He deserved a premiership however he wasn’t the right match up against Brisbane. We used Billy frampton as a tall decoy in the forward line to eliminate Harris Andrew’s impact. People forget the year we won the grand final we had a very role based team and frampton really did his job the first couple of quarters despite barely touching the ball. Noble was definitely a key player in our system for the year but wasn’t the right fit on the day. There are always going to be omissions and injuries every grand final that is just footy.

I believe there's a valuable lesson to be learned here. It's crucial to recognize that no single player can overshadow the importance of the team as a whole!

In my eyes John only got better from about the middle of this season, up until then imo he seemed to make poor choices under pressure even more so in 2023. He would handleball to team mates in positions that put them under pressure that was uncalled for and his kicks often went astray.

I was watching replay highlights from 2023 and 2024 and noticed in one of tge games against Carlton or Melbourne there were two clumsy acts that were responsible for 2 turnovers by nobes which resulted in opposition goals. So I assume McCrae didn't want to risk that in a tight match. We had tight matches in all our finals matches in 2023. Although 2024 was much better for Noble. I have no doubt he would have given everything, had he been chosen to play in the GF, but I don't blame the selection committee for who they selected..

Keep Noble in. Lipinki sub. Ginni came to the pre season under done. Then the drug saga, which cost him games. And then chasing his tail to get match fitness. For that, definitely keep Noble in. Then Ginni showed his class by going to the races and then giving the birdie to the club dressing as a jockey on mad Monday. Sorry, but Ginni could off cost us a granny throughout the year, but we had players like Noble that helped get us to the Grand final and ultimately win it. Don't care how anybody spins it, Noble should of stayed in.

The Big O was amazing in his unbridled enthusiasm for his team mates. Fly dropped him weeks previously so JN was never really in contention as he was out of form.

Nobs was loved but your right his turnovers were always crucial. I reckon most of his nobleisms would end up in goals for the opposition

John was a beloved member of the team but think what it came down to it was in the big moment was he trusted and don't think he was when he made mistake they were big one and would always hurt, and Markov pushed him out which happens in footy all the time if you want to keep your spot you have to fight for it and earn it every single week.

Noble was a turnover merchant, fly obviously didn’t wanna take the risk on him in finals. Markov was clearly the smart choice as we won the flag.
