Arise Yoga studios are located in Crown Heights & Bed Stuy in Brooklyn NYC and Oakland & San Francisco in California.
Arise Yoga was founded on the belief that yoga is meant to be practiced primarily off the mat. That the flexibility and strength we develop from the asanas, the clarity discovered in meditation, the calm and energy cultivated through pranayama, and the connections we make between breath and body in classes - all must be translated into our daily life. To put it clearly, and succinctly: as a collective studio, and individual teachers and staff members, when issues come up, we use the teachings from our practice and we roll with it.
We practice yoga together, in these beautiful and thoughtfully designed spaces, so we can support each other’s practice out in the messy, gorgeous, imperfect, evolving world.

Happy birthday, Jillian! It is also my birthday!!! I'm so excited to go to the New Moon Ceremony tonight. :) Arise Crown Heights feels like my home. For the past year, it has been a place for me to heal and grow. I'm so grateful for the community you've created. Yes, yes to surrender. I just left my 38th year behind and mine was also full of surrender. And I have to say, it played out beautifully! Have a beautiful year of surrender!
