. Landscape photography on a motorcycle: 220 miles and 5 lighthouses.

In the end, I ended up paying for the frivolity of getting on my Harley so soon after heart surgery, but I absolutely do not regret it one tiny little bit. Spoiler alert; I didn't make all of the light houses in a single day, but that ended up being a good thing as the last lighthouse enjoyed "good" photography weather when I got to it.

Upgrading to the K&F Concepts X-Pro square filter system

This was my first portable strobe light, it wasn’t bad, in fact it produced nice lighting, and I loved that I was able to use my yongnuo triggers with this strobe. What I didn’t like about it, was the size, and the lack of HSS. After 3 years I sold it, and I replaced it with a Godox AD300, much more smaller, lighter, and HSS compatible. But, if I had to recommend a first strobe light, I would recommend the Neewer Vision 4 without any doubt. Oh and one last advice, don’t get the neewer octabox, the assembly process is a nightmare, try getting something else like an EZ Flash modifier, or something similar.

It is horses for courses. I'm a photojournalist and enjoy the flexibility of zoom lenses. In my film days I had many prime lenses in my kit asd well. The thing I like about primes is that you do get better quality and often they are faster. When travelling, I only need to take my 24-105 and 70 to 200mm zooms to get a pretty good coverage for everything from landscapes to news, portraits to fine art.

Change the title to "Is Henry Turner Wrong About Primes?" and I might subscribe, but the current clickbait is not funny. Sorry! BTW, you appear to be conflating woodland photography with landscape photography but they are definitely different disciplines and styles. Then, having said Henry is wrong about primes for landscape, you then only use a prime to take a picture of a tree in a woodland scenario, not landscape, but then move back to zooms as soon as that single shot it taken! So much for primes! Other than that, I enjoyed the video. Keep them up, but please, change the title!

If you just wanted to "ride his coat tails" you could have easily titled this "Henry Turner Didn't Tell the Whole Story" or even "Henry Turner Got it Wrong".
