@@Rogue_FPV Just flew my first Edgetx flight, had all kinds on settings done, but in the end I didnt even use those, only model voltage to know when to land. weird huh?

@@LanceaNatrix yeah, that’s the main one that I use. The others are really secondary and not always used / useful, but I’m glad that they are setup in advance if any issues where they might be needed, because you never know what can happen..

@@anubiss2058 if you use Max Altitude, the drone will add the Initial Climb altitude to your highest altitude flown, and fly back. I fly LR in spots with really tall trees, so climbing 100m assures me that I won’t hit an obstacle coming back. You don’t need to set it that high, use good judgement based on where you are flying. If 30ft above your highest altitude is safe where you are flying, by all means, set the initial climb to 10m. 💪🏻🤘🏻

I have a cinelog 35 v2 O3 tbs M8 and I have updated to BF 4.5 and when conducting flights test the drone like most of the time fail to do the gps rescue action. It seems the altitude readings freeze when I activate failsafe like it climbs but altitude in osd stays at what I was flying at. The drone then climbs indefinitely. Anny trouble shouting list I can follow? I have tried reflashing and verified settings which I don’t think is the problem but I’m no expert. I fly close to an airport so maybe interference?? Thanks

@@anubiss2058 are you using auto baud or setting baud rate manually? Also what is your current baud rate? Are you getting any sensor lost warnings when the alt freezes? I had a similar but different issue with sat count and it was my radio elrs packet rate. Once I moved it to 250hz my sat count in osd came back.

⁠@@Rogue_FPV​​⁠​⁠​⁠​⁠I have tried the 57600 (auto gave me that) and after your video I have seen that my gps recommend 115200 so I have tried that also but same problem. No warning it juste climb and i see that altitude is not going up wen in release it correct itself but sometimes juste recalibrates in the negative and it’s completely wrong. I’m not sure what you are referring to by your radio tho but I have a tango 2 of that helps ?

@@droningjudah “Battery” is the radio battery level, not the quad. You can do a “discover sensors” in the Telemetry screen on your radio with the quad plugged in. Make sure that Telemetry is enabled in the Receiver Tab of betaflight too.

No, I haven't tried them personally, but I hear they are great antennas. I use the TrueRC antennas on the goggles, and on the quad side I typically use the older Caddx Vista antennas over the Walksnail ones.

HMU if you have questions or need help with the Cinelog35, you really just have to adjust the hover throttle and return speed.

@@Rogue_FPV One thing I would like to know is this: at an other video of yours for gps resque in a lower BF version, I asked if the stage 1 failsafe matter and if I would have to set it up. You advised not to because we choose stage 2. Although on other guilds, they say that before stage 2, stage 1 kicks in to avoid resque in small signal drops. Is that a thing? One more thing is the GPS resque via aux. What would happen if we lose video signal and there is no switch for manual GPS rescue? Thank you again!!!

@@illuminatorix I don't personally setup the Stage 1, but others do. I have not had any ill effects based on the way I setup GPS Rescue, but you can certainly add the Stage 1 setup from the other party's video if you want that extra layer of safety and sanity checks. Also, if you do not have a manual GPS Rescue Mode / Aux Switch setup, the quad will only auto return home on a RX Failsafe. You will need the GPS Rescue Mode Aux switch to trigger a manual return to home of you lose video at any time.

Adding SW SD is only necessary if you use Method 1 in the tutorial. If you use Method 2, it is completely unnecessary as you say. You just see it in my Mix screen because I didn't remove it until after I had filmed the whole video. I should have made it more clear that the steps from Method 1 do not need to be done prior to Method 2, but rather a user can choose "either / or". Good Catch!! 👍

@@Rogue_FPV The logical switches and special functions can access the all switches at any time. The switch does not need to be in the mixes (or inputs). All you did by adding SD to the channel 5 mixes was add an outgoing signal on channel 5 to the quad. Wasn't needed for method 1.

If you have the original Avatar HD Goggles, the Antenna that transmits ( Where you want to connect your Patch ) is the Top Right antenna when the screens are facing you. If you have the new Goggles X, the Transmit antenna moved to the Top Left Side. Personally, I use one TrueRC Dual Patch on the Top and Bottom on the Right side, and Omnis on the Left Top and Bottom. Hope this info helps! More than anything, upgrading the goggle antennas will give you better performance over the stock antennas.

@@Rogue_FPV Thanks for your response! One more question, how important is it that there is a patch antenna on the transmitter, say top left? I have the Goggles X and bought the X-Air Mk II Pair. Not entirely sure how important it is for the goggles to transmit info to the vtx versus focusing entirely on receiving the signal to the goggles. Hope my question is clear!

@@BlisterEye it’s not critical that the patch antenna be on the transmit antenna, but it’s better.. the goggles transmit their one telemetry back and forth to and from the vtx. I think MADsTech does a better job of explaining why in one of his vids.

I have had that problem a few rimes before. 1. make sure that your connected to the internet when you plug into the Alpha Gui - I use the web version personally.. 2. Backup your config and re-flash firmware to the FC, usually right after a reflash the Gui will check the serial # and activate the FC. 3. If that does not activate it, you can reach out to Josef Dahari on Facebook and he can get your serial # added to the activation list.

The only things I can think of that potentially might case that - 1. Incorrect Baud Rate set for GPS in ports tab and config screen. 2. Incorrect protocol set for GPS in config tab. If Ublox try NMEA perhaps? Just guessing really though, sounds like you did configure everything and discover sensors properly. What version of Betaflight and what model GPS are you using?

I can’t say it’s better or worse, but different in a good way… honestly BF 4.5 feels pretty close… the tracking and nose hold seems to be better than BF for me on defaults, but I custom tune all my quads anyway 😆 The only thing that had me for a while was the rate conversion, the rate curves don’t completely match up betweeen Fettec and betaflight so I had to change my expo a little bit.

I’ve been really liking the alpha! Especially this mamba alpha aio for $80 😃 half the price of the Fettec fc and esc combo I was using before and it seems more robust to me, I’ve crashed it a ton and haven’t blown an esc (which was my norm with Fettec esc’s). The alpha configurator is done through their online gui, but all the functions and settings are really similar to betaflight, easy to understand and logical. All of the pages have explanations at the bottom to let you know what the settings are for too, without having to pull up a wiki page 😁

In the Model Setup Screen just below the Model Name, set Timer 1 to ON, and set the switch to activate the timer. You don't have to name the timer, but you want a Count Down timer, set a Start Time to count down from, and set the Value to Remain. Set Persistance to OFF, but Enable the Minute Checkbox, and set the Countdown to Voice. Next to Voice, set the value to 10 seconds, for a 10 second audible alert. You will need to set a special function to clear the timer with another switch though.

you can add rx batt and other telemetry widgets in the secondary main screens. you can add them in the telemetry screen i think
