A little skit written by me and performed by my students for an all-school chapel service in honor of the Reformation. If you'd like a copy of the skit, leave a comment here with your email address. Sorry for the poor quality of the video. Gym lighting is not conducive to recording. Also, sound was difficult due to the reverberations off brick walls.

Finishing the process and packaged for church. Ok, so the pieces meant for the pastors to "break" were falling apart. Ha! I had some others set aside for the church service. You know how things don't always go just right when the camera is rolling... *wink* Hope these videos are helpful. Blessings!

Update: During COVID-19 quarantine, our church shared Communion online. Each family made their own bread, many using this "smaller" recipe, following same method as this video: 1/4 c. flour (any kind you have available should work, including gluten-free) 1 Tbsp oil (whole wheat and GF flours require an overflowed tablespoon) 1 Tbsp. water (a bit less for white all-purpose flour) pinch of salt M...

Two airports, luggage, rental cars... Finally have supper and get to our hotel in time for sunset over the blue Pacific. Great day!
I love the baggie technique! No skin exfoliation
Thank you! Thank you! Wonderful videos!
Thank you sister you did it very good job well done
I tried making communion bread for the first time and was wondering, is it supposed to be crispy or soft in texture? Does it matter? I appreciate your time and response. Blessings!
It's not crisp, like regular store-bought crackers, but more like the crimped edge of a pie shell. The time for baking is dependent on your oven. I usually take a piece from the middle of the pan and check to see that the dough is cooked through the center. Sometimes it needs a minute or two more.
@Vicki Rutherford when I made it, it was not crispy it was a little soft. It tasted very good. Some enjoyed the taste. I had maybe one or two tell me they prefer theirs a bit crisper. At the end of the day, for the first time trying, it seemed to me good. It did not fall apart it held its shape. I appreciate your response.
Thank you for sharing. I will be making my first batch of communion bread today.
How did it turn out? You are so welcome. My husband and I love to make Communion Bread for our church. I hope it was a blessing for your church family! vr
So, a naive question here. Is this unleavened bread? What makes communion bread leavened vs not-leavened? Something about yeast, correct? Is the flour recommended in this video unleavened??? Txs.
Leavened breads contain a small amount of yeast or another leavening agent, while unleavened breads do not
I like your technique
Ii like your prayers for you bye
Amen! 👍🥰🙏🙏🙏
I enjoyed watching this so much. I will use your video directions next time I make communion bread. Thank you and I’m so thankful to find your video. Lou
Thank you so much. God Bless you.🙏🙏🙏💐
Just a helpful note. There is a difference between Olive Oil and Extra Virgin Olive Oil. Don’t use extra virgin as this has the concern expressed in the video about a strong flavor. But regular olive oil or “light” olive oil does not have a strong flavor, it cooks well, also has a high smoke point. This oil works great with this recipe.
Need the written recipe please
Thanks a lot, your approach is awesome. May God continue to bless you as you blessed a lot of people.
Thanks for your video ruclips.net/video/LCfnNvbvxAU/видео.html

Thank you for this Communion recipe. In your video i couldn’t see clearly the words printed on the whole wheat package, and you didn’t say what the brand name is. Please, can you do an update to your written recipe to include brand names (i do check out brand for their quality) for what i can and cannot use for my particular diet. God bless. 😁🤗😙💞

