If it won't run when you take it off choke the jet in the carburetor is more than likely clogged. When storing my generator I always use seafoam and turn the gas off and let it die on its own. I'VE run generators 40 years minimum problems. SEAFOAM

Petcock sticking? You’d be surprised as the rubber gasket in the petcock can get worn out. Also did you spray your carb good? Sticking injector ?

Did you have an issue with the turn signal connector at the top of the mirror when putting the cover back on? My neighbor was having an issue but the male connector seems a bit loose.

I learned how to take apart and clean a carburator before finding your videos so I am not too upset that I spent that time but if you hadnt of mentioned the low oil, who knows how long I would of been lost for. Thank you again, sincerely.

I replaced the original OEM front shocks on my ML55 after 23-years and 75,000 miles. Both were leaking and one no longer would return after being compressed. Because of this awesome video and the corresponding write-up on the forum I had planned on buying the KYB monomax shocks. For some reason at the time I couldn't find the KYB monomax shocks less than $109/ea. At the time (February 2024) I was able to buy the Bilstein B6 shocks (24-126649) for $120/ea. I just checked today and the KYB monomax are now only $70.24/ea and the Bilstein B6 are $148/ea. If you are doing the front shocks its a good time to consider replacing the front swaybar bushings as well.

So no Info now that time has gone by as to how they held up ? How about a current Sunshine Update ? are they any good or did they Fail in a few months or a Year and 1/2 perhaps Thank You for your post a update would be great

A few notes as just did this on mine. I notice before and after the new shocks have raised the front 10mm or so. They feel really good firm but not a crazy difference front and rear thats extremely noticeable (im on stock rear shocks still) everything I hear about the bilstein b6 rear says they are probably too stiff. So im thinking when I do the rear i'll just get some b4's or a kyb factory shock.... wish kyb made a monomax for the rear tho. I notice these are a fair bit longer than the stock shock which nearly goes to the limit of the headlight level sensor thats on the front right control arm. Even with the original bump stop off the old shock thats a shit ton more travel in the shock before its hitting the bump stop. I havent shimmed the bolt at the bottom but I did slightly machine a step into the original conical washer you have to cut off the bottom of the stock shock so with the torque of the bolt and the rubber isolating it from shock I doubt its going anywhere. But will go back and have a look at making a shim in my lathe in a few weeks.

Haha, love the decal on the rear. How true. My ML55 sits a little lower than standard (about 30") and I'd like to retain that. Would you suggest these KYB MonoMax or the KYB KG5782 Gas-a-Just for my case? I'm thinking because the MonoMax are firmer, it may be a bit too firm at a lower height vs the Gas-a-Just.

They're JUNK. Have the same issues, mine will not produce current. Contacted champion , waited over an hour to speak with a tech, she was a woman who knew nothing and was not helpful whatsoever, she read from a dummy sheet and had no idea what she was talking about. didn't know what an AVR part is or anything for that matter. Hung up on her dumb as* , champion can go to hell, terrible company with sub par merchandise, will never buy another and badmouth them all I can.

I Just received my new generator, However, I will buy parts now for quick repairs. NO BACK UP GENERATOR at my house. Thank you for repairs advice. I wish I could help you to repay for your kindness.

Mine runs fine on propane, but will only run for 30 sec on gas. It has been sitting up for at least 2 years. Surely I ran all the gas out before storage. BTW I used this unit for many hours during the feb.2021 winter storm, however only used gas because with propane in the cold weather it would not run for very long.

Thank you so much for this video, I have a Champion 9000/7000 - 8100/6300 duel fuel generator. After watching this video I ordered the parts for the brushes and the AVR cost me $63.90 total from Champion company themselves. They were very helpfull and had the parts in on 2-3 days. They say 5 business days but they were very quick. It was easy to install and it started right up and ran great. If who ever reads this, if you can't get it to run on gasoline or propane and you don't see anything on your read out showing your hrs, htz and out voltage output. Then I would say that this what is wrong with your generator.

Just got the champion dual fuel 2500 watt back in April of this year 2023. I have used it 6 times for about 3 hours a clip and have changed the oil twice. It's already doing this. Starts for 3 seconds or so and shuts off. Never used fuel always just use the propane. I will check with champion but I don't think I would ever purchase another Champion product seems like its crap to me. Not impressed even though everyone rants and raves about them. You would think the product would last longer then 6 months.

I put a new carburetor on my champion generator new spark plug and it’ll run good for a few minutes or less then it shuts down like it lost fuel. I don’t understand it’s getting spark to the spark plug, new spark plug but do you think it might have something to do with the AVR also?

I have a champion bought it 8 months ago and I was told there is a defective valve so wach out mine was only 8 mounth old and now I am having no support there saying coz of the defective part in it that I'm out all the money for there mess up even got the extended warranty that there not going to Horner if they replace the motor it's a scame the brushes only last about 4 months

Um... So how do you test to see if it's the voltage regulator?

I have a Champion dual fuel 9000 watt and when I push the start toggle, I can hear the starter make it's noise, but the engine isn't turning over. Is that the solenoid? And how do you know how many hours you have on yours? Is there an hour meter somewhere?

I have 2 that I purchased about six months apart from Academy. The tan ones. Front wheel hub went bad. Cone nuts tightened up and crushed the bearing cups. It was warranted by Mongoose. I do remove my front wheel every ride to fit in my car, so probably a factor. Crank bearings toasted on the second. Ordered replacements on eBay for my convenience. I did break one chain. My first upgrade was the seat. I got bigger butt seats with gel from Wally World. Best mod yet 😁 One got a sealed bottom bracket from eBay the same time as a crank upgrade. Both now have Buclos (?) 38t x 24t crank and sprockets instead of the factory 36t. No front derailleur. I just change it by hand if needed, but I find that I just leave it on the 24t for where I’ve been riding. Seems to have solved my hill climb gearing issue. No flats yet with the factory tires and tubes. But I also don’t ride the urban or ghetto street locations like I used to. I would like to upgrade to skewer axels or wheels when I find them available. It’s not the best quality bike ever. I would suggest going over it before your first ride and inspect it often. But for the budget price, I have been having a blast with mine instead of just wishing I could afford something more expensive. Oddly enough I have only seen one other one in the wild 🤔

I need to do this to a SL 500 2003 I just can't disconnect the modules it's a little different than this one. Do you have any videos of this on an R230??
