Hey I seen a wild mtx amp today it's model is 8302 and the specs say it's a class a not class ab but a class a subwoofer using class a for super high dampening factor and sound quality the amp uses 2 30amp fuses and is rated to do around 450x1@ 4 ohm I thought this amp was kinda rare using class a topology for a subwoofer amp I've been repairing amps for 20 years and can count on 1 hand how many times I've seen class a being used for a SQ subwoofer amp again this amp is a mtx 8302 model

The subs are equipment with large rubber boots to cover an undersized motor. And GZs are “considered” a premium brand.

You can see a ton of wasted space along the top and bottom of the heatsink. If they had mounted those main transistors standing up, they could have used a much smaller heat sink and ended up with a more traditional size amplifier. I often wonder why manufacturers make the decisions they do. Maybe they started off with a smaller heat sink and it wasn't able to dissipate enough heat? Maybe this oversized heat sink was a lot cheaper then a smaller one? Maybe this is the only size heatsink they had at the time? Maybe they had to use this bigger heatsink for their higher powered amplifiers and they just wanted the lower-powered amps to match? Who knows? Lol

Shoulda tried 1.33 ohm these love that ohm load and do about 1k rms

The input filter caps are bulging and needing replaced all of the caps thats part of the reason it didnt make as much power as it should i had this amp when it was new and it had no trouble making rated power this unit has been ran really hard it looks like with the bulging caps.

I know for a fact yhese amps do well over 2 k at 1 ohm my personal amp of this model i had did 2800 rms at 1 ohm and would run .8 ohm snd .066 ohm no problem. And i was vetting over 3k rms at .8 and was getting 3750 RMS at .067 ohm certified 1%thd ur amp looks like it needs a over haul these are quite powerful amps and very solid designs.

That amp may have some weak mosfets and or capacitors.

This amp looks like a very beefy 2 k

Would somebody please tell Soundstream to stop putting spiders on everything. Also, note the lack of silicone between the heavy components and pcb.

The infinity k1,000 the big brother was very under rated it was way better built than this and was a class d

This amplifier is not rated for 1ohm.

Putting those rediculous power numbers on a amp makes ppl not want to buy them I wish companies would understand that and rate them accordingly.

Why couldn’t it run a 15 in a ported box? Please stop passing on the falsity that amplifier power is a designation of what size speaker it should run. A larger diameter speaker will always play louder than a smaller diameter one being that the power given to both is the same. For more output at lower power - use a-larger diameter driver when space permits. By the way- love the channel- great amplifier choices- keep up the good work.

I asked the ppl that are re-introducing the NT line if we still get to keep the current xtr and Hcca lines because they are incredible. Don't believe i got a answer 😢😢

Why are testing a used amplifier?

Dam my soundstream txp3500.1 amp runs all day pushing 2 Gothics at 1 ohm. And at the moment it's running 2 10 power acoustik mofos 1st gen with the 3 in coil 1000rms d2 to same TXP 3500 amp running the 10s at 1/2 ohm so far no problems MM reads 0.7 to 1.0 on the 10's and it bumps. Just don't like the angled power and ground terminals

The knob is NOT a bass knob it is a bass boost knob I didn't bother connecting mine

I use their Power class and Atom amps,I have new ones for sale. Epsilon is a mixed bag,but their top classes are great. Had a power acoustic in my bike,durable Korean amps,despite some aggressive ratings.Love your farting skills,lol

That is miles and miles from a cheater amp. And 400 watts is nothing. On speakers with rise you might get 250 out of it. Might.

Me being a amp repair tech and looking at the parts used inside the amp this amp should be making $1500 RMS at 1 ohm all day long it's the week regulated power supply that holds this amp back that's the only one thing bad I could say about this amp is that the regulated power supply holds back the amps power capabilities quite a bit the power supply alone probably knocks out 35% of the power that this amp could make I've thought about changing the toroidal on the power supply and making it unregulated just the tinker with one and see what I could get it to really do there's a very good base layout of this board it's quite a good design.

The only thing I don't particularly like about this 9601 is it uses a regulated power supply if it was unregulated I think it would have much more potential because the output mosfets and the power supply transistors are well capable of putting out 1800 RMS with this board layout it's fully regulated power supply holds it back quite a bit and also it's a 2-ohm optimized amp even though it will run one ohm it's design is optimized for 2 ohm operation these amps also come with a birth sheet in the box when you get them new.

What voltage was you doing your testing at I couldn't see 14.4 ish? I only ask because the numbers ur getting look like 12.8 volt numbers I've tested these on my work bench quite extensively when one would come in for repair work.

The sound does pretty much a decent amount more power on high voltage systems as usual for car amps the closer you are to mid 15 the most power you're going to obviously pull from the amp but this amp in particular if you run it around 15.8 volts does quite a bit more than rated .

The protection circuit on this amp are actually quite quite good u can get away with running like .80 ohm without the low ohm sensor shutting it down. I'm also a fan of using many many more caps but a tad smaller in size it's ability to rebound very quickly with the high dynamic numbers is a design feature when going with multiple medium sized caps the medium sized caps can charge and discharge at a slightly faster rate giving slightly better dynamic numbers in an overall RMS numbers than having just a couple really really big capacitors I prefer having multiple medium sized capacitors for the power supply and then having 2 very very large output filtering capacitors is my design preference on class d sub amps.😮

I'm actually in the market to pick up one or two of these on the used market right now or I'd like to find 1 or more of these 9601 models that are blown I repair amps and the mosfets for the power supply side and also the output section is the same exact parts as high dollar jl audio kicker and about 50 other brands these amps blown are well worth fixing if u can do it urself so you're only specifically paying for parts to replace every single fet in this amp and still have 20 to 30 left over for spares would only cost probably $25 Max plus factor in maybe 20 bucks if you buy a blue moon off of somebody for 20 bucks or so you're talking $20 invested for a blown amp then replacing 3 to 5 dollars worth of mosfets then bam you got a brand new amp again. I haven't had any 9601 models come through the shop in a couple years but I've had several 8601 come in the shop pretty regularly since I wish pioneer would come out with a version 1061 ain't even more powerful model I think it was so quiet well as a matter of fact I know it was so well because the first two did anytime on Facebook marketplace I see a 9601 for sale people want you to buy their entire sound system and won't sell you just the amp so that screws up being able to find a nice used one on marketplace for a decent price or if there's someone is just selling the amp they want like $200 for it basically what it costs new if I came across a nice used one with the box and it's still in good shape iPad 1:50 for the amp if it was the box included amp looking great not all beat up rusted and scratched and of course working there's a lot of people that blow their amp and then wrap it back up in the plastic and put it back in the box and then put it for sale on marketplace like it's not a blown.

This amp is a total sleeper beast the 9601 is a nice nice unit

i actually have the shok 3 born to win version i had it at half ohm for months on my x15 on stock electrical just 2 runs of 1/0 knuconcepts, agm up front and kinitic 2500 in the back with big 3 on just the 2012 stock tahoe alt and never had a problem and the amp never gets hot. it pushes the hell out of my x15 and it’s in a pretty but box 4.6cb after displacement tuned to 30hz

Just stumbled across this channel today. I'm liking it so far. If I had one suggestion, it would be to list the rated power on the screen during the test. Keep up the good work

In this series JBL made the ridiculously large $6000 3 feet long × 2 feet wide A 6000 GTi. Big D from Williston audio has a video of it. It's f**king crazy.