This is a great recipe and very good system to make the bread!!!
Thank you for your recipe. I made it the first time with the 2 teaspoons of salt and it was too salty for me. Now I use 3/4 of a teaspoon and is the perfect amount of salt.
Thanks ruclips.net/video/JzhwgUFX9CI/видео.html
this will be my 3rd time to prepare the Mommunion Bread following this recipe . Thank you very much
BE his is magnificent! Thank you for the spiritual commentary. I love your sip lock bag method. God bless you!
I made it, they ate it. I chopped in some fresh rosemary and dispensed with the ziplock murder. It was delicious! Thanks!
Thanks ruclips.net/video/JzhwgUFX9CI/видео.html
I use zip bag too, so much easier to use. I learnt that from your video. Thank you
Thank you for sharing this, that's what I am doing too
God , this stuff is so good for a snack .
Thank you very much. God bless you
Very good! :) I really appreciate the method and explanation!! May God keep blessing you and your ministry!
I was one of Vicki’s junior deaconesses who helped to make communion bread. Now, years later, I am pastoring a church. I truly appreciated the meaning she spoke into the entire process: it has stuck with me all these years, to the point that I am preparing to create a family devotional/how-to. I was pleasantly surprised today to find she made a video series on the making of communion bread. I’m so glad to see it, thank you Mrs. Rutherford. ;)
Love you, Katelyn! You’ll always be one of “my kids.”
If we claim that Jesus said we should take bread to remember his death, then how did we end up with wafer and cracker ?. God is specific, isnt He ? If it is meant to be bread, then why is it not bread ? How often should it be taken ? What is the recipe ? Who's hands made it ? How do we use a natural or literal piece of bread to connect with Him who is Spirit ? How does a piece of literal bread, trigger your memory of His death ? How does it enhance your spiritual life ?
This is bread.

How so nice vlog , keep uploading Payakap see you
I truly appreciate this demonstration😊
Great video! Wow, so many views! I've watched all 3 videos. You're the communion bread lady here on RUclips :) :) :) Thank you so much for doing this. Now I have something to share with people who ask me how to do it. I absolutely love communion bread when it's well made. I may give it a try just to eat it at home but I'll probably use olive oil... It's a Portuguese addiction :) Blessings!
Thank you so much for posting this Such a blessing! Our church is doing a Virtual Communion Service on Zoom tonight do to the Coronavirus 4/11/20 at 6:30pm CST. I have never made Communion bread before. Hubby and I did it together. We belong to the Coy Rd. SDA church Mobile, AL Hope you are well.
Hundred percent appreciation, learned from you very practical way of making it. Thanks Happy Sabbath
Hello! It's me - Vicki! We are today 4 weeks into the COVID-19 pandemic here in Washington state. My church is doing Communion this Sabbath online. Members will be making their own bread at home, so we reduced the recipe and adjusted it for plain all-purpose flour and regular whole wheat flour, since most people won't have whole wheat pastry flour. For a small, snack-size zippered bag use: 1heaping Tbsp of oil (let it slightly overflow), 1/4 tsp. salt, just under 1 Tbsp of water. Mix together in the baggie. Add 1/4 c. of flour (either sort) and knead from outside the bag. Follow the same directions as the large version, but watch it while it bakes. This mix also works with most gluten-free flours as well. Aren't you convicted that we are seeing the "labor pains" that Christ told us about? Our churches and schools are "closed" for humanitarian and moral reasons, our state governor stated tonight. Wow... We are cooperating in this endeavor for the sake of our own members, children, and the people in our communities. It is the right thing to do. But I can see a soon-coming future when regulations like this will ask us to defy God and go along or stand like Daniel and his three friends for the truth, like the apostles, like the faithful in the Middle Ages. It's going to be our turn soon. Are we ready? Even so, Come! Lord, Jesus! I can hardly wait! But oh, how we need His peace and promises to get us through. God bless you all! Stay true!
Thank you so much sister for posting the recipe for the smaller batch, we too will be having Communion Service via conference phone call, so our members will need to make the bread at home as well. Praise God I saw your post!!! We really needed this!!! I have shared it with my sisters from church. Blessings to you and your family. May The Lord protect us all from this virus, strengthen our faith and help us stand up for Him when the time comes. 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏 Thank you again! God bless! Your sister in Christ, Geannie
These are indeed the labor pains.. Jesus is at the door. Pope Francis is the man of sin and final pope. Get ready ya’ll! Thanks for the recipe. God bless 😊

