Когда я служил в армии мы строили временные казармы в горах из дикого камня. Вместо растаора использовали глину с соломой. На крышу клали тростник. Плели из тростника циновки и укладывали в несколько слоев. Потом один слой целофана и сверху снова глину с соломой толстым слоем.

Wonderful idea here using rock formation as shelter, I would do this in a heartbeat! Word of caution tho... I believe that this is the type of rock that easily cracks and crumbles when exposed to fire (see videos on burning rocks). Perhaps a different type of rock should be used around direct exposure to fire.
