I came across this bug this week as well - thanks for documenting! I reported it to Ableton and have been added to the ticket which is currently in the backlog (no timeline for a fix). I'd encourage anyone else who encounters this issue to also report it to Ableton to help get it pushed up in priority.

thanks for putting this out!! super useful, wish i had known about this sooner. i've found a bug, the milliseconds/seconds are not saved. its only useful for me when i can see the transients, i would always use it at roundabout 5 seconds, but the oscilloscopes movement resets after opening the session, even tho the paramenters of 5 seconds stay. i have it on my default set and need to move the parameter so it plays at the right speed. would be lovely to get this fixed by you! thanks so much

Cool stuff. I've just bought this excellent device as I was working on something similar in M4L, but you've blown mine out of the water. I don't see an option to tie common notes between chord instances as a "pad mode", which my device has. However, such a use case is probably niche.

Nice! Can you make so if you strum the end of the notes remain fixed (as if all notes in the chord started from the start of the beat)? The use case is,say I want strummed chords changing on every bar. As it works now, the end notes of the first bar will overlap with the start notes on the second bar -- whereas I just wanted the strum to apply to the notes start, not their end.

MGF Audio. I'm four years later joining the party but wanted to mention I'm writing a theme for TV and I asked the engineer who doesn't use Live if using re-sampling in this fashion is 'cheating?' I agree with you- at some point glueing tracks together and applying edits, warping, and FX to a single track makes sense. The fidelity is not lost and after all - whatever you send out at the end of a session is a two track master. The engineer to my surprise said by all means do it. It's a tremendously powerful tool. Folks should be careful selecting warp mode!! when using re-sampling according to my certified instructor. Here's the argument vs. (apparently the facts). I do hear usually better quality usig 'Pro' mode but my instructor says actually beats mode is CLOSEST to the original sound. What a trip. In resampling, selecting Pro mode can 'darken' certain brighter sounds.Selecting warp mode after resampling is maybe the one thing that's a bit fiddly about resampling. To be honest, Ableton does most things well, a few things poorly, and a very few things 'great.' And there are some serious bugs in every version. Resampling is one of the great things live does. It's so much quicker than bouncing stuff out and used creatively - such as in double-tracking similar parts to quickly build backing tracks - it's phenomenal. Thanks for this!

Is there any way to add a single note chord mode to this? So you could pick the chord and inversions and trigger the chords with a single note?

Hi! I hope you are still developing plugins. I want to share the idea of a new development. We are talking about "Drum Raсk", which I often use It would be great if there was a plugin that allowed you to split your drum racks into separate channels with one click, storing the sample names in the tracklist/mixer tracks. There is a “Extract Chain ” function, but it doesn’t work well, in my opinion, so many people abandon the Drum Rack and throw drum samples directly into the arrangement window.

I subscribed. This is huge. Was looking for something like this because FL Studio has it by default. Cheers.

This is what I have been waiting for!!! This device puts Ableton's Scale Awareness and new MIDI Tools to shame!!! I love that I can save user presets (must change saved file from .txt to .json). This allows me to create custom scales/modes in addition to using the chord presets. Now, I can arpeggiate the chord and the notes of the mode!!! There is only one thing that NEEDS to be added...the ability to choose the root note and octave when we change chords, for example, C1, C2, C3, etc. Although, you can click on the root note using the Auto feature, which is useful either way. Release notes state a transpose function is being worked on. I haven't encountered any bugs, except when messing with the scripts trying to change or add user preset names, but that's my fault. Unfortunately, we can't change the "User" chord name or add more "User" chords to the chord menu, yet. Luckily, we can save multiple user chords on the pages and save the pages as a preset. The release notes also state that MIDI Mapping is in the works!

I was just playing with the Chord Palette update, and it came up with some really cool sounding stuff, and it inspired me to make a song which ended up sounding great. Thanks!

Holy Cow! Will you be making this for Logic Pro, also? Really like it. Would definitely be a good money maker for you. Would also be helpful to see the notes of each chord (as well as the numbers) and possibly highlight chords that would work with (or naturally follow) the previously selected chord(s).

Quick question. Would I be able to recreate the Fat Line Bass preset from the Polysix with these wavetables, on Vital?

I have been searching for M4L devices for this note step style input for about a year.. this is fantastic!! there's very few VST options out there too.. this is perfect! note step sequiencing is on soo many hardware synths yet not many vst developers implements it in the software.. think rolarnd 303, korg minilogue, etc.. I was about to spend hundreds of dollars on a arturia keystep to get this feature but having in the daw is soo much better! Im gonna update to 12 and buy this!

This is cool. Live has a step entry feature where you enable the headphone thing in the clip and hold and note and press right on the qwerty keyboard, but I always disregarded it as it didn’t automatically advance to the next time effectively making it a bit useless. Great job here.
