Thanks for the video. A few notes. This job was a pain in the ass. Took me almost 4 hours, and it was harder than the starter on my 08' Sequoia 5.7L. You don't have to remove the alternator, but it would have made the job a lot easier. That last bolt on the motor mount was hard as hell to replace. A hint there is to jack up or lower the motor until you can tighten it by hand. I sprayed the manifold bolts the night before, but don't think it would have mattered they came out easily even though a few were hard to reach. There is a spacer on the motor mount that is a 1/4" thick and has two holes, one for the mounting bolt and the other for the orientation pin. This spacer is black and could fall out easily when you're removing the mount. Don't forget to put it back. I found it right after I reinstalled the mount. That cost me 20 mins. Order your manifold gasket and flange gasket for the exhaust. Pain in the ass job, but better than spending a grand

Thanks a lot. It took me almost 6 hours. It was very hard to wiggle out the alternator and i ended up removing the outer tie rod and the power steering hose. Such a pain to replace the alternator. Thankfully, everything is working now!

That metal protecter peice that sits above the turbo is not just 3 bolts people.... theres also bolt under it that holding it down and there a bitch to get to. Especially the allen screw. I said id never work on an vw again yet here i am. Vw suck to work on.

The spacers don't interfere with the coil bucket/cap that some other videos state? I've seen a company that make a more rounded control arm that will clear the spacer.

I called a shop to get a quote to do this and they said for a 2015 GC Limited the knuckle has to come off, bearing get pressed out/in and everything reassembled. Doesn’t look like that is what you had to do…this is a rear wheel bearing assembly on a 2015 GC Limited AWD right?
