We will go over the common categories of narcissists both in clinical and common spaces. Just remember, struggles, pain, and whatever yout going through is a mirror/contrast to God and His love. Look at it as a measurement of how God is the opposite of that. If you feel extremely overwhelmed and afraid, measure that, and realize that just as bad as your pain and struggle is, God surpasses that level of pain. If you're feeling extremely tired.... God is extremely strong, and even stronger. The amount you're feeling hated and forggoten.....is the amount Gof loves you and remembers you (and more than that). As dark of a situation you're in, God's light is just as intense (and more.) (No Im not saying these things are less if your struggle is less) The good news about God is, it's a win win scenario. The darker the world is and the pain and corruption of sin, the greater and brighter God's light, grace, and mercy is to those who come to Him. If the whole world hates you and you bare that weight, realize and feel that the weight of God's love and acceptance is just that big (and bigger) The point is, we no longer have to identify as a victim to these things, but rather look at them as a mirror to see that even with the darkest of dark situations, imagine that level of intensity, and greater, with God's love. Hope that makes sense.

      This is great advice. God's forgiveness is as far as the east is from the west, and his love is greater than our trauma, while we don't need to invalidate our experiences. God's love is immense for us and he wants good things for us.

      That's a good question, and complicated. The work of Lisa Romano and Melanie Tonia Evans cover this well, and if you check out the channel's podcasts and videos, you'll see some episodes on dealing with toxic and narcissistic people, as well as "gray rocking." The other two aren't Christian channels, but they do have some good stuff. Do some research on that term, what it means, and how you can use it when dealing with a narcissist. I'm sorry you have to deal with such a person, but I do understand the difficulty from experience. Look at the playlist on the channel on narcissism and narcissistic abuse for more resources. Here is a list of books that are helpful as well, many of which I've read. They are good. I hope this helps. ineffableliving.com/best-books-on-narcissistic-abuse/

      Stylist62, I'm so sorry to hear all that you've been through, and that you've had to deal with a narcissist. It's sad that we go to churches for support, and unfortunately, many of them don't know how to support survivors, or they can in some cases side with abusers. Of course, there are wonderful churches out there as well. Unfortunately, most churches are not trauma informed, don't know what it takes to heal trauma, and can sometimes even make things worse. While this and similar channels aren't a replacement for church, that is one reason this platform was created. If you haven't, there's also a Facebook group on the platform where you can connect with other survivors. God loves you, even when believers don't always know how to support you, and I've met so many wonderful Christians who do. facebook.com/groups/christianemotionalrecovery

    I needed this so much. It is very helpful for me. I am like you& have the gift of gad ( as you mentioned) so please be encouraged that you are helping others. I just don't think that a lot of us that have this problem are in a place of reaching out especially when & if they have been taught to be silenced may not leave you the postive comments indicating exactly how you are helping them. So thank you for taking the risk & going the distance for all of us out here. I assure you U are making a difference. God bless you my dear!

      Darlyne, thank you so much for your words of encouragement, and I'm so platform is making a difference. You don't know how much your words mean, because it can be a difficult road where there isn't a whole lot of encouragement, and it mostly comes from people I've never met who follow the podcast. Thank you so much. God bless you.

    This was soooooo good. I’m learning so much from you. A light bulb went off when you talked about David and his practices with God. God is our healer moment by moment as we trust in Him. And you are making such great practical suggestions for this most important “exercise”/practice throughout our days.

    One thing I love about God is that no matter where your heart is at in your relationship with Him, if you just keep even some small connection and keep your heart open, He will answer your needs in unspoken ways. It can take my breath away sometimes. Thank you so much for this, I'm so thankful He lead me to your channel at the perfect time in my life! Thank you for your videos. I wish there was this kind of gentle help especially in church but there isn’t always. The feelings you be described have been coming up so frequently and I have no where to go but deal with them alone and with one friend. They are so painful you feel you might die. There’s so much that has happened in my life and most people just don’t understand. These feelings can be so scary and shocking to people but they can’t really understand unless they’ve gone through it and there’s stuff from my early years that has been hidden from me. I constantly ask God what is wrong with me and I have had some people who should have helped me sensitively not do so. It’s actually made the opportunity for others to treat me badly sometimes. Sometimes the feelings are so deep and impossible to name, I don’t even know how to address them. I don’t know what to do. Even whilst I am going through hell a lot, I still go out and take care of others, so that makes me feel invisible. I often feel God has abandoned me in this area of my life and He rarely talks to me about my childhood, interactions with men, women, people, father, mother, rejection etc. It’s just like He keeps pushing me forward whilst I have this great pain. I wish there were more people like you who treat people with such care. God always promises He will heal me and I do not take medication and have always believed that He would and will but the pain has been getting worse and if you’re a child, you wouldn’t be able to name those feelings except your body knows them, your heart and you’re spirit. I have good days where I feel like God is so there, but it’s when I’m alone, the scared, abandoned, orphaned, hurt, bruised, neglected, abused child comes out. It’s weird. Thank you for your videos. They make a difference.

