Out of the 3, if footprint size was no issue, which would you rely on for comfort, space and durability in turbulent weather? Better yet, society collapses and you're forced to flee on foot...which you taking?

    So did the door panels fit or was there cutting/trimming required to get them to fit? I plan on doing full TMI interior to my 72 with their Sport-R seats and panels.

    • @scottcerreta1724
      @scottcerreta1724 2 месяца назад

      They fit. I love them. I did have to make some mods to the three holes where cranks are inserted. I also had to drill holes using the template to accommodate the fasteners preinstalled into the panels. The fit is very tight and the panel structure is fiberglass so there is no give like the board panels. To install don't try coming from top down. You must place panel from the side. Work the door lock rod on first then lower the panel and flex it into position at front of door first to get over the metal pieces by the vent window then work in the back edge. Once you do it a couple times it will sink in.

    Your Forester Wilderness looks great. I have been wanting a Forest sport for a long time, especially now that they will be remodeled. I am debating the Sport and Wilderness. I know the gearing adds lower range power. I drive pretty calm around 68-70 mph on the freeway. I hear that of your pushing 80’a it kills mpg. I also consider if I do get the sport and potential add a lift it will cost me around $2K. I would also probably add 17” wheels with bigger AT tires costing around another $1,700-$2,500. The wheels and lift would reduce my MPG. And I would still not have the low range power and towing (3500lbs) that the Wilderness comes with. Also I don’t think I would modify the wilderness much.

    • @scottcerreta1724
      @scottcerreta1724 4 месяца назад

      Thanks. Sounds like the FW is more your speed. The suspension is better compared to the sport. You can do a simple lift kit like I did for 300 bucks and swap out the tires for some nice BFG all-terrain without changing the wheels and you'll be under two grand for all that.

    So I ran the hazard lights for one hour. About six minutes into the test I noticed the lights were flashing out of sync with the mirror flashes. It is not fast like a hyper flash, but it did lose its synchrony. This continued for the entire hour. I went back to this video and noticed that around 3 1/2 minutes into this video, you will see this out of sync flashing. Again, this does not look like a hyper flash to me, but does indicate an issue. nonetheless a mild one that I can certainly live with, and it is very difficult to notice. I do want to mention that even though it's 3 1/2 minutes into the video I was running the hazards longer so the six minute time period seems to be about the length of time it takes to lose the sync.

  • @scottcerreta1724
    @scottcerreta1724 6 месяцев назад

    I was not even aware this was an issue. You can see the video is four minutes long and it lasted that. Let me do a longer test. I'll report back soon but I'm not doing a video for 30 minutes just a test.

  • @ZzmaerD
    @ZzmaerD 6 месяцев назад

    I've been looking at these for my 23 outback wilderness. They claimed it's 30 min no hyperflash but no one on RUclips did an actual test to see if it's actually true on what they claim to be. I know some stop lights are longer than 5 min or when you are stop on the side of the road and have your hazard lights on for longer than 5 min or 15 min. Great looking Forester!

    Are you going to be hiking the same trails with the offset trio as you did with the hyper light? Because if so, I don’t understand how you’re going to make a bigger tent, fit better than a smaller tent on the same trail, but that’s just my thoughts

  • @claycalvert4254
    @claycalvert4254 6 месяцев назад

    Thank you for the review. Trekking pole tents can be finicky, but two people working together can set them up quickly. Start with staking out opposite corners. For example, one of you at the 10:00 corner and the other at 4:00. Pull snugly, but not too tight. Next, pull the other two corners, 2:00 and 8:00, and these can be pulled tighter. Revisit the other two corners if needed. Third, one person holds a trekking pole vertically in place, while the other person installs their pole and stakes out the flaps on that side. Fourth, the second person holds their pole steady while the other stakes our their flaps. Fifth, in the case of the Offset, one holds the pole for the head-end while the other installs the foot-end and stakes it off. Finally, stake off the head-end.

      I have some details on my modz page on El Camino Central. But no video of the install. This kit has served me well, but the install takes time and patience. I also had to call the tech supprt quite a few times to iron out all the bugs. I have aftermarket LED lights all over the place and this caused some issues and required installing some diodes. If you have LEDs, be sure to look for the diode instructions in the manual and you should probably call. I think the kit does not come with th ediodes and you will need to buy some online. Tech supprt can tell you what to buy. Good luck! The other tricky part is if your car stalls which happens more than I like when cold, then you must power cycle the car off as the ignition thinks it is still in run mode. You also have to be in park. So, those two things took me quite some time to figure out and now I can quickly run through the cycle to restart.

      @scottcerreta1724 Год назад

      @@nowayhunting It actually is fun. you do not need to drain the fluid. a little may leak out but that is fine. after you are satisfied, and you will likely make 3-5 changes, then you can top off the fluid level. if you check out my post, I think I had details on the weight set in the spring option that I ended up with. It also describes my shifting points. So that might be a helpful place to start. I actually like the Lokar kickdown cable option. I think it works great but I have a gear vendors unit and it is not compatible. I tried it anyways, but it did not work optimally so I disengaged it. But I recommend it for non-overdrive transmissions.
