Is Nissan unethical with their battery warranty program?
Просмотров 4097 месяцев назад
I have a 2017 Nissan Leaf that I bought used from a friend. On 10/12/2022, it was approved for the warranty traction battery replacement. As of Jan 2024 I'm still waiting. I recently found out that Nissan is giving 2nd gen Leafs priority with new batteries. I believe this is unethical. What do you think?

I think you'll regret putting down that black plastic as a cover. The plastic will eventually break down from heat absorption and UV exposure. Sheetmetal would be the permanent fix, or aluminum plate. Thinking to the future, most people would leave the vent in place and use it to pass through wires for solar, but block below to hold in heat.
You need to get ride of that rubber gas line !!
overkill
Nice job on the reverse rack install, exactly what I needed.
I have to ask why are you covering the vent? Your fridge needs to have cool air!
He put in a compressor fridge that doesn't need it
How did you seal top vent?!
Great video, well done. How did you reroute the battery cables from outside on the tongue back into the pass through for the battery to be stored inside? I looked to do mine but it's really tight with the existing wires and it looks like I have to take off that front black diamond plating (removing the sealant in the process).
What year / battery pack is your car?
Im curious, doesn't the vents help put heat put from the refrigerator? So if you close them off heat will go inside rv? & definitely the roof vent seeing hot air rises . Just curious because i live in one & if i can do that to cool it off i will
I like that you don't tighten it right up so as to prevent all motion which may be harmful as the walls themselves flex. Perhaps a garden knee pad on the bottom would serve as some cushion/shock absorbtion.
So Tim. When the slide is out those braces are not in the way? What size screws did you use?
I'm wondering the same thing!
@@braddyrbye9458 I'm pretty sure that I used 3/4" round head screws to mount into the slide floor. The wood brace on the right side sits away from the wall by a few inches, and is not really in the way... we store a basket with extra blankets in that spot. The left side sits almost flush with the wheel well. The do not stick out in the front.
Did you fix the black dot & if not, it sounds bad but black epoxy or even a black tiny vinyl adhesive will prevent you having to redo it.
thanks for the video. I am doing a very similar lithium move from the tongue of the trailer to an inside area of the front garage storage area. I am confused with the ground splicing. Is it not possible to connect the new battery ground to the original location to avoid a splice? Do you have a email site to attach diagrams and photos?
Great Idea, I’m thinking of doing this in place of my leaky skylight. I’m guessing smooth side down on the plastic?
Im in the same boat. Waiting since october 2023. At least they provide me with a rental but a gaz vehicle
What is width of the area you had to modify to fit? I have 40" to span and wondered if this cut be cut down to fit.
Genius! Thanks for this vision
This is very very true I have a 2021 Leaf took it to the dealer ship was expecting 8-13 months wait but my battery was in in days. The service manager took me for a ride to see how many leafs they had sitting in the lot for over a year all of wich were older Nissan leaf's. Im thankful that they gave me priority but those who have been sitting for so long that is quite the shame on Nissan for abandoning them.
What size trowel did you use???
Everyone may already know this, but a hard plastic scraper can be your friend on lap seal removal, but even so, one has to use care to not damage the roof surface. I’m on the verge of getting rid of the old fridge too. Didn’t know you could get rid of the hole in the roof as well! AND SUPER THANKS for the hindsight comment re: installing the wood patch before you finish the fridge install!
I’m doing these same tiles now and I see he clearly messed the pattern up
Great idea
What plastic piece did you use ?
Would this apply to an evaporated cooler on a single wide?
Glad to see this out here. I bought my 2016 30kwh leaf in Aug. 2017. I got approved for my warranty claim on 9/30/22. 16 months and counting! It is really sad because I love my Leaf, but the degraded battery goes into turtle mode and just dies under load... like on the freeway. When it is cold, it can't be driven at all. It is really frustrating to be paying insurance on a car that is not even allowed in the garage any more and just sits outside, depreciating.
Agree! They should honor their warranty!
what is the name of the tape again you use under that metal bracket? Thanks!
Butyl Sealing Tape
How is covering up this area working out for the refrigerator? Any problems noticed??
No problems noticed yet... I took a 2 week 3700 mile trip this summer and had no issues!
Very nicely done! Good instruction!😊
Thank you! Cheers!
"I have _heard_ these aren't reliable", these still work but I am re-engineering them.
Steve Carell resonates in my head. No! No! No! NO! Extend the lead from the drum, put the connector away from the harsh environment and place higher in the frame. Having a connector helps for troubleshooting when you have failure.
Lend the trailer to your brother in law and he will show you that all the wiring you did was for not, as he rips out the connectors "on accident". Great job nonetheless. 😊
Fix it! Its not worth the aggravation in order to save $15 pn a box of grout.
#2 Robinson bit!!!! Thank you holy shit lol
I do stained wood crown with a design. Scarf joints are a pain because you have to continue the design of the crown so you can’t notice it was joined together.
Loved the comment where you stated "The second one...". We all learn, and you did well. For the joint, depending on the height, and thickness of the crown, I've added dowels or biscuits to strengthen the joint (sorry, I don't have Domino). If not, try alternating beads of quick dry yellow glue and CA glue for your brace. Let it sit for about 10 minutes and you should be good to go.
do you have a link for the plastic sheet you used to cover the hole?
Super job!
take a sharpie and color it black. LOL.
I like to cut as far an angle as your saw will do. I usually do 50 degrees on the tilt and 50 degrees on the angle. This provides the largest surface area to glue up for maximum strength. Than to back it with a triangled piece of scrap. Place a piece of paper underneath so excess CA glue does not matter. Lay the molding face UP and use a long level to line up the pieces and than slide glued up pieces together. Rub some pink spackle deep into the joint and the joint disappears permanently.
Thanks for the video, nice job sealing it up. I’m surprised someone is not making and selling covers for this area. There is a lot of people doing away with propane fridges.
What are you using for a refrigerator now?
I guess I am a stickler for details . . . While you were starting to lay the tiles I thought I saw a gray tile (it was the Wonderboard coming through the missing tile space). Then I saw the "gray" tile was now white. I was wondering if you noticed; the comments confirmed the error. Otherwise, it was a nice install. Sal DeBalsi recommends knocking the ridges down with a taping knife (basically pushing over the top of one ridge into the adjoining valley resulting in a consistent smooth surface). This practice assures no thinset push through when tamping. Thanks
I shut the video off when I seen sitting of Saw.
😥 Promo sm
My screw fasteners are on the bottom and I wish I'd never taken the panel off since I can't get it back on and have screws tighten up. I think this has been a problem with this new to me trailer for some time as it does appear a little warped so I don't know if I use gorilla tape or what. I did order some new fasteners to see if that would help me
What if you have to stop. Do you clean up the thin set from the last course.
You should never stop in the middle of the thinset part.
How thick did you have the thinset for those sheets? I am doing the same tile.
I used a normal thinset thickness... about peanut butter consistency.
Not having the one black dot would drive me crazy lol
Why couldn't you use the existing charge controller that came with the trailer? Link to the battery?
Two reasons... first, it's not enough amps to handle the 380w of solar that I have. Second, its a PWM controller, which is not as efficient as a MPPT controller.
If you search the web for Sun Fun Kits, you'll find it. I bought a 304ah full kit.
