Very cool. I think shades of gray with black striping + Bright green eyes. 4 years late but a thought for a future piece. - Cheers from Seattle!
The hair looks to have some nice motion to it - Excellent tutorial!
Fantastic - 1st time I've seen paper sculpting / folding. Looks like a great art-form to try out. Thank you - from Seattle - Cheers!

Do you have any idea how to frame it - how to hang it on a wall?
I use double sided tape to stick it to a frame.
@@stevedeclercq thank you, I fell in love with you immediately :-))))
how incredible. Brillant, wonderful, nice voice :-))))
Hey man this is not basic .... could've simplified it ..ntl nicely done..
OMG dude, this video takes FOREVER just to explain the most SIMPLE of steps. Your explanations are too long, and you lose focus at the task at hand. Have you ADD condition or what?
excellent, Excellent, EXCELLENT !!! I have been playing around with these kinds of ideas for years. You are a master. I enjoy your work and especially appreciate your instructions. I will stay tuned. In the future, I will share some of my work with you. Once again, thank you for sharing.
This is a great video. Just what I wanted

Hey excellent tutorial, do you have any advice on how to start or from where to learn more thing? Becuase this video is the only source of information i found for mask folding
Check out jackson's origami too for mask folding! Or the book 'shaping paper' by David gachepapier
กระดาษที่ทําเป็นสีขาวฉากด้านหลังควรจะเป็นสีดำนะครับจะทำให้มองชิ้นงานได้ชัดขึ้นครับ
Hı, I very much appreciate your tutorial. Thank you sooo much🤗 Only, I have question : Instead of black powder paint can I use acrylic black paint?
Thanks, Yes of course, try to drybrush it on for best effect
Can you use card stock instead of water color paper?
You can, but it's a lot harder to get a nice result. You should also be a lot more careful with moistening that too; I recommend folding that dry. Check out Fynn Jackson's masks for some models that are more suited for cardstock. Good luck!
@@stevedeclercq thank you very much. I will try that.
Loved it <3
bro showed a really really realistic paper mask and called it '' basic ''
Thank you for the wonderful information. I can't wait to try some of these papers.
Hey bro I live in India and I don't have access to any of these paper in large sizes. So, can I use a non-printed newspaper (paper used for printing newspaper)
You can, it's not really strong though so you need a lot of mc and be careful!
In expectedly I got this video..., am very curious about this.., I have seen some pic I didn't get the video.., today I got this..., definitely I'll teach this to my grand children..., thanks for the beautiful video...! 👌🙏
c'est excellent !
What are you / is he saying about the tissue paper? - "You need to treat it with ... NC?" Can someone help me out? :D
Haha MC, which is short for methyl cellulose. Easiest way to get it is as the little boxes of wallpaper glue powder that you need to solve in water. There's plenty of videos on how to treat paper with mc or if you search how to make double tissue you can find the same. I also show it in my Groot video about preparing the paper. Have fun!
@@PaperFloworigami is MC for making the paper harden? what are the ways to keep models in tact... i use regular paper/printer paper and am just a beginner... the models legs, chests and finer details always widen up and i want to prevent that... (• ▽ •;) i want to use the models for playing D&D so they will have to be durable too... would spray varnish work?
@@betulkorkut5215 the MC is like a glue, to keep the layers from spreading apart like you mention. You can put it in between the layers after folding too. It will also harden the model a bit. To really harden it once in the desired shape spray varnish is a good idea too. Make sure to use matte varnish and spray little amounts in between drying so it doesn't get too shiny.
@@PaperFloworigami oh okay thanks :) maybe using MC between layers then using spray varnish would give the best result 🤔 i wonder how effective just vanish and the MC + varnish combo will be also do you recommend painting before varnish or after? and what kind of paint... that is important too
@@betulkorkut5215 i think i know what you want to achieve. I was also thinking about painting finished models, and the easiest solution was to use airbrush paints. Important thing is to NOT use water soluble paints, and paint it little by little. Otherwise some folds could unfold during painting. The best way before painting would be priming the model with few layers before the main paints. PS: I'm also begginer in origami, but i painted some paper models before. I hope I helped <3 ^^
What if this origami mask model using normal origami paper? Is it still worth it for the result?
I think that would be really hard to make nice shapes. Any thick paper is probably better. But you can always try! Folding a decent origami model usually takes several attempts
@@PaperFloworigami ooo, okay, thanks for the tips, someday i will try to make it using origami paper one
this isnt basic this is complicated and confusing, dont catfish people, this is useless
For folding masks this is actually the basis many models are built on (as mentioned in the video) so no i'm not catfishing. Nowhere did I say this was easy. Like basic quantum physics you can't expect it to be easy either...
Where do you buy your kraft, I can't seem to find it anywhere in the USA or internet
That's odd... Kraft is sold in any paper store. Can also be sold as wrapping paper. You can recognize it by the stripe pattern and it is sold as rolls. The ultra thin kraft is more rare though. For that I only know origami-shop.com
Can you tell me what is crepe paper ?
Crepe paper isn't really useable for origami as it can stretch. If you want to try it though do the same as with tissue paper and treat it with mc first
Anyone know what kind of paper i should use for ancient dragon?
Double tissue. If you want more info on how to make or buy that there's video's on it (not mine).
Is it possible to use paper for origami airplanes for this? i wanna make my own face masks to use it as reference to try to make one in blender (3d modeling app).
Don't really know what paper that is but generally I can say you want anything thicker than printer paper and preferably watercolor paper as it doesn't desintegrate when you wetten it. It's possible with any kind of paper just a lot harder
painted it with acrylic and stuck it together with acrilyc paint. my first attempt did rip, but it was only at the nose, I still cant wet it too much cuz it starting to get too soft, think I will paint the other side too. Thnx
what paper do you use?
Arches watercolor paper 300 gsm
Sir can you tell me from where I can buy Kraft paper??
This is also known as brown wrapping paper and should be available in any store that sells paper
Thank you your work is amazing thank you ☺️
Ty
Where do you get your paper from?
I must admit, I have watched this video at least 4 times. It is the perfect origami video. Sometimes while eating you just wanna watch a display of pretty origami, with some explanations of difficultys or paper choice and this is just that.
Awesome art,love it...! ! !
Hey, what size of Paper do u use for the tree?
At least 50cm
Easy!!! Only 22 minutes lol seriously great job 👍
There's this specific paper I had purchased like...5 years ago, had this cloth like feeling to it and it was easy to fold, and thick, however it was like..woven? Like numerous strings but idk what it's like specifically called and had some neat Japanese styled patterns to them like red and gold themed with other colors, I had lost them since yeah..been a while, but I'm trying to find out what it's called
My PAPERBROKE FGHDRTHDRHFTYJRTHRDNTFYN
Paper at least 40 cm?
Yes, depending on how complex you make it but for the examples here I don't recommend smaller than that
Can we use baking paper for complex origami?
can I buy the best tissue paper on amazon?
Just one sheet! And alot of glue!!!!
Can a beginner make this? If so, how long would it take?
Good luck
Awesome 👍🏻😽🤝
I just finished a tree using this technique and the white tree cp and it turned out great! The paper I used was too thin (double tissue) and the wires were too thick considering the thin paper, so the shaping was the hardest part, but it ended up looking really good
Thats great to read! Congrats
I really needed a tree model so I could gift a friend, and this just conveniently popped up :D I won't have time and paper to experiment with custom trees, but these should work perfectly
If these turn out to be too complex still, make sure to check Rickman's winter tree tutorial. Good luck!