Your video is a blessing to all who make and eat the communion bread you share in this video. I look at it each month. I wish this had closed caption for those who are hard of hearing and those that can not hear at all. God bless you for this video. I love how you use the symbolism of the ingredients from the bible.
God Bless you Sister Rutherford for giving such spiritual instruction of making Communion bread. We will be using it as we enter into the New Year. Marantha
Thank you so much, i was blessed watching it. God bless
Thank you. Your video was a blessing to watch and a sermon as well. Blessings.
Thank you very much, it was helpful for me
i love it! especially all of the allusions to the spiritual aspects of the christian life! best of blessings :)
Thank you, Pastor! I hope it will be useful to your church.
You show nothing about the
I love ur method ma'am. I love the fact that you don't normalize the process but relate it with the scriptures. Please can I reduce the oil? I live in a humid environment, do u need this method would be suitable? Thank you.
425°F Roll out dough
1/3 c ice cold water 1/2 c light olive oil, ice cold 2 tsp kosher salt ShAke all in bag, emulsion Add 2 c wheat flour pastry Bob red Mill Cut or knead well Till ball Set on counter say half hour or longer in fridge
Thank you! This was needed. My husband and I have every intention of making a shorter video that people can watch just to review the process. Maybe now that we're in COVID quarantine we'll have time.
Thank you.
So nice to see a sister prepare heart like you do. I also do the communion bread at my church and have set aside dedicated utensils just for that. Thank you so much for sharing!
God bless you
Sister Vicki...l used your recipe again today for the "umteenth" time. Like l said before, it's great and simple enough. Like you I also consider it a prayerful and spiritual baking experience. I do use extra virgin olive oil however, which is still quite tasty. I even had a young boy ask for any leftovers, which l sadly refused because it was dedicated bread. (BTW how do you dispose of consecrated leftovers?) I was in a rush today because l have so many things on my plate these days l needed a quick presentation. Do you think there could be a presentation that "cuts to the chase" so "he may run that readeth it" (Habakkuk 2:2,3).😄
Dear Clarence, Ha! Ha! Several people at our church have asked for "leftovers," too! But you are right; the ones that have been on the Lord's table and have been blessed for this service are not for common consumption. EVO oil is perfectly fine. No worries. We, the deaconesses at our church, put the leftover bread from the altar in a paper bag. One of us who has a fireplace at home or a fire pit in the back yard puts the bag of bread in a hot fire and watches until it is consumed. I think it's similar to the burnt offerings in the old tabernacle setting. Any juice that was blessed is removed from the little cups and poured carefully into a pitcher. A deaconess takes it outside and pours it out on the ground at the base of a tree. In my mind, like Christ's blood flowing down from the cross. So much symbolism... and we miss it by not making those applications! Just like the Hebrews before and after Christ missed all the symbolism in the sanctuary services. A shorter version of this 3-part series should be coming. Now that we are all "quarantined" at home (this is April 2, 2020 and we are honoring the COVID-19 restrictions here in our state of Washington), we have made up our minds to make a shorter version, simplified without all the talk-talk. Ha! So, you can hold me to it! Thank you for your comment.
@@mrs.rbvsda2637 Thank you so much, dear sister, for that good information. I will be looking forward to the other version. Since we have a small international church here in Busan, S. Korea, l have been the fill-in "pastor". No one else from the other cultures is acquainted with the recipe or the proper methods of holy Communion. So instead of buying flat-bread wheat crackers like l used to do, l decided to make my own. My take on the matter is that Christianity is not a matter of convenience. When Jesus spilled His blood, it was not the convenient thing to do. It was an infinite sacrifice. (BTW we Americans, some Filipinos and Koreans, here in Korea are fortunate enough to be publicly worshipping again). I used to take the leftovers and dump them on the side of the church. Or l would simply dump them in the garbage and pour the remaining juice down the drain. But from now on l will follow your suggestion. It seems like a wonderful New Testament symbolic act. God bless.
@@MrCJ-qz9dl, as we enter the Sabbath hours here in Washington, may God bless you as you are probably just completing the Sabbath rest. Vicki
