Pex A Freeze Test. Frozen, will it burst under pressure?
You mention in some 4 minute videos about the slope of the pipes. Do you have a diagram of that? Does that mean when your 3" stacks go horizontal and head out of the house, they have to have that slope? All the way to the city sewer? Meaning, you have to have your "outside" sewer line 3" deep enough to maintain that slope? Also the pipes in your "ceilings" have to maintain that slope? What if your sewer line is extremely long from one side of the house to another, and there isn't enough room in the ceiling to maintain that slope?
Thank you
This sir is the best video on how to install a dishwasher. Great job! Thanks
Im in nc ive been a sprinkler fitter for years, and id like to get into residential plumbing what would be a good recommendation to do so. Most of the companies in my area only hire with experience
I learned so much here. Need to write it down. Thank you!
I like this video
Great video, I have a vent tee location question for a 2" drain coming from both a tub (being the most upstream fixture), then a shower downstream within 6' of each other. Does the vent Y need to go in between the 2 fixtures or can the vent Y be downstream of both fixtures? These are the only fixtures on this run leading back to the 4" stack. I'm in need of relocating the vent due to some framing modifications. Originally it the vent Y was in between.
Cheap
You guys have really low standards in carolina
Question. I’m refinishing my basement which I have a rough in for a sink and toilet. No issue with those. But I’m also installing a sink for a bar. Can I run a 2” pipe from the same drain as the bathroom sink through the wall to the bar sink and use a AAV vent under the sink? The run would turn twice and span about a 13 feet to the bar sink.
90 + 135 + 45 = 270 degrees of turning
Very well explained m8!👏🏻👍🏻
Weird set up. I suspect you would get the stinks after the dirty arm collects the yuks.
Plasma cutter
Why did you isolated cold pipe? This unit cannot be in area where it fries. My unit broke already # display #2 motor i am actually replacing as I am typing the comment. Unit is 6 month old
I am trying to do the same in our laundry room. But having a hard time because the water comes back up the utility sink . I have already checked the slope. Any thoughts? Appreciate the help. Thanks !
In Florida, that would fail big time. That sanitary tee should be on its own drain line because as the 2" stack is draining, there is a chance of siphoning the drain on the sink and loosing the trap seal. Hope this helps.
Great video.
Good job my man. Don't you love those open floor trusses.
Violates Uniform Plumbing Code section 1002.2, only one fixture per trap
Jeff not sure what plumbing code you use, but under the Uniform Plumbing Code section 908.2.2 the dry vent shouldn’t be less than 2”. It says to refer to 703.2 note #3 stating not to use 1-1/2” vent for water closets. That’s how we do it in Montana at least! Excellent video, simple and concise information. Thanks!
My roof vents are 3” sch 40 here in Michigan.
Nice 👌
Nice
We had single digits as lows a year ago. Frozen solid. Thawed. No issues. We're about to have lows in the teens. I leave a trickle and use a space heater with cabinets open. Hopefully, no issues.
Well, we know where you're from.
I would have liked to see the electrical hookup and plumbing too but other than that, it was great!
At 2:50 with the exact setup is there technically 4 fixture units because of the toilet? That's the only thing I was confused by (as a total novice). This was super informative, thank you!
No. I would be required to use a long sweep 90 on horizontel drain. 😉
Absolutely NOT!
SUPER Helpful. Count the fixture units and size the pipes.
Dude that was awesome thank you so much
Thank you sir 🫡
That trap distance on your shower looks way over 60". Dunno if it's different outside of WA.. but that's UPC stuff
Great video. Well explained! I use your videos for plumbing apprenticeship classes.
Nice work!
I'm a GC, I knew the code but didn't know why. Now I know, thanks.
Quality work. Nice job.
I have a bathroom in an out building with no vent. From the septic tank the drain enters the building to a shower, a sink and a toilet in that order all in a straight line over a distance of about 12 feet. The drain is under the floor on a conventional foundation. There are p-traps at the shower and sink. The lack of venting causes the drain line to gurgle when I flush or use the sink or shower due to pressure. Can this be installed at the sink (middle fixture) and solve this issue? No other issues with the current set up other than back pressure when flushing primarily.
No you cannot you still need a 2 inch vent going through the roof.
If it is not a code issue, why do you say that?
IRC 2706.1.2.1: LT may drain into washer standpipe within 30" if standpipe minimum 30" above trap weir & above FLR of LT. IRC 2706.1.2 standpipe >=18" & <=42". UPC ONLY: trap >=6" & <=18" above floor. Finally, IRC T3105.1: 2" trap arm dia, min arm length is 4". So in NH this is 100% code compliant. If you must, add an AAV for the LT to make whoever is squawking go out and splurge on a CODE CHECK BOOK folks!!! PS. No dedicated CO required, but there are overall CO reqiorements to be mindful of.
Great video. As a diyer the thing i got wrong which had me having to cut out and redo work was venting using wet/horizontal pipe but with a water closet upstream. Once I realized this is not allowed, i could understand why and was easy enough to avoid but somehow I missed this rule reading code...
Just sink and shower hooked up with toilet drain??, I'd sure like to see kitchen sink drain as well hooked up to these three
Thanks for this helpful video. That’s exactly what happened to me today misaligned set screw.
Just replace the case and keep it going.
Why is your washing machine drain 3"??
Thanks
Wet vent illegal in some states. Illegal in Kentucky
Brilliantly simple, effective and time saving hack. Thank You.
Never heard of "GRANDLAR" fill. Must be new to the market. Engineers. Sheesh.
This Tik Tok made me realize that all it should be used for is short adverts to funnel traffic to a RUclips channel. That way no adverts needed on the actual channel.
A lot to take in. It'll take a few viewings to process. Overall, I would like to learn how you map it all out and figure the runs and sizes. I wonder if you've heard about/used that Quiet PVC pipe instead of cast iron. Something about that heel elbow (5:18) looks funky. And how do you manage to keep that purple primer in it's place? I'm very neat, but still have trouble keeping it under control. Excellent job. Overall nice job site, but I see the framers still putting wood direct to concrete without sill plate foam. I know it's in process, but that service cable needs nailer plates and fire blocking foam. Keep an eye on that electrician.
