Mountain Biking - ELECTRIFIED!!!
США
Добавлен 6 апр 2019
There's lots of great channels when it comes to mountain biking. This channel is geared more to the not so young generation. More like yuppies than puppies. More of the 80s (and before) than Y2K. I just want to document what I can still do and be able to watch it when I can't anymore. You won't see (you might) awesome jumps, crazy drops and other youngish activities. FYI my main channel is a real estate channel. ruclips.net/user/macrogers

This is NOT my day job. I would rather be riding all the time but alas, I also have to work. So, if you are in the market for buying or selling a home, I could help.

Day 4 Basque MTB Another Hike A Bike
Sorry you've had so many issues with your bike I've had a heckler for 3 years, ive done over 2k miles on it and havent had any issues with it at all. I love my heckler ❤
Happy for you. I do love how it rides. Just the little stuff that adds up....
on what scale is the poison oak in october?
Oh man. Sorry I am not helpful in that regard. Knock on wood, never had an issue with poison oak. Realistically, most of the time I'm not if there are any. However having said that, I can tell you that the trail is pretty clear of any brush. BTW they also open on weekdays now.
@@MacRogersrealestatebroker would you do all three the entire day, or climb up and do one specific shuttled run 1 day length ?
@@resolve638 I have an ebike and we do all 3 in on day. It takes 3 hours. I’ve done all 3 with regular bike and it took 5 hours and I was crawling back to the car dead tired. I’ve never shuttled. The road seems to rough and narrow.
I have inboxed your Instagram

