Salut David. Merci pour ton post ! Pour la recherche de sons il y a pas mal d'heures de travail, je dois l'avouer. c'est vrai que le résultat est d'autant plus gratifiant quand la totalité du travail vient de soi. Avec du temps et quelques vst n'importe qui peut y arriver. La preuve ;-) A+ Thierry

Arf bon ok, après "avec du temps'" peut être plus ou moins long ,) . Par exemple j'ai (re)découvert Cubase avec difficulté et tenté d'intégrer un Oberheim ou un minimoog avec pas mal de douleurs quand même. Je me permet une question : as tu utilisé Cubase, Ableton ou cie ? si oui : un de ces morceaux sont ils disponibles quelque part par hasard ? (MIDI, projet ou autre)

Pour celle-ci, j'utilisais une vieille version de Nuendo (Cousin de Cubase). Aujourd'hui je suis sur la dernière (je crois) version de Cubase. En fait, pour soulager le PC j'ai pour habitude d'enregistrer chaque instru brut en Wave et de le désactiver pour avoir plus de ressources disponibles pour le traitement...

Thierry, merci de ta réponse. Intéressant, il est donc plus simple de traiter directement le Wav que des événements MIDI. Donc étant également musicien, si je veux faire Walking in my shoes je commencerai (par passer 2 ans sur Cubase,....non:) par batterie + basse en WAV.... PS: pas mal ta page FB. Par contre je ne peux te "liker" ne souhaitant pas y avoir de compte (raisons persos de développeur). J'ai retrouvé "l'ancêtre" ce bon vieux DX7, avec le D50 ils étaient chaud à programmer.

En général, je fais comme tu l'a évoqué. A savoir dans l'ordre, batterie et percus, basse, nappes ou violons ou piano, melodies et themes, riffs et guitares, puis le chant lead et les chœurs ou secondes voix pour finir. Pour plus de confort au mixage je fais une Wav pour le Kick, une ou plusieurs autres pour la Caisse claire et une ou plusieurs autres pour les charleys. En général, je mélange plusieurs sons de caisses claire et j'ajoute un effet Room sur l'ensemble du mix ce qui enrichie en harmoniques... J'ai beaucoup de contacts me demandant "Mais comment fais-tu ?". Je pense qu'un de ces jours, je fais faire une ou plusieurs vidéos pour expliquer et démystifier tout cela. Pas un tuto car je ne suis ni prof, ni pro, ni ingé son. Non, juste quelques vids pour donner des astuces et pour faire voir qu'avec deux oreilles, dix doigts, un peu de matos et du temps, tout le monde peut en faire autant et assurément même mieux ! ;-) @+ Thierry

Second that. At least, someboy with classic music education is missing in the production part. The songs and composition are not bad (even though IMHO much less experimental and daring than long ago...), but I miss "depth" in sound and arrangement. When I listen to "Never let me down again" I could cry, and this instrumental piece confirms my subjective impression. Ah, nostalgia...!

Peter Gordeno is not bad. He is a great player but I think it is not enought... The artistic side of Wilder miss and will miss ever. According to me the best DM work is between 83 and 93. The great DM was made by alchemy of The dark mind of Gore, The performance of Gahan, The "administration" of Flech, and The talent and the work of Wilder. One missing and it is not DM. Wider can easily replace Clarke but Gordeno can't replace Wider at all. Everybody knows that... I think that you call "depth" is the work of Wilder and I agree of you and your reply. Definitely.
