I like this video
@ 0:20 the code says : The waste from an automatic clothes washer shall connect to a vertical drain of not less than 2 inches in diameter, or a horizontal drain of not less than 3 inches in diameter. IMO since you have a vertical drain (2 in diam.) that 3 in diam horizontal section does not apply.
You have to check local codes because I have plumbed in 5 states and this would not be code in any of them
what do you mean by the center outlet of the drain line is within 12 inches of the floor plane? I am installing a toilet and have only 2x8 to deal with and am about 4 ft from the vertical drain line going down from the second floor.
Been searching for videos on the operating mechanics of the actual systems, this was very helpful. Especially compared to other videos.
"Some plumbers think that other plumbers who use them shouldn't even have air to breathe". HILARIOUS!!!
But that 2” vent is also venting the 2” drain. Plus where is the tub and/or shower?
Does that 90⁰ 2" elbow directly below the vanity that drains from vertical to horizontal need to be long sweep, or can regular be used?
I'm still new to this, is that a sweeping 90 or street?
This was beauty man. I appreciate how clean and condensed you video was.
Very helpful and detailed. Thank you! Definitely subscribed!
Wow, good stuff, My flumbing drain is fluged up 😅
Thanks!
Sorprenderme y as este mismo diseño de otra forma, cumpliendo el codigo
Vent game is shite!!
Nice video. Covered a lot in a short amount of time.
Please film landscape format
Where I live, you can also come off of a 3x2 double wye with the trap coming off one side of the wye to serve a 1-1/2” trap and 2” wet vent serving the lav.
Just use the floor. When both fittings are touching the floor with 4 points of contact the fittings are parallel with the pipe.
Funny thing is whoever did this probably said it looks pretty good once they finished.
Vents have to be rolled up past the center line of the drain line. This will not pass inspection. And this is not the only error.
Best, concise thing I've seen in awhile.... Carpenter here, appreciate this vid on my not-so-area of expertise.
I would roll that 2" why up at 45 angle
You just need a mark on the fitting to the pipe maybe 1 in work. Tell me in a ditch with out a 2 x4 your going to climb out find a board to make a 2 foot line? Get real
Hammer resters
When you said up to four fixtures per vented leg, if there is a washer box drain on the opposing side of the wall from the toilet, could I also tie it in as one of the fixtures?
Thanks
I suppose thats all fine and dandy in the states, but that fails at least 3 different ways in Canada
Thanks pleya. Great info.
It’s called California plumbing mate and yes it does meet code
Wet vents and studor vents got shoved into the code but they still suck… not in my house
Cool short video, i like seeing the difference in plumbing in other states in the U.S. im from Massachusetts and its very close to what you explained. Only difference is the 3X2 wye and 2" wye would need to be rolled up above the drain, which is almost impossible to fit most plumbing especially if the floor is only 2x8 joists .
I'm surprised the manufacturer doesn't print a line on the pipe
I can't stand wet venting its allowed as an exception in the code but not ideal. Stack vent or heaven forbid individual vent. This is not to criticize your work, ive been around long enough that you had to justify to the inspector why you used a wer vent
You’re a great plumber. Great videos brother. Keep it up!
👉😎👍
👉🤣😂👉Send me that tape to Chicago, greetings, good job

If the government did plumbing 😂
I'll use that next time great hack thanks
What about black abs?
Omg that’s ridiculous
Question, I’m plumbing a bathroom and I have a washer at the very start of the drain line, then a lavatory, next is the toilet and finally a shower/tub before the line goes out the house. The plumbing is in the concrete slab. I cut the concrete straight in line with the toilet and I started with a 2” line from the washer to the lavatory and down to the toilet where I plan on using a 3”x3”x2” short 90 and just step up to a 3” straight to the tub and out the house. I’ve got a 2” dry vent from the washer and I’m also bringing another 2” dry vent up from the lavatory do I need to add another to the toilet and shower or are the 2 2”dry vents enough for what I have and is the 3”x3”x2” short 90 enough to pass inspection in San Diego Ca.? Thank you in advance.
Great video
Suscrito muy rápido y claro gracias
AC condensate
Where is the vents. Air over water
That's pretty bad when you use PVC like that what ends up happening is you can hear every flush
Sounds of nostalgic reflection.
Hopefully they'll insulate the piss out of that entire area no pun intended
What's he supposed to use then? Copper?
@@trentjensen96 best is cast iron I still plumb but havent plumbed a entire home in over 20 years we used to run cast iron to the upper floors for drains plastic on the vents. its way expensive though
Toilets and shower are not vented
They are vented on the second floor, you are seeing it from the first floor
They are wet vented through the lavatories. Legal here in NC.
@williamwilkins3046 I'm well aware of which floor I'm looking at.. both "vents" are in front of each toilet and catching a tub snd shower.. the wet vent on the second toilet/shower is over 10' away from the toilet and even further from the shower..
Better be in Texas