Nice
Thank you. Do you mountain bike?
Nice video, great trails! However, I am wondering how did you guy go up to the bus serveral times...
We are on ebikes.
Funny thing. You still have the bike and ride it. If you're not that happy, why don't you sell it? you just whining and whining like a little bitch.. Sell the bike and stop complaining.
dang! glad you're alright! that section is tricky.
Thank you. I'm kind of back on the saddle again 😜. But man my wrist still aches and its been over a month now.
Love this place. Glad you're back on the bike!
Thank you. Yes Demo for me has everything. Tech. Flow. And best of all the daddy jumps on sawpit 😂.
Good advice to preride. And also just constantly check in with how your feeling throughout the day. I saw another video up on youtube from the joy of bike folks that had a good system for assessing if you should hit a feature or trail. You ask yourself if you are Red, yellow or green like the traffic light. Green is you are physically good, mentally good and confident/stoked to hit it. Yellow is apprehensive and red is full stop. But his advice was Yellow is also Red. If there is apprehension don't hit it that run. Curious do ride with a full face helmet?
That’s a good system. I have to check out that video. Most of the time my biggest problem is im trying to squeeze as much out of my time. Quantity over quality 😬.
Glad to see ya back at it. Always hard after big crash. Keep it up, maybe see ya on the trails sometime!
Thank you. Keeping it up right to keep the fun going.
Cloud, cloud, cloud.
?
Damn, that sucks. Especially by yourself. I saw that feature when you were above it and knew that was it. Glad you’re ok and keep riding
Thanks. My wrist still hurts when I twist it. But getting better. Hopefully in 2 weeks everything will be better. Season is almost over. Sucks getting injured.
@@MacRogersrealestatebroker there is always a lot of rising in the winter here. Marin county has a million miles of fire roads you can ride all year
Ebikes aren't allowed here, some "trail guide"...
Wow that sucks. Glad your OK!!
Thanks
Oh man... this was hard to watch indeed. But I'm glad you're doing good and I hope you're able to be back on the bike sooner rather than later. Stay safe man!
My wrist still hurts when I twist it side to side. So far everything else is healing. The thing is, I seem to be losing interest in mtb.......
@@brokermacelectrified totally understandable how a crash like this could deviate your interest in MTBing. I would recommend that you try to focus more on the joy and health benefits that MTBing provides you, rather than just on this one isolated incident. Nonetheless, we know the dangers of riding and it's not a matter of "if" but when we'll crash and fall. A good option would be to ride green trails, and just enjoy riding more for the views and health rather than for the thrills and risk. And you'll likely still get a great workout from the climb. Nonetheless, you'll make the decision that's best for you, and it's totally okay if ultimately you decide to not ride anymore. Whatever you decide, best of luck moving forward.
@@rmbtd You are correct. Lately I have been trying to push for "improvement". Meaning riding more gnarly trails and doing more challenging stuff. I'm ending up not having fun. I think once I do get back on the bike I'll just concentrate on the joy of getting the flow rather than forcing myself to tackle more challenging stuff. Thanks!
Is this trail local to bay area? new too this mtb
No. Nevada City. About 2.5 hours.
I hear you. Unfortunately, its something that at this point I'm just letting it slip. Not worth the headache.
Hey, you seem like a really nice guy and every thing you have said sounds like what we say in the UK as "being fobbed off". Its an insult to your kindness and intelligence as a paying customer. The Bike shop should know that saying sorry is not an admission of guilt and they should do everything in their power to 1) accept there are problems with the bike and 2) either replace or fix. Just saying "it happens" or " lets see how it goes" is the laziest way to get you out of the shop so they can move on to the next sucker who is next in line to buy. I know there are a few issues, but the battery is the one that stuck out to me the most. How can it be wear and tear when these bikes are supposed to be ridden 20K+ miles?? Please kick up a stink and do not let them walk over you bro. If you need any advise in dealing with their customer service, let me know. I will definitely make your issues and the way you have been treated by Santa Cruz available to the whole world.
Fuck I keep losing all my gloves that I really like. The one I'm wearing here I lost in Spain. I have a Calirado gloves that I lost in Everstoke.
This guy's amazing! 🤣🤣🤣
Freakin A this guys is amazing🤣🤣🤣.
This is a dream bike, sitting at the top of the premium list of brands. That gap he shows where the motor meets the frame is serious quality control, a bit like having an oval bottom bracket. unacceptable. I would expect perfection at his level and even minor faults should warrant a replacement.
That is true. Sadly its more the norm rather than the exception. Pretty much every Heckler and Bullitt that I see out on the trail has a strap around the battery.
I’d have issues with the build quality as well. The battery cover clanking around and the gap between the motor and frame would annoy the crap out of me.
The paint finish seems to be an issue. I've seen in my FB group that SC actually warranties it if it gets bad. The battery should also be something that they should warranty. 4 out 5 Hecklers or Bullitts that I see always has a strap around the battery. Unbelievable!
@@MacRogersrealestatebroker guess it’s good they stand behind it…..my first full suspension was a 1999 heckler
Not gonna lie... you need a new Ripmo.
OMG!!! No!!! They are nice. Maybe in about a year when people start selling theirs. Preferably XM 😊.
U need an Orbea Rise🤪
@@saetos28 for freaking sure!!! I just need to sell more 🏘️ 🤑🤑🤑
Thanks for sharing. If you don’t mind, can you share your Strava or TrailFork ride on this channel? Maraming salamat.
how are the crankbrothers shoe holding up? thinking of purchasing that your video was helpful thanks
According to the bike shop the spindle is slightly bent. To be honest I dont notice it. I told this to CB and they told me they have to see it to figure out if its warranty or not. Haven't sent it in.
BTW the other thing I forgot to mention was when you pair it with the Crank Brothers flats it fits like a glove. Especially when you step on the pedals and everything aligns.
Nice video. I ride Ponti a ton as I can hit it right out my doorstep. I typically won’t touch Whopper in the summer months as it’s too dry and loose. I’d recommend Solstice if you haven’t done it yet.
Solstice??? I have to try. Especially now I have an ebike!!! lol
@@MacRogersrealestatebroker Good work on getting an ebike. Opens up a whole new realm of riding possibilities and contrary to what some say, you can absolutely get a great workout if used in that manner.
@@otissmith6603 THANKS!
You Tube content and context are not your thing.
This bike looks like it was never used before
I like clean bikes.
Nice riding, but watch that front wheel on that drop, if you hit anything bigger is gonna nose dive. Stay safe
Thanks!
Just ordered a set of the ODI grips for my street fighter. Looking forward to see if they live up to the hype.
I really appreciate how honest you are. good on you !!
Honestly the younger me would be pushing it but the recovery time is taking longer and longer. It's better to be riding than recovering.
Damn dude, respect! Those were some GNARLY drops!
Thank you. Most of the big drops I was only the videographer 😊.
Dude in boost the batteries last nothing if you’ve gone from analogue to e bike trail is more than sufficient , plus double the distance , boost is just for serious steep tech , I never use boost as I want a full day , mine in setting five did 25 miles , you need to change the way you use the power , kick of in boost and monitor still tell you range it’s tiny . You sound fit so I don’t get why you Cadburys all day . Try trail 👍👍👍
I have started to learn that now. I am almost on full boost every time I m by myself. Just zipping. But when I do ride with others I can get more out of it because just using trail mode or less.
When did Demo become legal for ebikes to ride there?
Demo officially does not allow e-bikes, but enforcement has been minimal, which is why you might see them being used there. It's always best to check the latest regulations and respect the rules of the trail.
Is that at hidden Paradise
I don't know where Hidden Paradise is but if its anything like Joaquin Miller Park I would like to ride it. 😁
Next time take a bottle of electrolytes. You will notice the different.
Thanks. I keep forgetting to bring. 😱
You guys are so strong. That many laps in a trip?
Sorry. I didn't mention in the video. This was in the span of 2 different riding days. Although I have done both JMP & Gen Ed on the same day. BUT on an ebike 😜.
@@MacRogersrealestatebroker 😉
Trump for Oakland mayor 😜
I think I have a better chance of being the fastest guy going down chaparral 😂.
Maybe a new car feature. Clear it Ron🤪
For sure! If anyone can do it, Ron can. He is amazing 🙃.
Greetings from Western Colorado. Challenging aconditions and fun looking trail system. Roots, rocks and dust?!?
Hello from NorCal. It is a little loose and dusty. I think in a week or 2 this thing will not be that fun to ride anymore (Gen Ed). JMP would still be ok cause of all the trees covering it. Except for Chaparral which is always loose.
MAGA!
Please go back to work.
Great video, thanks !!
Are those grips called the VANS V2.1 LOCK-ON GRIPS (135MM)? Trying to check em out. I just got a new mtb last week and looking to upgrade a few pieces to give it a custom look
No. Its called ODI Vanquish D30 Lock On Grips. They said available by June. It feels quite different from other grips Ive used. Can’t wait.
Hey boss i saw your video and how you where saying about probably stopping because other channels get you jealous, don’t stop man i love your content and what you do keep your head up and keep hammering i watch a lot of your stuff and guide myself from that too to find some of these trails others are stingy when it comes to sharing some locations which is understandable but at least on a private comment you know? we’re all just trying to have fun man but with that said keep it coming!
Thanks man!!!