      You're welcome. I'm glad my videos have been helpful. I'm working on a podcast that I'll put out soon. I hope these podcasts can help you to understand the emotions and trauma that can feel like a block. I believe that sometimes this trauma can make us feel that God isn't there, but he always is. He loves you and he loves me. I know sometimes it doesn't feel like it. I won't minimize your pain or what you've been through though. There are so many people that don't understand trauma, the nature of trauma, or what people go through with this. I want you to know that I see you, and that if I can heal, there are ways anyone can heal. I don't think there is enough out there in the Christian community about modalities that heal trauma specifically, and this is my calling, so please stay tuned for more soon that can help.

      Nia, thanks so much for your comment. I totally understand the painful feelings that come up. I deal with these every day, but with healing work, education, and community it does get better. What's so wonderful is that healing is possible, even if what we've tried in the past hasn't worked. When I discovered I was suffering from trauma that was a result of emotional neglect and hidden abuse, I started to heal, because it's often about targeting the trauma stuck in the body. I got to the point I wanted to die. It does get better. I can't say for sure if this is your situation, but this is what helped me. Know you're not crazy, there is nothing wrong with you, and you're not alone. Something real happened to you that caused you to experience your trauma. Many people suffer silently. Finding connection and being able to speak out truth around people we trust in a safe space is important. God is our anchor, but I don't believe traditional practices like prayer, church, and scripture can always heal all trauma if it's stuck in the body, and sometimes we need to supplement it with things like journaling, meditation, therapy, and body work to start releasing stuck trauma or emotional hurt. If you're interested, I have a small group on Facebook, and I'll be putting out a podcast in a couple of months that provides tools, education, and insights on emotional healing as well. I understand how you feel about thinking God has abandoned you as well. When we're hurting, this kind of feeling is completely normal. and it's just part of being human. I'm so glad the videos make a difference. If you'd like to join the Facebook group, it's Trauma Survivors Unite: Christian Emotional Recovery, and I'll post the podcast to RUclips when it comes out. Please subscribe, and you'll get notified when these are posted. When I launch it, I plan to put out one every two weeks. Please know you're not alone, there's nothing and healing is possible. And God does love you, even when it doesn't feel it. The more healing occurs, the more you'll be able to feel his love. I promise, God loves you and He is there. Hang in there!

      Thank you so much. Deep down, I know this is true. Thank you for your resources and kindness. I’m sorry you’ve experienced those things too. I don’t like being touched yet I have been training as a sports therapist lol. God gave me a command that my healing would come if I served the “poor” so yes, there’s an active faith required. I know He is so good even though the majority of the time, the pain separates me from Him. I know when we both come through this more whole and joyous, God will enable us to love others through this very tender process. Be blessed today and as you serve others x

    I struggle with people who judge me and try to talk me out of going no contact with people in my life who have been mentally abusive. Do you have any advice for what to say to people who are trying to coerce you to reconcile with people who are not apologetic and don't take their responsibility for their part of the relationship. I'm tired of people trying to make me feel guilty for stepping away to be healthy. I'm tired of people say, "Well, you need to just accept how everyone is." I don't think it is ok to enable abusive behavior. I think it's better to forgive and love them from afar rather than continually subjecting myself to being torn apart my someone and having no boundaries.

    • @christianemotionalrecovery
      @christianemotionalrecovery 5 лет назад

      That's a good question. I don't think there's one right answer, but don't let someone talk you into tolerating abusive behavior. It may depend on the person, but I would respectfully and kindly stand my ground and tell them you can't sustain relationships with those who don't value you or treat you the way you deserve to be treated. Depending on who they are, it may be best to be silent as well. While this is difficult, and I so understand the urge to defend oneself, sometimes walking away and saying nothing, or just saying thanks for your advice and then moving on in your choice to go no contact may be best. It depends on the person to whom you're talking. The most peaceful thing to do is not say anything much of the time, even though I know that's not easy.
