I don't get the part where you say "On arch you build your system from ground up" You do that on NixOS aswell, just differently, also the part where you say "If you want complete control and customization" bro just tell me what you couldn't customize or accomplish on NixOS? I am no Arch hater, but I have to say that you were wrong in those parts, and actually you have better control of your system with NixOS since you have everything in config files, and you know what you have, and what you've changed.

you will never know what works, without trying all the options. if you dont want to distro hop, use endeavour os learn the different desktop environments and how to use them. then switch to others and see the lag spikes and settle on endeavour, arch, debian, or fedora. those are all OG linux not some crappy spin off

I am currently in a process of migrating my daily driver to NixOS and so far, I am very excited. What I love is that I can experiment and prepare my whole setup on different PC (or virtual machine, I guess) and then just copy it and build when it's ready.. And that's perfect, since it already took me like 40 hours and I expect that amount again before finishing :D

A lot of distro reviews focus on how to install the system and the packages. But what about security? Red hat, Suse, and Ubuntu for example make apparmor and selinux profiles and firewall policies. How is that handled with community driven distros?

In my Ryzen 7 computer with AMD GPU, Ubuntu 24 is faster than Linux Mint. I really liked it, amazing. Now Gnome Ubuntu is in my main computer.

I learned nix and now there is No Other Option for me. It is almost as customizable as Arch and also as Up to Date, but stable and much more flexible at the Same time. It introduces some difficulties to solve Things that are quite Tricky otherwise, mainly dependency hell and different Versions of packages in parallel.
