So do you have nmea 2000 network cables from the smartcraft unit on the motor to the back of your garmin or is it wirelessly transmitting data from the motor straight to your phone and then your garmin?
Have same issue, for a bigger boat, i ordered both the 5200 and the epoxy resin. Thinking of doing a round of epoxy first, and then glue it with 5200
How much did u get your motor for?
What year is that? I have an ‘06 I want to update the gauges
Why is she tapping stuff and using the knife backwards?
Looking good. What have you been doing health wise?
I have a 150 Opti and I'm trying to hook it up to my boat but can't find where the positive and negative battery wires connect to on the outboard. Can you let me know where to look?
Eat less McDonald's ... 🇬🇧
Don't be a twat all your life.
He might go to your funeral you might go to his if you go to his you can say shoulda eat less BUT if he goes to yours he can say you shoulda enjoyed life more ya miserable git
just buy a 15 year old boat that doesn't need all this ? your exceeding the value of the boat
How thick of Starboard?
I used 1/2 inch
The instructions say to use the gasket if you are installing in a location that won’t get wet. And if installing in an area that does get wet don’t use the gasket and apply silicone. Have you noticed any water getting past that gasket since installing?
Do you need the junction box? Or did you hook it straight to the motor? Thanks
you need a junction box 100% - it may not see the engine without it
Good video, same here. Can't justify a new outboard cost in the $25k range for recreational anglers fishing 15-20 times a yr. Bought a 2005 optimax. Run non ethanol fuel, quickleen periodically, and stay on top the cooling system. I added vesselview and love it. 1014 hrs so far no issues. I bought the motor for $4500 in 2018. Even if the new 4 strokes are more fuel efficient, can buy alot of fuel for $20k. I added a 9.8 Tohatsu kicker for trolling, backup.
I run non ethanol as well its better for boats in my opinion
What did you use to connect your opti to the garmin? I would like to do the same on mine.
Yeah youve been royally fucked with that boat. SUCKS ASS
I like those birds back there.
My hole is too big...lol
Link for a new version air pump please
it depends on your engine obparts.com/new-wsm-mercury-225-300-hp-3-0l-dfi-proxs-outboard-air-pump-oem-828123t31-8m0060051/

Really? In the dark??
What's the login info
That I don’t have you need a Mercury dealer
Dude you aren’t comparing apples to apples. Of course the Optimax is going to beat the shit out of that old Johnson.
A rough metal file, for those tight spots, I'm powertool freak but sometimes those manual tools save lives. But yeah good job all in all.
thank you
Did the 5200 stick to the starboard
I used screws as well
How many hours did you get out of this motor
I bought it used with 330hrs so 6hrs later this happened
Stop buying wild caught animals.. Let them live freely
Good job. For future reference, they make a rasp blade for oscillating saws. It's sort of shaped like a spade and is really rough on each side like a rasp. Pretty sure you can get them at Harbor Freight for a few bucks. I found that to be extremely useful for final trimming of the cutouts in my dash panel to fit the recessed electronics and switches when I redid my boat console.
Thank you will pick one up
Hi, how did you manage to configure your fuel guage?
I will make a video explaining how to do this
You did a great deal on that motor for such a low hours! I have the 150 Optimax, and it's all what you said, reliablity, performance, economy. And it weighs lighter than a 4 stroke.
To get the fuel gauges you need to get a specific float put in your gas tank.
Does anyone have installed the smart craft to a carburated engine?
Greetings from down under in Sydney Australia! 6 years of total joy from my 2006 optimax 135, I agree with your reasons 100%! My trim also screams going down on the rams - did your mechanic mention why?
In other words, VesselView app is useless without a dealer, AND it tracks you and how you use the engine. That's gonna be a no for me.
I'm pretty sure the app no longer requires the dealer number and can be done by the end user.
@@KirbyVandivort I've heard that rumor as well, but when I look online, the text still says it requires a dealer to set it up. I'm hoping that's just a delay in updating the description. Requiring dealer installation is a deal-breaker for me.
@@mscientist1 I can verify that it does not require a dealer. I just bought it recently and have installed it. Video coming before too long but I want to get a bit more footage before posting.
The mercury icon definitely WAS there before. :)
From the beginning!!! LOL
My name is Yoshikage Kira. I’m 33 years old. My house is in the northeast section of Morioh, where all the villas are, and I am not married. I work as an employee for the Kame Yu department stores, and I get home every day by 8 PM at the latest. I don’t smoke, but I occasionally drink. I’m in bed by 11 PM, and make sure I get eight hours of sleep, no matter what. After having a glass of warm milk and doing about twenty minutes of stretches before going to bed, I usually have no problems sleeping until morning. Just like a baby, I wake up without any fatigue or stress in the morning. I was told there were no issues at my last check-up. I’m trying to explain that I’m a person who wishes to live a very quiet life. I take care not to trouble myself with any enemies, like winning and losing, that would cause me to lose sleep at night. That is how I deal with society, and I know that is what brings me happiness. Although, if I were to fight I wouldn’t lose to anyone.
If I win, I am going to give the equipment to my brother for Chanukah
Do hope I win.watching from st.vincent and the Grenadines.
I am going to win... I don't have a boat to put it in though
Thanks for posting. Pretty helpful.
You’ve got a hell of a great attitude and patience with that company. I’m sorry they returned the boat in that condition, I would be pissed!

Good Job.
Nice tank!
thank you
How are you enjoying this tank im thinking about getting one.
I made it better with a cup I made for filter floss
All I have to say is lesson learned I am restoring a 1989 Sunbird Center console and doing everything myself. And everything is just how I want it and done right the first time! the Coosa Board was a damn good idea!
OMG, you wasted so much money and time. Just stop putting anything else on that money pit.
You could put tens of thousands of dollars into these rebuilds A 1986 boat on the insurance company's catastrophic failure pay out is next to nothing why would people do this
Actually my insurance covered what I put into it
A good name for the boat would be the money pit the thing is in 86 or 87 I forgot what year you said that was a boat like that from dusky on a trailer was probably less than $5000
now you know why they're out of business. they don't know what they're doing and don't care. but I'm sure they charged you like it was a yacht finish. I have had mechanics do that to cars I have had. had one place put a lien on my car because it had sat for 6 months, but they never touched it. (it disappeared in the middle of the night lol)
How did u cut the foam so nice looks awesome!?
The guy who did the work cut it
Ok so this is a few months old but if you run a line out side to your skimmer and hook up the c02 scrubber out side it will boost your ph alot. That's how I have mine and my ph went from 8.2 to 8.4 it did take about 24 to 48 hour to boost but It work with sucking fresh air in to then c02 scrubber.
would love to do it but tank to far away from window or outside wall
